Chapter 19: Asura Field: Did He Mark You? Part 1
Tang Xingye’s body became extremely hyperactive, his breathing scorching hot. He gritted his teeth and pushed away the Alpha on top of him, but Zhou Lin’s pheromones were like maggots in the bone, clinging to his breath.
Tang Xingye tried to prop himself up, but was enveloped by the Alpha’s tall frame. Zhou Lin pressed one knee between his legs.
“Uncomfortable?” Zhou Lin laughed low, fingers stroking the reddened corners of his eyes. “What did you originally intend for me to drink? Ordinary heat-inducing agent? Or something more stimulating?”
The cold Beta turned his head to avoid his touch. Black hair reaching his shoulders swept across cool white skin tinged with pink.
Only to meet a pair of pitch-black eyes at the door, gathering a storm within.
The loud noise of the private room door being kicked open violently brought all merrymaking to an abrupt halt. Lu Zhi stood at the door, his black trench coat still damp with the night’s moisture.
Lu Zhi stared fixedly at the young man pinned under the Alpha. Due to the angle, he couldn’t see Tang Xingye’s expression clearly, only below his lips.
Pale pink, thin and soft lips were now bright red and swollen, gleaming with water sheen, looking as if they had been sucked ruthlessly without knowing restraint.
The shirt soaked with wine clung tightly to his chest. He watched Zhou Lin’s palm clasping unscrupulously at his waist.
The hem of the shirt rolled up, accidentally revealing a small section of waist. The delicate cool white contrasted sharply with the palm’s skin color, creating a strong visual impact.
Lu Zhi’s pupils constricted violently into dangerous vertical slits. The Alpha didn’t even notice his canine teeth piercing his own lower lip.
Zhou Lin looked up at the uninvited guest, a doubt arising in his heart. Wasn’t Lu Zhi going to meet his online dating partner?
Seeing the Alpha’s distorted expression, on the verge of rage, ready to go berserk at any moment, Zhou Lin froze. Two unconnected people suddenly seemed linked.
A bold guess faintly surfaced in Zhou Lin’s mind. He seemed to re-acquaint himself with Tang Xingye, looking down to size up the Beta beneath him.
Cool white skin flushed with an abnormal tide of red; fine beads of sweat rolled down the neck, soaking the shirt collar. Clearly shedding physiological tears, he still glared at him coldly.
Zhou Lin’s eyes darkened.
If his guess was true, thenโit was too delightful of a surprise.
Zhou Lin’s chest filled with a morbid and wondrous sense of satisfaction.
Lu Zhi had excellent family conditions and superior appearance. He treated people peacefully and thoroughly, neither warm nor cold. At this moment, his expression was gloomy, like a sharp dagger emitting coldness, ready to slash people at any time.
The Lu and Zhou families were family friends. It wasn’t strange for Lu Zhi to appear at Zhou Lin’s birthday banquet. But Lu Zhi’s current appearance really didn’t look like he was here to congratulate, but more like catching an adulterer.
Despite this, some people still wanted to go up to chat and make their presence known.
Before they could, Lu Zhi swept a cold gaze over them, warning them with eyes that looked at trash.
“Scram.”
As if to confirm the conjecture in Zhou Lin’s heart, the Alpha at the door stared straight at him, heading straight for them, striding over, and suddenly spoke.
“Zhou Lin, get up.” Lu Zhi’s voice was icy, speaking without politeness.
Zhou Lin chuckled lightly, put down the wine glass, and looked up at Lu Zhi with his usual smile in his eyes.
Slender fingers methodically wiped wine stains from his thin lips, speaking pointedly: “We were playing our game just fine, you want to disturb us?”
The word “We” ignited Lu Zhi’s suppressed anger.
Cocoa-scented pheromones spread like a breached tide, overwhelming the entire space. His spiritual power didn’t conceal its aggression, feeling like it wanted to break everyone’s bones and crush them ruthlessly.
Those present with slightly weaker spiritual power instantly turned pale, chests throbbing dully as if smashed heavily by swinging fists.
Zhou Lin narrowed his eyes. The most primal instinct of competition between Alphas was triggered.
The gunpowder smoke pheromones collided violently with the cocoa scent in the air, exploding with suffocating oppression. The pressure of rage caused several nearby glass cups to burst in succession.
This was a confrontation between top-tier Alphas; just the collision of pheromones made it difficult for ordinary people to breathe.
The fear of being absolutely suppressed spread. Danger bells rang in minds, survival instincts urging others to leave quickly.
People in the private room gritted their teeth, forcing themselves to leave.
Soon, the huge space was left with only them.
Pheromones tore at each other like two violent hurricanes. The bitterness of cocoa and the scorching heat of gunpowder smoke burst invisible sparks in the air. Glass fragments scattered on the floor, refracting cold light.
Lu Zhi’s pupils constricted, staring dead at Zhou Lin’s hand clasped on Tang Xingye’s waist, knuckles turning white from force. His voice was cold as if quenched in ice: “Zhou Lin, don’t make me say it a second time.”
Zhou Lin laughed lightly. Not only did he not let go, but he deliberately leaned down, thin lips almost touching Tang Xingye’s burning ear tip, whispering, “Xingye, your online dating partner seems to have misunderstood something. Want to explain?”
His tone was gentle to the point of being mean, sticking to the Beta, fingers hooking the wet hair stuck to his face at the temples.
The cold Beta looked like he had been fished out of water. His shirt stuck tightly to his body, outlining a thin waist. Cool white skin glowed with faint pink. With lips slightly parted exhaling hot air, that seductive fragrance became even richer.
Zhou Lin’s Adam’s apple rolled. He had also drunk half a cup and was equally uncomfortable. Looking at Tang Xingye, the thirst suppressed by reason swept back.
Catching the Beta’s momentary eyelash flutter, Zhou Lin’s smile deepened. As expected.
Truly too interesting.
Lu Zhi’s rationality snapped completely at this moment.
“Bangโ!”
A fist wrapped in sharp wind smashed ruthlessly toward Zhou Lin’s face. Zhou Lin anticipated it, turning his head to dodge while backhanding Lu Zhi’s wrist. The two wrestled at close range, muscles tense, bones making muffled sounds.
“It’s my birthday. Crashing the party is one thing, you want to get physical with me?” Zhou Lin narrowed his eyes, the smile not reaching them.
“What did you do to him?!” Lu Zhi’s eyes were scarlet, the anger in his chest wishing he could tear Zhou Lin apart.
Zhou Lin’s mouth hooked into a mocking arc, seemingly laughing at Lu Zhi.
“Instead of asking what I did, why don’t you ask what he wanted to do?”
Lu Zhi felt struck by lightning. He subconsciously looked at Tang Xingye, only to see the young man pressing his lips tight, long lashes lowered, hiding the emotions in his eyes.
Zhou Lin took the opportunity to break free from his clamp, methodically straightening his messed-up collar.
“What, he didn’t tell you?” He looked at Lu Zhi, tone regretful. “Seems you two aren’t that close.”
Zhou Lin bent down, close to the beautiful face, whispering ambiguously like a lover, “Xingye, tell him, what was the ‘gift’ you originally wanted to prepare for me?”
A thin layer of mist surfaced in Tang Xingye’s eyes. The Alpha’s figure in his vision had started to double and blur. He was already abnormally sensitive to pheromones; the pheromones in the private room, thick enough to almost materialize, were torturing him.
He blinked, tears rolling from the corners of his eyes. His vision cleared slightly. He pinched his own palm, trying hard to maintain reason.
Tang Xingye struggled, wanting to slap Zhou Lin, but had his hand caught by the other party.
Zhou Lin turned a deaf ear, ambiguously hooking the other’s fingers, as if flirting, even pinching his fingertips.
Lu Zhi suddenly hated why his eyesight was so good that he could see their details clearly. Slender, beautiful knuckles curled slightly; a pinch made them tremble.
Tang Xingye didn’t look at him for a single moment, treating him like an insignificant passerby.
This little liar maliciously seduced him, played with him, turned around to pull away, and threw himself into someone else’s arms.
Originally, they had a chance to be open and clear everything up.
In the dorm, Zhou Lin and Tang Xingye had the best relationship. Zhou Lin had followed family arrangements since childhood. According to the Zhou family’s rigid tradition, he would only marry an Omega.
Tang Xingye had always been cold and indifferent. Even if the two were close, Lu Zhi never thought in that direction.
As a result, did Tang Xingye just treat him as a tool to relieve loneliness?
Lu Zhi felt his restraint during this period was truly ridiculous. How many people’s texts and private chats were on Tang Xingye’s phone?
