Chapter 26: The Small-Time Star and His Short-Tempered Sugar Daddy (Part XXVI)
Xiao Ji didn’t say a word, but two big words were clearly written on his face: “Don’t believe.”
This left Li Yun speechless instantly. She shut her mouth, afraid that if she said one wrong sentence, Xiao Ji would start fighting right in her face.
Once ten minutes were up, Li Yun immediately flashed away.
When Lie entered and saw Xiao Ji sitting on the coffee table, she surprisingly didn’t feel surprised in her heart. She just said hello and sat down on her own.
Xiao Ji responded, “Hello.”
Lie opened her mouth. “Do you have any hobbies normally?”
Xiao Ji: “No.”
Lie: “But I see your cooking skills are quite good. The dish at noon was fried very beautifully. I feel like you just aren’t good at expressing yourself.”
Xiao Ji: “Your illusion.”
Lie: “…This is a Q&A session. Do you have anything to ask me?”
Xiao Ji: “Potato strips—what seasoning should be added?”
Lie: “…Sorry, I’m not good at cooking. Forget it, I’ll ask.”
She thought for a moment. “Among the people currently appearing in the program, is there anyone you want to contact further?”
Xiao Ji didn’t hesitate. “Yes.”
Lie was a bit surprised now. Xiao Ji looked like he didn’t care about anything.
“I’m a little curious. If you like someone, how would you pursue them?”
Xiao Ji paused. The first face that floated in his mind was Fang Yinnian’s.
But between him and Fang Yinnian, it didn’t seem to be a question of pursuing or not pursuing; they were just a mutually willing transaction.
Fang Yinnian didn’t need him to pursue. As long as he coaxed him more and smoothed his ruffled feathers, Fang Yinnian would be very well-behaved, clingy, and cute.
Lie’s question triggered Xiao Ji’s deep thought.
He began to think, if he and Fang Yinnian hadn’t met in this way, how would he pursue Fang Yinnian?
After a long time, Xiao Ji spoke again:
“I would give him everything he wants to get from me.”
Lie was stunned. “Without holding back?”
Xiao Ji asked back, “Why hold back?”
Lie thought for a moment. “What if there is no result? Will you regret it?”
Xiao Ji said faintly, “There are too many things in the world without results. Who I like and what I give him is my own business. I don’t need anyone to be responsible for me, so where does regret come from?”
Lie’s first impression of Xiao Ji was that he was unreasonable and bad at talking.
But at this moment, she was suddenly moved by Xiao Ji’s frank attitude. She wanted to say a few more words, but unfortunately, time was up, so she could only bid farewell to Xiao Ji for now.
Gu Yao’s conversation with Fang Yinnian was a failure.
She hadn’t yet emerged from the frustrated mood just now. Seeing Xiao Ji sitting on the coffee table, she also walked to Xiao Ji’s side and leaned against the window.
The two didn’t say a word until the countdown for the talk. Gu Yao then asked a sentence:
“Do I not look good? Or do I have other obvious shortcomings?”
She asked casually, actually not expecting any answer.
Xiao Ji: “Too short.”
With a height of 168cm, Gu Yao had never been called short among girls.
She was stunned. “I’m short?”
Xiao Ji: “Not even as tall as the mirror in my house.”
Gu Yao: “…”
…
Su Yu watched Gu Yao come out. She stood at the door for about half a minute before walking into the reception room. She sat directly on the floor with her legs crossed, hands supporting her behind her back, watching the birds on the tree tips outside the window, letting the sunlight hit her face just right.
“Do you have an ideal type?”
Xiao Ji wanted to brush it off by saying no, but thinking that if Fang Yinnian reviewed the process of his conversation with others later when he had time, saying no would have predictable consequences.
So he said, “Big temper, loves to curse, petty, loves to hold grudges.”
Su Yu glanced at him, still thinking about Fang Yinnian stinging her earlier. “What about appearance?”
Xiao Ji thought for a moment. “Long legs, firm.”
Su Yu looked down at her own legs, which weren’t short either. “How long is long enough?”
Xiao Ji didn’t look at her. “Longer than yours, anyway.”
…
From the moment Xiao Ji entered the reception room and sat on the coffee table, the barrage outside the lens had been very lively:
【I guessed he wouldn’t sit on that small sofa, but I never expected he would actually occupy that small coffee table.】
【Who understands, family? Why can he be so relaxed and blunt as a person? Is there really no one in this world he cares about?】
【Li Yun didn’t dare to talk to him anymore. I feel if they kept talking, Li Yun would become his target of attack.】
【I can see Yao-Yao took a hit. Dying of laughter. President Fang is truly inhumane; I feel he’s here to crash the party.】
【Don’t be ridiculous. President Fang is okay, right? Xiao Ji is the one truly crashing the party. Of the four female guests present, the only one he probably didn’t offend is Lie, right?】
【Is Xiao Ji really attacking indiscriminately? That ideal type of his doesn’t sound like good words either.】
【Please, our Teacher Xiao is just like this. All day today, I haven’t heard a single good word come out of his mouth. Love it, love it.】
【With Teacher Xiao’s personality, he actually likes someone with a big temper? Wouldn’t he get scolded three hundred times a day?】
【Everyone’s constitution is different. Maybe he just simply enjoys being scolded?】
…
By the time the whole segment ended, the sun had already set behind the mountains.
During the program, guests had to take care of their own three meals a day. No takeout allowed, and without special circumstances, eating out wasn’t allowed either.
As for how to arrange the cooking, the program team didn’t interfere; it was entirely up to the group to discuss.
Thus, the eight people agreed on a shift system. Two people cooking and two people washing dishes every day, taking turns.
Tonight’s cooking was handed over to Zhao Jiatong and Su Yu.
While everyone was chatting, Xiao Ji glanced at Fang Yinnian and went to the bathroom, leaving the door unlocked.
Sure enough, three minutes later, Fang Yinnian pressed down the handle of the bathroom door.
He just wanted to poke his head in to see if Xiao Ji was secretly releasing water behind his back, but he was pulled directly into the door by Xiao Ji grabbing his wrist.
When the overwhelming kisses fell, Fang Yinnian’s mind went blank, focused only on responding.
Xiao Ji locked the door with one hand while supporting Fang Yinnian’s thighs to lift him up and place him on the dry vanity counter of the bathroom. Cupping his face, he kissed him while reaching out to pull the corner of Fang Yinnian’s shirt tucked into his trousers.
Fang Yinnian was bold, but the occasion was inappropriate after all. He grabbed Xiao Ji’s wrist. “Stop.”
Xiao Ji put his index finger against his own and Fang Yinnian’s lips. “Shh, don’t make a sound, baby.”
Fang Yinnian couldn’t stand Xiao Ji acting like this. The hand gripping Xiao Ji’s wrist instantly lost its strength.
He thought Xiao Ji wanted to enjoy the main course and was about to remind him that time was tight and disappearing for too long would arouse suspicion, but he found that Xiao Ji only wanted dessert before dinner.
Xiao Ji, dressed neatly, stood before the disheveled Fang Yinnian, doing all sorts of wicked things. Only after Fang Yinnian found a gap to give him a not-too-heavy backhanded slap did he turn his head and chuckle lightly.
Fang Yinnian gasped for breath, raising a hand to cover his eyes, and cursed with a smile:
“You bastard. If people find out, just wait for death.”
Xiao Ji remained indifferent, leaning in to kiss him again. “I don’t care.”
Fang Yinnian asked, “What do you care about?”
Xiao Ji bit his lower lip. “I only care if you feel good.”
