Chapter 036: An Option, But Not Recommended
“What?!”
The Alpha’s understated remark startled Su Tang so much that he sat bolt upright in Ye Chiyu’s arms.
He moved so suddenly and urgently that even Ye Chiyu didn’t have time to react. Driven by sheer inertia, Su Tangโs body began to tip over, threatening to crash straight onto the floor.
“Ahโ!”
“Tang Tang!”
Fortunately, Ye Chiyu had quick reflexes. He bent down and extended his arm, scooping back the little guy who had been moments away from an intimate encounter with the floorboards. His back broke out in a cold sweat from the scare.
There was no carpet on the floor; if the back of his head had hit the ground directly, it could have been incredibly dangerous.
Having been rescued, Su Tang was still in a daze. He lay obediently in the Alpha’s embrace, his beautiful little face pale with fright, his eyes filled with lingering anxiety and terror.
Ye Chiyu had intended to scold him a little, telling Su Tang not to be so rash and to be more careful in the future. But seeing how terrified the little guy was, the lecture died in his throat.
In the end, the countless words in President Ye’s heart condensed into a helpless sigh. Like coaxing a child, he gently patted the Omega’s back with his warm palm.
“You, ah…”
You really leave me with no other choice.
Su Tang had scared himself too. It took him a while to snap out of his trance. The fright came and went quickly, but when he looked up and saw the distress in Mr. Ye’s eyes, regret filled his heart.
He knew his personality was a bit reckless and prone to overreaction. If Mr. Ye hadn’t caught him just now, what would he have done if he had cracked his head open and turned stupid?
“Mr. Ye, I’m sorry…”
Su Tang crawled out of the Alpha’s arms. He sat beside Ye Chiyu with his hands resting obediently on his knees, looking at the Alpha and scratching his head in embarrassment.
“I was just too excited earlier. I didn’t expect you to…”
His tone gradually grew despondent, visibly becoming depressed.
After all, just last night he was worrying about his contract, and after only one night, Mr. Ye told him he had already handled the termination with Chengran Entertainment.
He knew Mr. Ye was very capable and that terminating a contract was likely just a wave of a hand for him. However, deep down, he didn’t want to trouble Mr. Ye with such small matters.
He should bear the consequences of his own actions.
He had signed the contract with Chengran Entertainment himself. He had made the decision casually without investigating the company properly. Now, Mr. Ye had to clean up his mess.
Su Tang had his own stubbornness. He was grateful for Ye Chiyu’s help, but at the same time, he hated how small his own capabilities were. Since getting married, Mr. Ye had solved everything. It felt like he was enjoying all of this without having done anything to deserve it.
Sensing Su Tang’s emotions, the usually cold and ruthless President of the Ye Corporation found himself at a loss. He took both of Su Tang’s hands in his.
“Tang Tang, are you unhappy because I terminated the contract without your permission?”
Su Tang kept his head down, silent, his mind a mess.
Heaven knew how panicked this version of Su Tang made Ye Chiyu feel. He was afraid his unilateral action had angered his little partner. If the little one got angry and threatened to leave, what would he do?
In the ten seconds Su Tang remained silent, time seemed to freeze for Ye Chiyu.
“Mr. Ye.”
The Omega, who had been silent for a long while, finally spoke. He slowly raised his head and stared earnestly at his Alpha.
Ye Chiyu hurriedly responded, “Tang Tang, I’m here.”
Su Tang squeezed the Alpha’s hand back, his expression firm.
“I’m not unhappy that you helped me terminate the contract. I just feel that my own strength is too small, while you are so powerful and can accomplish anything.”
“I am very grateful that you solved this for me, but I feel a little sad that I didn’t do anything myself. But just a tiny, tiny bit sad, not a lot…”
So, the little guy’s pride was hurt. The expression on Ye Chiyu’s handsome face finally relaxed. Aside from heartache for his little Omega, he felt a sense of relief and gratification.
“Tang Tang, I was indeed inconsiderate regarding the unauthorized termination. I apologize for not discussing it with you beforehand. I forgot that my Tang Tang is also a capable little man who stands tall and upright. Even without my help, you definitely would have found a way to solve it, right?”
The Alpha’s voice was low and gentle. Every word he spoke was like a soothing melody, calming Su Tang’s heart.
Su Tang bit his lip. His large, beautiful eyes stared unblinkingly at his Alpha. Suddenly, he burst into a smile, revealing two cute little canine teeth.
“Mr. Ye, you know what?”
Seeing the little guy finally smile, Ye Chiyu breathed a sigh of relief. He stared dotingly at his little Omega, his expression tender.
“Hmm? Know what?”
Su Tang closed his eyes and leaned his head on the Alpha’s shoulder. He stretched his arms out in a big lazy stretch, letting out a comfortable hum through his nose.
He opened his eyes and rubbed his fluffy head against the Alpha’s shoulder. Looking at the display wall in the living room filled with his figurines and Ye Chiyu’s ship models, his eyes sparkled with brilliance.
Ye Chiyu waited quietly, enjoying his little Omega’s affectionate behavior while turning to look at Su Tang’s beautiful profile, the corners of his mouth tilting upward.
“Before going to sleep last night, I was thinking about borrowing some money from you directly to pay the penalty fee and terminate the contract, or maybe borrowing some from my sister.”
“Ahem, Mr. Ye, you know I’m a bit short on cash right now. I even planned to write you an IOU…”
Su Tang gave an unnatural dry cough, his face heating up slightly.
He hadn’t even paid Mr. Ye for the marital home yet, and here he was, thinking about borrowing money again. It felt shameful just saying it out loud.
But that really had been the only feasible solution.
“So,” Ye Chiyu smiled at Su Tang, “is my Tang Tang going to write me an IOU now?”
Su Tang gave a serious “En.” He slid off the Alpha and dashed into the study. Opening a Word document, he typed away on the keyboard, making it clatter loudly.
Ye Chiyu sat in the computer chair next to Su Tang, not looking at what the little guy was typing. Only when the printer whirred to life did he extend his well-defined fingers to take the sheet of white paper.
It was indeed the little guy’s IOU.
Putting aside the incorrect formatting, the listed clauses treated him purely as a sucker. It made Ye Chiyu chuckle.
[First, if Su Tang cannot repay Mr. Ye the penalty fee within 3 years, he will voluntarily wash dishes for the rest of his life and give Mr. Ye shoulder massages and back rubs every day.]
[Second, if he still cannot repay it within 5 years, it means Su Tang’s career is truly rugged and unlucky, and he cannot make money. He will consider other means of livelihood to repay the debt! PS: Paying with his body is an option, but not recommended!]
