Chapter 73: What a Clumsy Lie

Finally seeing a familiar face other than Xie Miaohan, Gu Huaiye revealed a smile, his eyes bright with joy.

Just as he opened his mouth to call out to Chen Zirui, Chen Zirui suddenly put a finger to his lips, making a shushing motion.

Gu Huaiye was stunned, then saw Chen Zirui hide behind a tree as Xie Miaohan’s subordinates walked past carrying guns.

Gu Huaiye breathed a sigh of relief and glared helplessly at Chen Zirui.

“Brother Gu, I’m here to save you!” Chen Zirui said with an excited expression. “There’s a car waiting outside to take us back to District A. Can you get out?”

Gu Huaiye turned to look at Chen Zirui. “Aren’t we going to save your brother first?”

At the mention of Chen Xialin, Chen Zirui’s face became solemn.

Xiang Wanxing had indeed helped find Chen Xialin’s location, but the person was locked up, and the door required a double password.

Only Xie Miaohan knew the password. He couldn’t get in; at most, he could arrange for someone to pass a message inside, telling Chen Xialin not to be afraid for now and that they would rescue him once Xie Miaohan let his guard down.
