Chapter 29: Clingy Again
Inside the elevator, Duan Ke woke up in a daze.
For some reason, he smelled a particularly nasty demonic aura in his sleep. It carried a sense of greed and aggression, along with the heavy, unique stench of a rotting corpse. It was nauseating. The pleasant scent on Qin Huai had been muddled away by this disgusting smell.
In his dream, Duan Ke instantly fell from Cotton Candy Heaven into a pile of rotten eggs. He woke up angry, humming as he opened his eyes, but found nothing abnormal. That evil aura had already dissipated.
“Brother, my key is in my left pocket… didn’t lose it this time.”
Duan Ke yawned. “Thank you for taking me home… Haa-wu.”
Qin Huai turned his head, patted him lightly on the back, and gave a faint “Mn.”
Duan Ke’s eyes were still a bit sore, and the light in the elevator was glaring, so he closed his eyes to fake sleep. Only after feeling his back touch soft sheets did Duan Ke open his eyes.
“Thank you, Brother… Hmm?”
Duan Ke looked left and right, bewildered. Grey sheets, two simple white pillows, a minimalist room layout, and that familiar woody scent.
Isn’t this Qin Huai’s room? Why did we go to the wrong door?
Did he not find the key?
Full of confusion, Duan Ke reached into his left pocket and found the key without any obstruction.
…O.o?
Lying on the grey sheets, Duan Ke rolled Qin Huai’s blanket into a ball in his arms and looked at Qin Huai in puzzlement. “Brother, did you check the wrong pocket just now? It was easy to find.”
“Sorry, I didn’t hear you speak just now,” Qin Huai said indifferently while grabbing some clothes. “Do you want to go back now?”
…Didn’t hear?
But Duan Ke clearly remembered him humming a response.
Maybe I was sleep-addled and hallucinated it. Duan Ke didn’t overthink it and rolled twice on the bed. “Can I not go back? It’s so late, I don’t want to walk over.”
…Actually, I just want to sleep smelling Qin Huai’s scent, and I want to be hugged by Qin Huai.
Duan Ke buried his face in the quilt, trying to hide it, wanting to cover his face which had started burning inexplicably again. But within two seconds, he was dug out by Qin Huai, who held the back of his neck and wouldn’t let him bury himself.
“Don’t bury yourself, you’ll suffocate.” Qin Huai rubbed Duan Ke’s head soothingly. “If you’re tired, sleep first. The pillow is over there.”
Qin Huai held his clothes in one hand and pressed the back of the other against Duan Ke’s forehead to check his temperature. In the car earlier, Duan Ke’s body temperature had been consistently hot, and Qin Huai suspected a low fever.
Fortunately, after the release, Duan Ke had recovered somewhat, and his temperature had gone down.
After confirming he wasn’t uncomfortable, Qin Huai lifted the hem of his shirt expressionlessly and looked at Duan Ke’s slightly soft lower abdomen.
The demon markings were still deeper than at the beginning, but not as ferocious. It indicated that the magic power within Duan Ke was abundant and he wouldn’t lose control due to estrus again.
Qin Huai relaxed, casually told him to sleep if he was sleepy, tucked Duan Ke in, and got up to go to the bathroom to shower.
After Qin Huai left, the room suddenly fell silent.
Leaning against one pillow and hugging the other, Duan Ke stared blankly at the ceiling, his golden-brown curly hair spread smoothly over the sheets.
…So full.
He rubbed his stomach with complex feelings.
He had been made overly comfortable by Qin Huai in the restroom earlier, but not to the point of passing out completely. He had just been too groggy to walk and was carried into the car by Qin Huai.
But Duan Ke needed bodily fluids to truly fill his stomach. What Qin Huai did for him only relieved the sudden lust; it treated the symptoms but not the root cause. To completely free him from the estrus period, Qin Huai had dutifully kissed him in the car.
Duan Ke really couldn’t remember how many times they kissed; he lost count.
In short, Qin Huai had kissed him into a stupor, and he had slept all the way until now.
Duan Ke touched his bulging belly, feeling a lingering fear.
So full. I bet a week ago I wouldn’t have dreamed I’d be this stuffed one day, considering I was anxious about starving to death back then.
…But this is probably a one-time thing.
Duan Ke turned over, unconsciously sniffing the clean, brooding scent on the pillow in his arms.
This was a sudden emergency, which is why Brother Qin Huai fed me so dutifully.
Considering Brother used to not even accept kissing, he probably won’t be willing to cooperate so excessively in the future. It’ll just be the basic subsistence state of twice a week.
Duan Ke was too stuffed to sleep, so he reached over to grab his phone. Upon opening it, he saw many unread messages.
[Lord Duan Ke, I finished the movie. Do you still want to ask questions? I called but you didn’t pick up.]
[Lord Duan Ke? Are you busy?]
[Oh, oh, I get it. Lord Duan Ke, if you are eating, no need to reply. Talk to you when you’re done. Bon appétit.]
[Peko-chan Tongue.jpg]
Looking at this string of messages, Duan Ke remembered he had silenced his phone in the cinema. He lay on his back on the bed, typing a reply slowly.
[I went to the movies just now too, so I muted my phone. Sorry.]
[I’m full now. I kissed my keeper so many times tonight, I’m super stuffed now QAQ. Can’t sleep.]
“Typing…” appeared immediately at the top of the chat box. It seemed Xu Jue wasn’t asleep yet.
Duan Ke waited patiently for Xu Jue’s message, but the “Typing…” flashed several times without any message popping up.
[…Lord Duan Ke, did you make a typo? By “kissed” you mean…?]
The message finally arrived, but Duan Ke didn’t quite understand it.
He reread the chat history and replied seriously:
[No typo, just kissing.]
[…]
Xu Jue had just made his keeper faint and was currently using charm magic to give himself a happy extra meal.
But looking at Duan Ke’s messages now, his appetite was shocked right out of him. He pinched his arm hard twice to confirm he wasn’t dreaming.
[Lord Duan Ke, forgive my boldness, but why use kissing to feed?? Not doing it??]
[You are the Progenitor Succubus! Just kissing—how many times would you have to kiss to get full? Even kissing for 48 hours straight wouldn’t work, right??]
Xu Jue’s skepticism was actually quite reasonable. An ordinary human probably couldn’t feed Duan Ke full even if their mouth went numb from kissing.
As the Progenitor Succubus, possessing extreme power also required consuming a considerable amount of magic, so Duan Ke’s appetite naturally grew large.
But… Duan Ke glanced back at the closed bathroom door, his eyes drifting.
My keeper is indeed quite impressive, and matches my appetite well.
The next three minutes were the most shocking three minutes of Xu Jue’s demonic life. Duan Ke explained in detail on WeChat his feeding experiences after meeting Qin Huai.
From Qin Huai resisting physical contact with him, to him reluctantly proposing two kisses a week, to kissing until stuffed just now.
After explaining, Duan Ke lay on his stomach on the bed kicking his legs, watching the “Typing…” at the top flash on and off.
After choking on his words for nearly a minute, Xu Jue finally squeezed out a reply.
[…Wow.]
[This… your subordinate is truly incompetent. I can’t tell if your keeper has a stomach condition (bad appetite) or is just magnificent… [Crying Bean]]
After typing this sentence, Xu Jue started “Typing…” again, seeming to have endless complaints but not knowing where to start. But before he could squeeze it out this time, the back of Duan Ke’s hand holding the phone was gently tapped.
The bathroom door was open, but there was no steam at all—instead, there was a bone-chilling coldness.
“Not sleepy anymore?” Qin Huai lowered his eyes lazily, icy water dripping from the ends of his hair. “If you’re playing on your phone, sit up.”
Duan Ke looked up, somewhat dazed. He usually wore loose clothes, and his frame was small. Lying on his stomach, the clothes on his shoulders and waist draped naturally, revealing a small section of his rounded shoulder and waistline.
Seeing him like this, Qin Huai’s Adam’s apple rolled twice. He didn’t want to have taken a cold shower for nothing, so he simply lifted Duan Ke up to sit properly, then went to the side to blow-dry his hair.
While drying his hair, Qin Huai recalled the Dream Demon file he had asked Lin Jiangli to send him in the bathroom.
…Although the Administration Bureau didn’t have much personnel, they were reliable, so monsters with unknown strength, identity, and location rarely appeared. But most of the Dream Demon’s file was blank; the Bureau couldn’t even track it in real-time.
“Duan Ke, how are your offensive abilities?”
“Hmm?” Duan Ke maintained the standard healthy sitting posture Qin Huai put him in, playing Snake.
“My offensive ability… is very average. I count as the weakest kind among monsters. Why?”
According to Duan Ke’s impression, he wasn’t lying. Succubi were strong in mind control, not attack power. But ordinary-level mind control usually only worked on humans and was basically ineffective against monsters.
Before he took human form, Duan Ke Ball was once entangled by a low-level monster formed from chewing gum. One ball and one gum fought on the ground for hours. Only when the Chewing Gum Spirit fainted from exhaustion and lost its stickiness did Duan Ke seize the opportunity to escape, hopping away from the scene of the crime. That showed how low his combat power was.
“Nothing, just curious about a kitten’s destructive power,” Qin Huai responded casually. “Seems you don’t like destroying the house.”
Qin Huai finished drying his hair and sat on the edge of the bed. Duan Ke handed him a pillow to lean on.
The two leaned against the headboard side by side. The significant size difference meant Duan Ke could lean on Qin Huai’s shoulder just by tilting to the right. However, Duan Ke felt he was a guest and should probably mind human etiquette, so he scooted to the right, giving Qin Huai more space.
Qin Huai didn’t react visibly but scooted toward Duan Ke, leaving a strange empty space on the already small bed.
He took out his phone and glanced expressionlessly out the window. The originally clear night sky had darkened, covered by a thick layer of ominous clouds—stiflingly breathless, yet not raining.
Qin Huai withdrew his gaze and messaged Lin Jiangli. The white cold light of the phone hit his narrow eyes, making them appear utterly indifferent.
[Arrange an identity for me that can freely enter and exit A University recently. Before 9 AM tomorrow.]
Already anticipating that Lin Jiangli would send some boring and noisy complaints, Qin Huai locked his phone coldly after sending the message and set it aside.
He turned back to look at Duan Ke, surprisingly finding the little guy staring straight at him.
That gaze… was unusually scorching. Qin Huai instinctively felt an unspeakable danger. If this person weren’t Duan Ke, he might have already drawn his gun.
But since it was Duan Ke, he had no choice. Qin Huai remained silent for a few seconds before kindly reminding him, “Duan Ke, the snake is about to hit the wall.”
Duan Ke gave a startled yelp, looking back at his phone as if waking from a dream, sadly discovering his corpse had almost been eaten clean.
Unconvinced, Duan Ke started another round. While waiting for it to load, Qin Huai noticed his almond eyes squinting to glance over again, looking away after two seconds.
Then aiming back again.
…What is he doing? I’m not a cat teaser stick.
Qin Huai silently pondered the monster’s motives; non-human behavior was always hard to fathom.
It shouldn’t be a discomfort seeking attention; there didn’t seem to be anything unusual about him that was more attractive than the game Snake.
Qin Huai’s reactions were very fast. His brain, adept at handling cases, connected some subtle clues. From the burning gaze when Duan Ke first saw him, to the peeking from the wardrobe, to the furtive glances just now.
…
Uh-huh.
Qin Huai understood. With one hand casually playing with his phone, his other hand naturally unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt, revealing perfectly exercised, full pectoral muscles.
The movement was incredibly natural, as if he were just a bit hot, completely lacking the shame usually associated with seduction.
Qin Huai left his front open, reading work messages without changing his expression. Two minutes later, he turned his head and let his gaze fall on Duan Ke’s screen.
Facing the big “Game over,” Qin Huai really couldn’t hold it back, turning his head to let out a low, muffled laugh.
…Truly a little pervert.
Bad and cute.
“Lord Duan Ke! Lord Duan Ke!”
The Little Black Ball bounced thump-thump on Duan Ke’s shoulder. “Lord Duan Ke, what’s wrong? Did you not rest well last night?”
“No… I slept pretty well. I woke up after ten this morning.”
…It was just that after seeing Qin Huai’s chest muscles, he dreamed of sliding down cotton candy all night. He woke up inexplicably feeling stuffed to the point of wanting to vomit, so he appeared listless now.
Duan Ke didn’t know why either. After digesting all night, he felt even fuller than when he had just kissed last night. He was getting indigestion. Duan Ke held the stair railing, rushing upstairs as fast as he could.
After class, he had taken a nearby errand run and had to get the documents from the location designated by the other party as soon as possible. He wasn’t like Heracles, caring about the small tip; it was just that the person posting the errand seemed anxious, and since he was going that way, he wanted to help.
“The location the senior gave, let me see… A408.”
The academic building was huge, and the corridor was very long. Duan Ke counted the rooms one by one.
“Lord Duan Ke, isn’t it daytime? Why is this corridor so dark?”
Little Black Ball bounced on Duan Ke’s shoulder like a piece of jelly. “The lights are still on. Such a waste of electricity.”
“I don’t know. Maybe it’s designed this way?”
Duan Ke counted to A407 and took a happy step forward, expecting to find the next classroom, but stopped abruptly.
…There was no A408. Only a pale white wall.
Suddenly, the lights behind Duan Ke went out one after another, until the one directly above his head also extinguished abruptly. The entire corridor became so pitch-black nothing could be seen.
“…Oh-oh.” Little Black Ball shrank into Duan Ke’s collar. “Someone has come to offend you, Lord Duan Ke.”
[Author’s Note]
[Small Theater]:
Last night, Qin Huai held Duan Ke and was so charmed by his wife’s little snores that he had complete insomnia. So he kissed him every ten minutes, gradually going from light tastes to deep French kisses.
Little Ke opens his eyes the next day: Blegh, so full, what happened?
Just a heads up, the update on 8/4 will be after 11:30 PM. From 8/5 onwards, updates will be fixed at 9 PM every night. [Let me see] Thank you everyone for your support along the way~
