Chapter 74: How Could You Leave Without Goodbye?
“You haven’t told me yet how you got Xie Miaohan’s subordinates to leave.” Gu Huaiye paused, his eyes full of worry. “Are you really okay?”
“I’m fine, what could happen to me?” Chen Zirui waved his hand, putting on a brave face. “I know an important figure in the military from back when I served; he stepped in to smooth things over.”
“That impressive?” Gu Huaiye exclaimed. “Why didn’t you mention him before? Can you introduce me? I’d like to thank him in person.”
Chen Zirui: “…”
Introducing these two? I’d rather die.
Chen Zirui planned to kick Xiang Wanxing to the curb as soon as he rescued Chen Xialin and never contact that kissing maniac again.
“He’s rather shy; he might be too embarrassed to meet you,” Chen Zirui lied.
The driver in front couldn’t hold it in and burst out laughing.
Chen Zirui quietly glared at the back of the driver’s head.
“There are shy people in the military?” Gu Huaiye didn’t notice anything amiss with the two in the car and smiled. “That’s a pity. Please convey my thanks to him for me.”
Chen Zirui gave a weird “Mhm.”
Convey my ass. Your good brother already sacrificed his first kiss.
Chen Zirui felt disgusted enough to die; he really wanted to disinfect his mouth with bleach.
Judging from the kissing skills, Xiang Wanxing definitely had plenty of experience in love. Chen Zirui just felt defiled.
He didn’t know how many people that mouth of Xiang Wanxing’s had kissed.
If he could kiss even him, there must be quite a few.
“Let me lean on you.” Gu Huaiye had been on edge these past few days and hadn’t rested well. He leaned his head on Chen Zirui’s shoulder. “Wake me up when we get to District A.”
“Sure, go to sleep.”
The driver glanced at the rearview mirror, wondering if he should report this scene to the Young Master.
But the two got along so much like sisters; it probably didn’t matter if he didn’t report it.
Just as the driver withdrew his gaze, he suddenly saw a car following closely behind them, looking like it was about to ram them at any moment.
The muscles on his face immediately tensed, and he stepped on the gas to speed up.
The two resting against each other in the back also sensed something was wrong.
“What’s happening?” Chen Zirui asked.
“Someone’s chasing us,” the driver said. “Put on your seatbelts; I’ll find a way to shake off the car behind.”
Chen Zirui quickly looked out the window and, sure enough, saw a black sedan in hot pursuit.
“Fuck, how does Xiang Wanxing do things? How did he let someone catch up?” Chen Zirui blurted out.
“Xiang Wanxing?” Gu Huaiye looked over in confusion.
Chen Zirui: “…”
“Did I mention Xiang Wanxing?” Chen Zirui’s eyes darted around. “You must have misheard.”
Gu Huaiye: “…”
“Fasten your seatbelts quickly,” the driver scolded. “This isn’t the time to joke around.”
Gu Huaiye and Chen Zirui exchanged a glance and immediately fastened their seatbelts.
At this moment, the car following them suddenly caught up, rolled down the window, and revealed Xie Miaohan’s gloomy face.
Gu Huaiye locked eyes with Xie Miaohan through the window. His heart pounded like thunder, and he looked away in fear.
“Holy shit, it’s actually Xie Miaohan,” Chen Zirui said in surprise. “Isn’t he suppressing a riot? How did he come back so suddenly?”
Could it be that Xiang Wanxing’s intel was inaccurate?
Truly a useless Omega.
His first kiss was wasted for nothing.
“Huaiye, don’t make me angry. Stop the car right now!” Xie Miaohan shouted at him while driving. “How could you leave me at a time like this? Do you know I almost… Forget it, stop the car. If you come down obediently, I won’t be angry.”
Gu Huaiye naturally heard Xie Miaohan’s voice. He bit his lip tightly and didn’t respond.
“Ignore him.” Chen Zirui closed the window, blocking out Xie Miaohan’s voice. “Don’t be afraid. As long as we shake him off, we’ll be safe.”
Gu Huaiye nodded and closed his eyes, refusing to look at the situation outside the window.
He didn’t know how much time had passed when a violent crash sounded in his ears. The car they were in shook, and their bodies lurched forward.
He opened his eyes in panic and realized their car had been forced to stop.
That madman Xie Miaohan… actually rammed their car.
The driver’s head had hit the steering wheel; he was clutching his forehead, looking in pain.
“Are you okay?” Chen Zirui looked Gu Huaiye over nervously. “Are you hurt anywhere?”
Gu Huaiye shook his head. “I’m fine.”
Fortunately, the driver had reminded them to fasten their seatbelts, so they were unharmed.
Before the two could breathe a sigh of relief, the car door next to Gu Huaiye suddenly opened.
Xie Miaohan leaned down, his eyes dark and terrifying.
He looked at Gu Huaiye and curved his lips into a smile. “Husband, how could you leave without saying goodbye? Our wedding date is approaching; what am I supposed to do?”
Gu Huaiye was dumbfounded with fear and couldn’t say a word for a long time.
Xie Miaohan lost his patience. He directly unbuckled Gu Huaiye’s seatbelt and carried him out.
Chen Zirui reacted first and cursed at Xie Miaohan, “Are you sick? Ramming us like that—aren’t you afraid we’d lose our lives?”
Xie Miaohan laughed.
“I am afraid. But it doesn’t matter. Whether you go to heaven or hell, I will catch up.”
He leaned into Gu Huaiye’s ear and whispered, “See? After you jumped to your death, didn’t I chase after you?”
