Chapter 75: Control Your Man

Gu Huaiye was frightened by the series of events that had just occurred. His face was pale, and his body trembled slightly.

Xie Miaohan naturally noticed this. He paused, reining in his hostility.

He nuzzled his face against Gu Huaiye’s forehead, seemingly trying to curry favor.

Unfortunately, Gu Huaiye didn’t notice these subtle actions at all and dared not look at Xie Miaohan.

Chen Zirui hurriedly unbuckled his seatbelt and chased after them.

Xie Miaohan didn’t want to engage with Chen Zirui at all, carrying Gu Huaiye toward his own car.

Xie Miaohan’s eyes turned cold. He pulled out a gun and pointed it at Chen Zirui’s forehead. “Don’t disturb us again, or you know the consequences.”

Chen Zirui had never been on a battlefield, nor had he ever had a gun pointed at his head like this. His legs went weak with fright.

“Don’t.” Gu Huaiye grabbed Xie Miaohan’s collar. “Don’t hurt him. I’ll go with you.”

Xie Miaohan didn’t holster the gun, staring coldly at Chen Zirui, who repeatedly came to disturb him and Gu Huaiye.

Just then, a car drove up and stopped beside them.

Xiang Wanxing got out of the driver’s seat. Seeing the scene before him, a trace of anger flashed through his eyes.

He strode over and pressed his hand on the gun barrel.

“Xie Miaohan, you’re going a bit too far,” Xiang Wanxing said gravely. “You’ve only just taken office; you don’t have the power to block out the sky with one hand. ‘Carefulness steers the ship for ten thousand years’—you should understand this principle.”

He really didn’t understand. Xie Miaohan and Gu Huaiye didn’t have much interaction.

Why was it that as soon as something happened with Gu Huaiye, Xie Miaohan would lose his reason completely and disregard everything else?

Xie Miaohan put away the gun and said expressionlessly to Xiang Wanxing, “Control your man.”

Xiang Wanxing laughed out of extreme anger. “Now it’s your turn to threaten me?”

Xie Miaohan left with Gu Huaiye.

Chen Zirui’s legs were trembling uncontrollably. Finally unable to hold on, he sank to his knees.

Xiang Wanxing frowned, his tone clearly displeased.

There were people planted by Xiang Wanxing in the army led by Xie Miaohan.

According to the intelligence they provided, while Xie Miaohan was suppressing the riot, a subordinate received a call from the villa and ran to tell Xie Miaohan that Gu Huaiye had run away.

Xie Miaohan panicked for a minute, and a rioter suddenly pulled out a gun, aiming at Xie Miaohan’s heart.

If a subordinate hadn’t noticed in time and warned Xie Miaohan to be careful, allowing him to snap back to reality and dodge the bullet, he probably would have died in that riot.

Chen Zirui stared at him curiously. “What are you cooperating on?”

“Then don’t get in my car.”

“You’re going to leave me on the highway?”

Xiang Wanxing hooked his finger at him. “Kiss my cheek, and I’ll give you a ride.”

He sat down directly on the ground. “I’ll wait right here for a hitchhike.”

Xiang Wanxing laughed helplessly. “Forget it, this one’s free. Shorty, come sit in this car. That one was in an accident; it’s not safe.”

Chen Zirui stood up immediately. “Huh? Then you don’t care about your driver?”

“I’ll arrange for a tow truck.” Xiang Wanxing opened the passenger door and urged, “Hurry up, or I might change my mind.”

Chen Zirui walked over reluctantly and got into the car.

After Xiang Wanxing started the car, Chen Zirui realized they were heading toward District B.

“Aren’t you taking me home?”

“Your brother and your best friend are both in District B. Can you go back to District A with peace of mind?”

Chen Zirui fell silent. Indeed, he couldn’t.

“I have a villa under my name; I’ll take you there to stay.” Xiang Wanxing glanced at Chen Zirui, his tone a bit disdainful. “You’ve been wearing these clothes for days, you dirty little stray dog.”

Chen Zirui pursed his lips. To avoid being thrown out of the car by Xiang Wanxing, he had to swallow the word ‘Omegas.’

“Not for now. Xie Miaohan is probably guarding against even me. I reckon an opportunity like today won’t come again.”

“Then can I still see Brother Gu?” Chen Zirui asked again.

“You can, but you have to pay something.”

Even if he found out, so what? Could Gu Huaiye boss him around?
