Chapter 62
Shen Shuyu took a deep, silent breath, though his face remained etched with sadness. “Forget it, Yanxun Ge… no, the Captain. He probably doesn’t want to see me. When Mingyue Ge gets back, you guys just leave on your own.”
Lin Xuyi spoke up, “The Captain is just confused. Even if they leave you behind, I, your good brother, won’t leave you.”
“That was a bit much,” Shen Shuyu said, looking at him with a complicated expression. “You don’t have to say it like that next time.”
Lin Xuyi chuckled twice. “It doesn’t matter, as long as the Young Master is happy. We have a deal, so don’t be unhappy anymore.”
Shen Shuyu looked at Lin Xuyi and raised an eyebrow slightly. “Got it.”
Only then did Lin Xuyi feel his internal squad mission was complete. He was just a peacemaker; he couldn’t stand seeing this kind of friction. Besides, he genuinely felt that Chi Yanxun was in the wrong regarding today’s events.
Thinking of this, he glanced at Chi Yanxun, who was sitting on the other side. Chi Yanxun had already closed his eyes for a nap, acting as if he were deaf to the world outside the window.
Lin Xuyi turned back to look at Shen Shuyu. Sensing that the Young Master wasn’t as depressed as before, he couldn’t help but click his tongue internally. Unrequited love was truly the bitterest thing.
The group rested for a while amidst the awkward atmosphere. Shen Shuyu still slept remarkably well; after all, the only plot point left for him now was to be eliminated.
He didn’t know how long he had slept when Wen Jiafei woke him up. He glanced at Wen Jiafei, noticed the solemn expression on his face, and asked, “What happened?”
“He Mingyue is back,” Wen Jiafei said.
Wasn’t He Mingyue coming back a good thing? Why was he so serious?
Before he could ask, Wen Jiafei continued, “He was marched back at gunpoint by people from Planet Puce.”
Shen Shuyu’s brain cleared instantly. His elimination scene—it was here!
He looked around. Everyone in the room wore solemn expressions, especially Chi Yanxun, whose face was as dark as it could possibly get. He stood by the window, watching three figures slowly approaching in the distance.
Shen Shuyu couldn’t help but walk over to take a look. It really was He Mingyue. There were already two blue marks on his clothes; if the people from Planet Puce fired just one more shot, He Mingyue would be eliminated immediately.
“Captain, what do we do now?”
Lin Xuyi looked at the tablet. The rest of the Planet Puce team was following closely behind. It seemed they weren’t far away, likely staying close to provide better support in case of emergencies.
In every Survival Battle, they and Planet Amor fought inextricably. This year was actually decent; since they had cleared the levels quickly, they were only running into them now.
Shen Shuyu thought for a moment and said, “How about I go and exchange myself for Mingyue Ge? After all, I’m the one they want to eliminate.”
“Stay put,” Chi Yanxun said in a low voice. “This isn’t the time for you to play the hero.”
Shen Shuyu lowered his eyes and stopped talking.
A moment later, he felt a light tug on his sleeve. Lin Xuyi raised an eyebrow at him and stuffed a few mint candies into his hand, seemingly trying to comfort him.
Shen Shuyu whispered a thank you and walked to the side with the candy.
The people from Planet Puce soon marched He Mingyue to the outside of the safe house. The two opponents exchanged a glance; their tablet indicated that the targets were right here.
The one holding the gun signaled the other with his eyes. The other nodded, walked forward swaggeringly, and shouted loudly, “Rivals from Amor, we’ve brought your partner back! Aren’t you going to come out and take a look?”
Inside the house, Shen Xili put his hand on the gun tucked at his waist and leaned against the door. As soon as Chi Yanxun gave the order, he would rush out at top speed to hold the opponents hostage.
The other two were also ready to go. Shen Shuyu was the only one leisurely sitting on a stool eating candy. It wasn’t that he was lazy; the four of them simply didn’t want him to go out.
Given his combat power, it was easier for them if he sat inside quietly until the fight was over.
Receiving no response, the Planet Puce member looked back at his companion. That man lifted his chin, signaling him to keep shouting.
“Our request is actually very simple. Hand over the one called Shen Shuyu from your team, and we will return He Mingyue to you. We absolutely keep our word.”
Still no answer. The man with the gun pushed He Mingyue forward a bit. He Mingyue stumbled forward lazily, and despite being shoved, he still had the leisure to say, “Can you push lighter? I don’t have any energy.”
Ye Yang of Planet Puce frowned. “Why do you talk so much?”
Hearing this, He Mingyue lifted his chin toward the shouting man. “No matter how much I talk, it’s not as much as him. My ears are almost deaf from the journey.”
Ye Yang ignored him and pressed the gun against his waist. If he made a wrong move, he would be eliminated immediately.
Ye Yang shouted to his partner, “Bai Wei, stop shouting. Let him shout.”
Bai Wei returned to Ye Yang’s side. Ye Yang pressed the gun harder into He Mingyue’s waist. “Hurry up and tell them to come out. Our Captain said we only want to eliminate Shen Shuyu. We’ll see the rest at the final competition.”
It was already the third day of the process. They had encountered other teams, but both sides had amicably agreed to rely on their own abilities at the final level. This year’s competition focused on peace and friendliness.
But unexpectedly, one of their team members had been eliminated. Since they couldn’t see the replays inside the battlefield, they didn’t even know how their teammate was eliminated. When they asked He Mingyue, he played dumb, acting as if he didn’t know either.
The key point was that this Shen Shuyu was protected too well! Before entering the battlefield, they had reviewed almost every student who might participate, but there was no one named Shen Shuyu. They didn’t know this person’s background, but anyone who could eliminate one of their fierce generals must be a strong ability user.
The people of Planet Amor were indeed cunning! To hide someone so deep!
Seeing He Mingyue remain silent, Ye Yang urged him again, “Call them. Once they’re out, we’ll let you go.”
Only then did He Mingyue react. He yelled, “Planet Puce says if you send Shen Shuyu out, they’ll let me go. But before this, they already shot me twice, so I don’t know if what they’re saying is true or false.”
Ye Yang said expressionlessly, “We of Planet Puce have absolute integrity.”
He Mingyue glanced at him sideways, his face full of disbelief.
Believe a rival? If he did that, electronic sows could fly.
However, just as his voice fell, the door of the safe house suddenly opened. A thin figure walked out. He looked completely relaxed, walking out of the safe house as if he were walking out of his own front door into a courtyard.
He Mingyue frowned slightly. The person who came out really was Shen Shuyu.
Shen Shuyu glanced at him, giving him a reassuring look. “You called for me?”
Ye Yang and Bai Wei looked at each other, both seeing silence in the other’s eyes. Why was it an Omega??
As if knowing what they were thinking, Shen Shuyu said, “What’s wrong with an Omega? Didn’t an Omega still eliminate that guy… what was his name… Yuan something?”
Shen Shuyu stretched his waist. “I’m out now. Let him go.”
Ye Yang didn’t move, looking around vigilantly to prevent a sudden attack from the rest of the Amor team.
Shen Shuyu said, “You guys are so weird. You tell me to come out, I come out, and you won’t release the hostage. Mingyue Ge was right; the credit of Planet Puce students is really a bit low.”
Ye Yang signaled Bai Wei. Bai Wei picked up the whistle hanging around his neck; this was likely a signal for his team members to come over.
Shen Shuyu pursed his lips slightly. “What? Just me and He Mingyue, and you’re scared?”
Bai Wei didn’t blow the whistle; he just stared at him.
Shen Shuyu took two more steps forward. “He Mingyue’s gun has already been confiscated by you. As two Alphas, could it be that you’re afraid of one Omega?”
“Who’s afraid of you?” Bai Wei frowned. “Stop right there.”
Shen Shuyu stopped obediently. Now that he was closer, he carefully looked He Mingyue up and down. “How did you run into them?”
“Bad luck, I guess,” He Mingyue said. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Shen Shuyu replied.
Listening to their back-and-forth pleasantries, Ye Yang said impatiently, “This isn’t time for you to chat.”
“Then what do you want?” Shen Shuyu asked. “You asked me to come out, I’m out, but you won’t release him. Even teammates saying hello to each other—you have to manage that too? What exactly do you want?”
Shen Shuyu’s tone turned slightly angry. “Is teasing people fun for you?”
The gun Ye Yang pressed against He Mingyue’s waist seemed to loosen slightly, and Bai Wei’s attention was entirely on Shen Shuyu.
Now!
He Mingyue twisted his body with lightning speed and grabbed Ye Yang’s wrist. Ye Yang reacted and tried to fire, but the direction of the gun was forced upward, firing a blank into the sky.
Blue smoke filled the air. Bai Wei was about to fire the next second, but Shen Shuyu was faster, pulling the gun from his waist and pressing it against Ye Yang’s neck.
He shouted sternly, “Don’t move!”
