Chapter 10: Want Daddy to Hug
It was Fu Jingchen’s class.
She really didn’t want to go.
Ruan Yi was dragged into the classroom by Lin Han with a lack of interest, not even wanting to lift her head.
“Eh, where’s the handsome Fu? Why is it an old man?” Lin Han’s voice was full of confusion.
Ruan Yi suddenly looked up. At the podium desk was a balding old professor.
Could it be that Gu Zhi really was an incubus and sucked Fu Jingchen’s essence dry overnight, turning him into a bald old man?
“Cough, cough. Notifying the students, Professor Fu will temporarily not be teaching due to personal reasons. I will be fully responsible for this course from now on.”
The bald old professor proceeded to introduce himself.
Now it was great. A classroom full of face-judgers wailed silently in their hearts; they had to switch from admiring a male god to admiring a reflective marinated egg.
The one with the biggest internal reaction was Ruan Yi, but not because she couldn’t see Fu Jingchen.
Fu Jingchen, this pretty boy. After latching onto her mom, he actually stopped being a professor.
Impressive. He wasn’t even acting anymore.
Moving into her house and not workingâwouldn’t that give him even more opportunities to make his move?
Ruan Yi almost crushed her molars from grinding them.
After class, she stepped into the house in her small high heels, clack clack clack. As soon as the man’s figure came into view, she stopped in her tracks.
Fu Jingchen sat on the soft sofa, his slender fingers casually holding a document.
He frowned slightly, focused on the document in his hand. On the coffee table in front of him, black tea was still steaming, the scent of tea dispersing in the air. On the other side of the coffee table, documents were piled into a small stack.
A hand with well-defined knuckles lifted the teacup for a light sip. When he put the teacup down, the bottom of the cup collided with the glass coffee table, making a crisp sound.
It wasn’t like there wasn’t a study for him to work in. Why move everything to the living room to show off? Who was he posing for?
What a pity, Ruan Yi wasn’t in the mood to admire it this time.
“Xiao Yi, welcome home.” Fu Jingchen put down the document gently.
Ruan Yi slammed her bag onto the coffee table with force, the vibration causing the items on the table to make a light clinking sound.
“Fu Jingchen, why aren’t you working anymore?”
Questioned by Ruan Yi like this, the man in front of her didn’t feel displeased; instead, he seemed to be in quite a good mood.
The corner of Fu Jingchen’s lips twitched ever so slightly. His finger tapped lightly on the document resting on his lap. “I am working.”
“You know I’m not asking about this!” Ruan Yi couldn’t keep her cool.
“Is that so? Then let me ask Xiao Yi a question too. I want to know, in what capacity is Xiao Yi asking me this question?”
“Student, daughter, or?”
Fu Jingchen’s tone carried an imperceptible amusement. The same sentence format had once been proposed by the girl; now, the person asking had changed.
Getting no answer, he didn’t get angry, nor did he continue speaking. He just picked up the document again and lowered his eyes to read.
Damn him. Fu Jingchen, this pretender who gives an inch and takes a mile. He hasn’t even married in yet, and he already wants a daughter.
Ruan Yi was furious. Seeing his pretentious way of reading documents made her uncomfortable.
A professor who doesn’t teachâwhat on earth was he reading documents for all day long?
Ruan Yi wanted to go up and snatch the document from his hand. Just as she lifted her foot, she hooked onto one of the man’s feet that had appeared out of nowhere, and she uncontrollably fell forward.
“Ah!” Ruan Yi reflexively braced herself on the sofa, staring big-eyed at the man beneath her small eyes. The pose was ridiculous. Ruan Yi was already digging a hole with her toes, but at least she didn’t fall on this unlucky man.
Such a weird “sofa kabedon” posture made her look like a female hooligan. Her ear tips instantly turned pink from shame.
Her slender arms trembled as they braced on the sofa. Just as she was preparing to push herself up, her thin waist was caught off guard by a powerful arm, and she fell lusciously into Fu Jingchen’s embrace.
She was completely lying on Fu Jingchen. The man’s nose tip almost brushed against her forehead. His warm breath, wrapped in the scent of cedar perfume, blew onto her eyelashes, like being swept by a feather, tingly and itchy.
Fu Jingchen took a deep breath.
Why is she as soft as a marshmallow… Want to eat.
Ruan Yi’s face flushed bright red. She hurriedly pressed against the man’s chest muscles to push herself up, but her waist was still circled and held tight by a certain wicked large hand.
“Fu Jingchen, what are you doing!”
The man in front of her had eyes that were peaceful and innocent.
“Didn’t Xiao Yi… want Daddy to hug?”
Ruan Yi: Who wanted that?
“Who is your daughter? Lunatic!”
Realizing she was still sitting on the man’s lap, Ruan Yi launched herself up immediately, her speed comparable to a spring.
It seemed her previous judgment was wrong. Fu Jingchen wasn’t just interested in her brother; he was simply a perverted demon king who devoured men, women, the old, and the young!
Fu Jingchen’s Adam’s apple moved slightly. The corner of his lips twitched faintly, as if there or not. “Apologies. Seeing Xiao Yi suddenly pounce over… did I misunderstand?”
That damn look again. “You! Fu Jingchen, I will be watching you constantly, constantly!”
Ruan Yi grabbed her bag angrily and stomped upstairs in a rage.
In the shadows of the second floor, a tall black silhouette disappeared as well.
Minutes ago, his pale knuckles had tightened suddenly on the carved rosewood railing, squeezing the handrail until it made a faint creaking sound. The man looked down, taking in the interaction between the two just now.
Under his dark bangs, his pupils were covered with angry, ferocious blood vessels. The arc of his mouth was twisted and terrifying, seeming to be restraining something with extreme effort. The blue veins bulging on his forehead revealed his extreme emotions at this moment.
Not behaving at all. How can you jump into the arms of a man other than me?
Your attention can only be placed on me. No one, nothing else, should even think about it.
Ruan Yi walked to her room door; it was half-open.
She muttered softly, “Why doesn’t the auntie close the door after cleaning the room?”
Ruan Yi reached out and pushed the door open. The bedroom lights weren’t on, and the curtains were drawn tight. Just as she stepped one foot inside, she noticed a tall figure by the bed.
She subconsciously closed her eyes and screamed, “Ghost!”
Ruan Yi didn’t feel being gnawed on by a ghost for a long while, so she secretly opened one eye a crack.
Her vision brightened; the room lights were turned on.
“Sister.” A familiar voice. Although his face was gentle, for some reason, his expression held a trace of incongruity.
“Gu Zhi, are you sick? Why did you scare me!” Ruan Yi was both shocked and angry. She had always been the type to get angry when scared because of her timidity.
Gu Zhi’s eye rims were a bit red. He stared dead at her, his voice somewhat aggrieved. “I was waiting for you. I didn’t mean to scare Sister…”
Ruan Yi paused, realizing Gu Zhi might have encountered something. Seeing him looking like he was about to drop “little pearls” (tears), and considering she had just been fierce to him, she instantly felt a bit apologetic.
“I shouldn’t have been fierce to you. No crying! Tell me what happened first.”
Ruan Yi pulled him to sit by the bed.
Gu Zhi’s eyes were still slightly red, his expression hesitant.
“Say it!” Ruan Yi was anxious and sat a bit closer to him.
“Actually, I’m not sure either.” He still didn’t say it.
Ruan Yi couldn’t hold it anymore. Angrily, she leaned in and poked his waist with her arm. “Speak, speak, speak! You know I hate this the most!”
His lean, muscular waist was poked until it felt a bit itchy. The arm hanging by his side was also constantly brushed by the girl’s fine, tender skin.
Uncontrollably, a muffled sound escaped his throat.
Good. Not angry anymore. Feels good.
