Chapter 11: Distinctions Between Men and Women
“Has Sister lost anything recently?”
Ruan Yi’s eyes widened, and she had a bad premonition in her heart. “No. Did you lose something? What was it? Speak quickly!”
Ruan Yi was so anxious she slapped his thigh.
Gu Zhi looked like he wanted to speak but stopped. He only made a sound after being slapped several times.
“Actually, it’s nothing much. At first, only small things like handkerchiefs and towels were lost, but later the things lost were a bit…” The tips of the boy’s ears gradually turned pink.

“Sister is so narcissistic.”
Ruan Yi paused, hearing his teasing. She reached out and pulled his ear. “You still have the mood to joke with me!”
Gu Zhi didn’t get angry at all while having his ear pulled. Smiling, he leaned into her soft palm, rubbing his face against the girl’s delicate wrist.
Ruan Yi’s addiction kicked in. Just as she released the evil little hand pulling his ear, she messed up his hair again. Even though his hairstyle was ruined, he didn’t make a sound, only squinting his eyes in enjoyment.
What was going on? Her brother seemed like a dog.
Ruan Yi shook her head, shaking the strange thoughts out of her brain.
Although she spoke jokingly, Ruan Yi knew better than anyone how vile the act of stealing intimate apparel was.
This matter happened to be a good opportunity to remind her mother indirectly.
She had asked her mother to do a full-body checkup a few days ago. The report should be out by now.
Ruan Yi knocked on the door and only entered the study after hearing the permission from inside.
Ruan Ying was looking down at the documents on the desk. Under her well-maintained eyes, there were faint dark circles.
She looked up, a gentle smile in the subtle wrinkles at the corners of her eyes. “Xiao Yi is here.”
How could Ruan Yi not see it? The Ruan Corporation’s situation hadn’t been optimistic recently. Internal strife was severe, and Mom had been working hard because of this.
Ruan Yi was learning to manage the group so she could take over part of the Ruan family’s industries upon graduation, so Ruan Mother wouldn’t have to work so hard.
Ruan Yi’s heart ached terribly. She walked behind her mother and massaged her shoulders and neck.
“Mom, you didn’t rest properly again. Is the physical exam report out?”
Ruan Ying smiled and pulled the filed physical exam report from the bottom of the documents.
“You child, really. I just had a checkup at the beginning of the year, and you made me go again.” It sounded like a complaint on the surface, but the tone was exceptionally doting.
Ruan Yi took a deep breath. She took her mother’s report with trembling hands, carefully checking and comparing every item of data.
“I told you, it’s just some small reactions to over-fatigue. What’s there to worry about? I just need to rest well.”
After reading the report repeatedly, Ruan Yi was stunned. There was actually nothing wrong. No abnormal body values caused by any erroneous medication.

Just as she stepped out of the study door, Ruan Yi saw the person she least wanted to see.

Ruan Yi walked past Fu Jingchen maintaining a zombie-like walking posture.

Fu Jingchen was laughing at her, right? Right.

The man’s gaze swept over her triumphant little face, finally focusing on the tender white hands circling Gu Zhi’s waist.
He turned and left.
In a place no one noticed, the man’s jaw was so tight one could almost hear the sound of bones grinding. The blue veins bulging on his neck were twisted and terrifying, throbbing with the beating of his temples.
