Chapter 26: Wish I Could Move to Another Planet
Chris’s sudden words startled Shen Zhouyue.
He wished he could immediately reach out and cover Chris’s mouth but that would make him look very guilty.
Shen Zhouyue lowered his voice and said to Chris, “They are just simply catching up, it’s not what you think!”
Watching Wen Qiusheng looking like he was about to throw himself into Yu Tingzhou’s arms, Shen Zhouyue felt a bit guilty about his own words.
But he had no standing to police Yu Tingzhou’s feelings, not to mention he hadn’t revealed his identity as a spouse in front of Wen Qiusheng earlier.
If he suddenly revealed it now, it would seem somewhat strange.
Shen Zhouyue had many concerns, but Yu Tingzhou didn’t share them.
Facing the words Wen Qiusheng said, he frowned and took a few steps back, avoiding Wen Qiusheng’s embrace and approach. He said somewhat displeasedly, “Sorry, I don’t remember those things that happened when I was little. Even if I did say I wanted you to be my bride when I was a child, that was just a joke between children and shouldn’t be taken seriously.”
Without waiting for Wen Qiusheng to answer, Yu Tingzhou looked up at Shen Zhouyue.
Noticing Chris beside Shen Zhouyue and the intimate distance between them, dissatisfaction suddenly rose in Yu Tingzhou’s heart.
With a hint of urging, he said to Shen Zhouyue, “Zhouyue, let’s go. Weren’t you hungry?”
Shen Zhouyue suddenly heard his name called and jerked his head up, looking a bit stunned.
“Eh?”
He walked quickly toward Yu Tingzhou. “Why did you call me suddenly?”
Yu Tingzhou didn’t speak. He gently brushed his hand over Shen Zhouyue’s cheek, tucking a stray lock of hair behind Shen Zhouyue’s ear.
This gesture was extremely intimate; anyone could tell their relationship was extraordinary.
Wen Qiusheng seemed to suddenly realize something.
He looked at Shen Zhouyue, his tone still gentle. “What is the relationship between you and Tingzhou?”
What relationship?
A contract marriage relationship!
But this matter couldn’t be spoken of casually.
Shen Zhouyue pursed his lips and glared at Yu Tingzhou, his brain working furiously to find a suitable term to describe the relationship between him and Yu Tingzhou.
Yu Tingzhou didn’t get angry at being glared at.
He seemed oblivious to the awkward atmosphere between Wen Qiusheng and Shen Zhouyue. Under everyone’s gaze, he suddenly reached out and wrapped his arm around Shen Zhouyue’s waist, pulling him into his embrace.
“Zhouyue is my lawful spouse. I have already married him. So, regardless of whether what you said just now is true or false, please don’t mention it again in the future.”
He affectionately pinched Shen Zhouyue’s nose. Under Shen Zhouyue’s astonished gaze, he spoke with a doting tone, “I don’t want my lover to be unhappy because of some inexplicable reasons.”
The smile on Wen Qiusheng’s face vanished completely, his expression turning somewhat gloomy.
“You are his lawful spouse?”
His gaze landed on Shen Zhouyue.
“When you heard about the past between Tingzhou and me today, did you find it laughable?”
Yu Tingzhou felt Wen Qiusheng was acting a bit off. He silently pulled Shen Zhouyue a step back.
Chris also walked over quickly and grabbed Wen Qiusheng, who wanted to continue moving forward.
“Calm down a bit. Don’t forget what kind of place this is!”
Following Chris’s words, Wen Qiusheng’s reason seemed to suddenly return to his body.
He put on that gentle smile again, looking at Shen Zhouyue with a helpless expression. “If you had said earlier that you and Tingzhou were family, I wouldn’t have said those things in front of you.”
“Although I’m the only one who remembers those promises, seeing Tingzhou find his own happiness makes me happy for him.”
Yu Tingzhou felt Wen Qiusheng was getting weirder and weirder.
He didn’t have much contact with Wen Qiusheng.
The relationship between their parents was decent; even the art exhibition tickets were obtained by his mother from Wen Qiusheng’s mother.
“Whether I have found my own happiness or not should have nothing to do with Mr. Wen, a stranger. If there’s nothing else, we’ll be leaving first.”
Yu Tingzhou didn’t even wait for Wen Qiusheng to speak before pulling Shen Zhouyue into a nearby private room.
As soon as they entered the room, Yu Tingzhou said to Shen Zhouyue, “Stay away from that man named Wen Qiusheng in the future.”
His tone carried a commanding note, making Shen Zhouyue uncomfortable.
“I am not your subordinate; there is no need for me to do things according to your wishes.”
He hadn’t figured out the situation with the signatures on the paintings yet and didn’t plan to cut off contact with Wen Qiusheng completely.
Seeing Yu Tingzhou looking displeased and about to say something more, Shen Zhouyue picked up the menu on the side and handed it to him. “Didn’t you say we were eating?”
Yu Tingzhou swallowed the words on the tip of his tongue and began to look through the menu.
While eating, Shen Zhouyue’s phone suddenly rang.
He looked down; it was a message from Chris.
Curious, he clicked it open.
[Remember to stay away from Wen Qiusheng. His personality is a bit paranoid, not as gentle as he looks on the outside!]
Shen Zhouyue felt that Chris and Wen Qiusheng seemed very familiar, so perhaps Chris knew about the situation around Wen Qiusheng.
He might be able to find out about the signature on the paintings from Chris.
[Do you know when Wen Qiusheng’s paintings were painted?]
Shen Zhouyue and Chris texted back and forth. He didn’t notice that Yu Tingzhou, while flipping through the menu beside him, had glanced at him several times.
Suddenly, the phone in his hand was snatched away by a large hand.
The phone screen was still lit, and the background image was a photo of An’an.
If Yu Tingzhou took a good look at the phone background, the secret Shen Zhouyue had been trying so hard to hide would be exposed.
He panicked instantly and stood up hurriedly, trying to grab the phone back from Yu Tingzhou.
Yu Tingzhou used his height advantage to hold the phone high. “Who are you chatting with so happily?”
As he spoke, he tried to look at the phone screen.
Shen Zhouyue hurriedly grabbed Yu Tingzhou’s hand, trying to pull down his raised arm to snatch the phone back.
Realizing that his strength was no match for Yu Tingzhou’s slender yet muscular build, his eyes darted around, and an idea formed in his mind.
Instead of using brute force to pull Yu Tingzhou’s hand away, he moved his hand to a certain ambiguous location and gently squeezed.
Yu Tingzhou sucked in a cold breath instantly. He wrapped one arm around Shen Zhouyue’s waist and pulled him onto his lap.
His attention was diverted, and Shen Zhouyue successfully snatched the phone back from his hand and immediately attempted to stand up.
But Yu Tingzhou had been riled up by Shen Zhouyue’s action just now.
The fire contained a mix of anger and desire.
If not for the location, he certainly wouldn’t let Shen Zhouyue off so easily.
“You actually dare to do that!”
Yu Tingzhou squeezed out this sentence through gritted teeth.
Shen Zhouyue had come to his senses by now, realizing his action was too outrageous. His face turned as red as a tomato, but he still muttered stubbornly, “Who told you to take my phone without asking? That’s your punishment!”
Yu Tingzhou laughed out of anger.
“Punishment?”
“I called you so many times just now and you didn’t respond, so I grabbed your phone.”
Shen Zhouyue knew he was in the wrong but didn’t want to admit it, lowering his head in silence.
Yu Tingzhou felt he should give him a little punishment.
The arm around Shen Zhouyue tightened, muscles bulging slightly.
Shen Zhouyue suddenly felt a force on his waist. Uncontrollably, he was flipped over to lie prone across Yu Tingzhou’s lap, face toward the floor. This posture gave him a sudden premonition of something bad.
He reflexively started to struggle, but the arm on his waist was too secure; his struggling was pointless.
And while he struggled—Smack, smack, smack—pain came from his buttocks.
Shen Zhouyue, an adult for many years and a father, was suddenly being held over someone’s lap and spanked. The shame made him wish he could move to another planet to live.
This time he struggled even harder, wishing he could get up immediately and hide from Yu Tingzhou, or find a crack in the ground to crawl into.
But Yu Tingzhou wouldn’t let go, so his struggles were futile.
He could only look at Yu Tingzhou with wet eyes, his face completely red, questioning without much confidence, “You… you… what are you doing…”
“Teaching you a lesson, so you know what can be done and what cannot!”
Yu Tingzhou looked calm, but in reality, the area behind his ears was completely red.
In a trance, his palm could still feel that soft yet firm texture.
Fortunately, the waiter’s knock broke the awkward and ambiguous atmosphere in the private room.
Shen Zhouyue suddenly realized he was still lying across Yu Tingzhou’s lap. He scrambled up in a panic. His fair face was now entirely flushed, looking very alluring.
Hearing no response, the waiter knocked patiently again. “Gentlemen, is it convenient for me to come in now?”
“Cough… come in!”
The moment the waiter entered, Shen Zhouyue kept his head down and walked straight out. “I’m going to the restroom!”
He just wanted to wash his face with cold water to cool down his overloaded brain.
After washing his face, the burning heat finally subsided a little, but his face still showed a faint pink, and his eyes were moist, looking somewhat improper.
“If I had known, I wouldn’t have come out to eat with him today!”
To think so many awkward things would happen!
He reached up and messed up his hair, not wanting to return to the private room at all.
His smooth hair was rubbed into a bird’s nest, giving Shen Zhouyue a touch of cuteness.
Suddenly, Shen Zhouyue saw another figure appear in the mirror—Wen Qiusheng.
He wore a cold face, slowly approaching Shen Zhouyue.
Shen Zhouyue’s mind suddenly recalled the message Chris had just sent.
He moved a few steps to the side imperceptibly. The movement was small, but it was still noticed by Wen Qiusheng.
