Part 2
He watched quietly for a while, wanting to tell him to go back and rest, but his fingertips stopped the moment they touched his shoulder. In the end, he just gently ruffled his hair. Later, this seemed to become a tacit understanding between them, representing the seniorâs tolerance and approval. Jiang Yunian had never refused it.
Looking at the person hazy with drunkenness before him, Lu Yuanbai leaned in closer. He smelled the faint scent of alcohol on him and reached out to ruffle his hair as usual.
“Yunian.”
Jiang Yunian let out a confused “Mmn” and tilted his head unconsciously.
This unconscious approach ignited the thinly veiled reason in Lu Yuanbai’s heart, giving birth to a bit of hope. Perhaps, the person he likes is me?
Those lips, close at hand, glistened with tempting moisture. Lu Yuanbai had always been a gentleman, but at this moment, he seemed drunk too. He couldn’t help but tear off his mask, slowly covering toward that softness.
“Ah Yan…”
Jiang Yunian closed his eyes and let out a murmur mixed with a nasal tone, like cold water suddenly poured over Lu Yuanbaiâs boiling heart.
His leaning posture froze instantly. Only millimeters from those lips, yet he couldn’t go down any further.
The night wind scattered the last trace of fantasy in his heart. He stared blankly at the person who was completely unaware, his heart throbbing with waves of pain, overflowing with a dense, sour bitterness.
“What are you doing?”
A cold voice rang out from behind, full of hostility.
Lu Yuanbai stiffened and turned his head.
Jiang Yanâs tall figure merged with the night, only his eyes were shockingly bright, staring tightly at the hand Lu Yuanbai had placed on his Geâs shoulder.
“My Ge doesn’t like others touching him.”
He strode forward, snatched the person from Lu Yuanbaiâs hands, and picked him up in a princess carry. Jiang Yunian was disturbed by this sudden movement and grunted uncomfortably. instinctively burrowing into Jiang Yanâs embrace to find a more comfortable position.
Holding him, Jiang Yan ignored the frozen third wheel beside them and walked straight toward their tent.
Placing the person carefully on the prepared sleeping bag, Jiang Yan took out wet wipes and meticulously wiped the place where the man had just touched him. It was a seriousness bordering on paranoia, as if removing some filth. He leaned down, his voice low and deep, branding a dangerous warning into the other party’s half-drunk, half-awake consciousness word by word:
“If you get this close to a wild man again, Iâll lock you up.”
His gaze swept over the collarbone and faint red bite marks exposed by Jiang Yunianâs loosened scarf. His eyes darkened, and he lowered his head to kiss those slightly parted lips.
“Mmph…” Jiang Yunian was blocked by this kiss filled with punishment and intense possessiveness, unable to breathe. His eyelids were half-lifted, seemingly in a dream yet awake. He pressed his hands against Jiang Yanâs chest, struggling, but his hands were pinned above his head by the other party with one hand. The tongue savagely pried open his teeth, continuing to conquer territory.
Jiang Yunian endured it passively, only allowed to rest when he was about to suffocate. Panting, he waved his hands indiscriminately. “Nn… no more drinking, no more… I’m going to die.”
Seeing his pitiful appearance, bullied so ruthlessly, the hostility in Jiang Yanâs eyes faded slightly. He lowered his head and bit his red and swollen lips lightly as a punishment. “Drinking what?”
Jiang Yunian narrowed his eyes, his mouth wet and numb. “Saliva…”
Jiang Yan laughed. “Then drink again tomorrow.”
Jiang Yunian couldn’t hear clearly what he was saying. He only felt a familiar aura wrapping around him, so he obediently closed his eyes: “Okay…”
On the way back, the morning light was faint. Everyone packed up their things and boarded the bus one after another.
Lu Yuanbai stood by the bus, watching Jiang Yunian walk over. His face carried the weariness of a hangover, and his lips were unusually red and swollen, even slightly broken skin, looking extremely piercing to the eye. Lu Yuanbaiâs breathing quickened shortly; he wasn’t very calm. Habitually, he reached out his hand, wanting to ruffle his hair like in the past.
Jiang Yunian saw his action and also noticed Jiang Yanâs surveillance a few steps away. His body stiffened almost imperceptibly, and he tilted his head to dodge.
The subtle avoidance movement caused Lu Yuanbaiâs hand to freeze in mid-air, then drop in disappointment.
“You wouldn’t have dodged before.”
Lu Yuanbai paused, his gaze shifting to the malicious wolf staring covetously behind him. He lowered his voice, just enough for Jiang Yunian to hear clearly, “You like him, so I came too late, is that right?”
He had originally thought Jiang Yunian couldn’t accept same-sex relationships, so he retreated to the background without thinking much of it. Only now did he realize with a start that his foolishness had caused him to miss too much.
Jiang Yunian didn’t know before, but now he understood what kind of thoughts the Xuezhang held for him. Naturally, he couldn’t do anything that might cause a misunderstanding. This affection was too heavy; he couldn’t respond to it, nor could he bear to hurt the senior who had always taken care of him. He pursed his lips; the words of rejection rolled over his tongue again and again, but he couldn’t say them.
Lu Yuanbai looked at the dilemma on his face and those lips sucked red and swollen. The faint hope in his heart extinguished, leaving only bitterness. But he had always been dignified; at this moment, he suppressed all the sourness back into the bottom of his heart. He took a deep breath, trying hard to maintain his usual gentleness on his face, only the smile was pale and forced.
“As long as you like him.”
He didn’t look at him again, turning around to board the bus first, his back appearing somewhat thin.
Hao Meng, who had been hiding aside, leaned over. Looking at Jiang Yunianâs mouth, then at the direction Lu Yuanbai left, her eyes were complicated. “That mouth of yours… confess honestly, are you and Jiang Yan…”
Jiang Yunian knew he couldn’t hide it, so he simply admitted it.
Hao Meng wore an “as expected” expression, speaking with a bit of emotion: “I saw long ago that your brother wasn’t right. Even able to bend a straight guy, he’s really got skills!”
Speak of the devil, and the devil arrives. Jiang Yan approached silently, wrapped his arm around his Geâs shoulder, and asked in a low voice why he hadn’t got on yet. Hao Meng hadn’t fully digested how two perfectly fine brothers ended up together, so she asked the thing she wanted to know most: “Hey, you two aren’t biological brothers, right?”
The blush on Jiang Yunianâs face faded a bit. He opened his mouth awkwardly, not knowing how to answer for a moment.
Hearing this, Jiang Yan pulled the corner of his mouth indifferently, carrying a bit of rogue attitude: “It’s not like he can get pregnant.”
Jiang Yunian was even more embarrassed. He elbowed him to shut up and hastily explained to Hao Meng, “Mn, we aren’t related by blood.”
No wonder a younger brother suddenly popped up; I felt something was fishy long ago.
Hao Meng curled her lip.
The two didn’t say more and got on the bus. Jiang Yan took his Geâs backpack naturally and slung it over his own shoulder. As usual, he settled the person in the window seat, blocked the aisle himself, leaned against his shoulder, rubbed against him, and closed his eyes to rest.
Hao Meng, falling behind, rolled her eyes at the clingy pair. “Clingy like this, tsk… Wait until you have an 8 AM class; let’s see if you can still be this sticky!”
Jiang Yunian napped for a while, then flipped through the photos of maple leaves he took today. He hadn’t posted a status in a long time. Seeing the Moment posted by He Qing, he also posted a few photos. Just as he sent it, Jiang Yan liked it instantly.
Jiang Yunian turned his head. “You weren’t sleeping?”
Jiang Yan: “Just to be the first to like Geâs post. Was I fast?”
“Fast.” He agreed verbally, but thought in his heart: If only that matter could end this fast too, I wouldn’t have to suffer so much.
“Then is there a reward?”
“You want a reward for a like?”
“Of course.”
“Then what do you want?”
He leaned close to Jiang Yunianâs ear and whispered something in a low voice.
Jiang Yunianâs face flushed red instantly. “No, there are so many people.”
Jiang Yan conveniently threw a jacket over both of their heads, forming a small, private space. He nestled into Jiang Yunianâs chest, one hand holding the back of his neck and pressing down, his breath scorching hot: “It’s covered; no one can see.”
Jiang Yunian quickly scanned the cabin left and right; sure enough, everyone was drowsy. His heart beat like a drum. He hesitated for a split second, then quickly lowered his head and kissed him on the lips.
In the old neighborhood, Auntie Wang of the tailor shop welcomed a customer she hadn’t seen before.
The person looked around, then took a piece of fabric from his pocket and asked if she sold it.
Auntie Wang recognized immediately that the fabric was a rare item. Touching the material, the texture was soft and exquisite; she had only seen it once in her life.
“Oh my, such a fine thing, my small shop doesn’t have it.” Auntie Wang shook her head. “But… there’s someone who might know.”
…
In the evening, when Jiang Yan and Jiang Yunian came home, they were stopped by Auntie Wang who mentioned this matter. After listening, Jiang Yanâs brows furrowed imperceptibly.
Jiang Yunian noticed his expression wasn’t right. “What’s wrong?”
Jiang Yanâs expression returned to normal. He put his arm around his shoulder. “Nothing, let’s go.”
That night, after Jiang Yunian showered, he looked at the bedside table. The bottle of lubricant was already more than half empty, and there were only two condoms left in the box. He sighed. These things weren’t cheap. Jiang Yan always said he was too tight and used a large amount. At this rate, they couldn’t afford to “love” anymore.
It had been a few days since they did it; Jiang Yan would definitely pester him for it tonight. Although doing it too much wasn’t good, holding it in too long wasn’t good either. While feeling heartache over the money, Jiang Yunian picked up the lubricant and went into the bathroom.
The TV was broadcasting breaking news: “Qi Group Chairman Qi Nanshan’s condition has deteriorated, and he has been transferred overseas for treatment. His son, Qi Liangji, has appeared at the hospital multiple times and personally escorted him to board the plane. It is worth noting that as the public heir of the Qi family, Elder Qiâs only grandson has still not made a public appearance, triggering much speculation from the outside world regarding the internal relations of the family…”
Jiang Yunian came out of the bathroom and saw Jiang Yan still looking at his phone. He urged him to wash up quickly, while he lay in bed early to wait.
Jiang Yan came out after showering, bringing a body full of moisture. He lay down directly, extended his long arm to scoop Jiang Yunian into his arms, kissed him once on the forehead and once on the cheek, and then… there was no follow-up.
“Goodnight.” Jiang Yanâs voice carried weariness as his arms tightened.
Jiang Yunian: “…”
Why is he so well-behaved today?
That’s not normal.
He quietly rubbed against his chest, hinting at something. The person beside him had no reaction, as if he was truly incredibly sleepy.
Jiang Yunian was a bit confused. Is going out for a trip that tiring? Could it be… that doing it too much really makes stamina worse? He didn’t wake Jiang Yan, but his heart felt inexplicably empty.
The prep inside was done for nothing…
What a waste.
After Jiang Yunian fell into a deep sleep harboring some regret, Jiang Yan quietly opened his eyes. Moving extremely lightly, he got up, took his phone, and went out the door.
The night was deep. As usual, Jiang Yan wore a mask, familiarly avoiding the surveillance cameras, and entered Tianshan Renjian through a very inconspicuous hidden door. At the end of the corridor was the private room he usually used.
Pushing open the door, the lights inside were dimmed low. Jiang Yanâs footsteps paused, and his pupils suddenly contracted.
Sitting on the sofa was not Zhou Shu whom he had arranged to meet, nor any subordinate, but…
“Why is it you?”
The person slowly turned around. The light illuminated a “kind and benevolent” face. It was impressively Chairman Qi, whom the news said was “critically ill and transferred overseas.”
Qi Nanshan.
Note: Ah, the classic “I’m not hungry tonight” fake-out from the Gong. Yunian prepared everything for nothing! Also, looks like the “dead” grandfather is very much alive and plotting. The drama is ramping up!
