HIS PHEROMONE SMELLS LIKE CATNIP Chapter extra 2.1

Extra 2 part 1

The wool carpet insulated against the cold from the floor, so Bai He didn’t feel the chill even standing barefoot. Being swept up into Qin Yao’s arms, surrounded by a familiar source of heat, he slowly closed his eyes.

With the soothing presence of the Brandy pheromones, drowsiness came quickly.

Qin Yao placed Bai He gently onto the bed without saying much. His fingers lightly caressed the back of Bai He’s hand, soothing him until he drifted off to sleep, before slowly withdrawing to go to the bathroom.

After showering, Qin Yao didn’t go to sleep immediately. He didn’t turn on the lights in the room. instead, he sat by the bedside for a long time, quietly watching the sleeping Bai He under the moonlight filtering through the window.

He had received the news from his Little Dad. Qin Yao had changed his ticket and flown back immediately. He was overwhelmed with excitement, but as the adrenaline faded and calm returned, his mind was flooded with thoughts.

He thought about everything, but mostly, he just felt a deep, aching tenderness.

Qin Yao knew about Bai He’s world; he knew clearly about Bai He’s anxieties regarding childbirth. Now that it was really happening, Qin Yao felt a sense of unease.

He didn’t get into bed until the latter half of the night. It wasn’t until Bai He tossed and turned in his sleep, pulling Qin Yao back from his thoughts, that he finally climbed into bed, pulled the man into his arms, and released his pheromones to soothe him.

It was a night of light sleep.

The next day, Bai He woke up first. His biological clock woke him perfectly at seven. As usual, he sat up and spaced out for a while. Once he was a bit more awake, he tried to lift the duvet to get out of bed, only to have an arm clamp down around his waist.

Bai He then remembered that Qin Yao had returned last night. He looked down—Qin Yao hadn’t woken up yet. Even in sleep, his brows were slightly furrowed, and his arm was wrapped tightly around Bai He’s waist.

Bai He tried to remove Qin Yao’s hand but failed. He had no choice but to nestle back down and lie there for a while longer. Seeing time slip away and realizing he would be late for work if he delayed any further, he gently patted Qin Yao’s face. “Qin Yao, I’m going to work. You keep sleeping.”

Qin Yao buried his face into the side of Bai He’s waist, grunting in dissatisfaction. “Sleep a bit longer, Xiao Bao…”

Bai He: “…”

No, he was going to be late. Bai He had to harden his heart and push Qin Yao’s arm away. He quickly got out of bed and tucked the duvet around the other man. Just as he turned around, his wrist was grabbed by Qin Yao. He looked back to see a shirtless Qin Yao sitting up, rubbing his eyes. As he yawned, his control slipped, and a pair of cat ears popped out, twitching with the movement of his yawn.

“…I’m awake. I’ll go with Xiao Bao.” Qin Yao squinted, rolling out of bed in a daze. He took two steps and stuck to Bai He’s back, his sleepy eyes never fully opening. He hugged Bai He as they walked toward the bathroom, his large hand gently, perhaps unconsciously, stroking Bai He’s abdomen.

They entered the bathroom together and stood side-by-side in front of the mirror to brush their teeth. Bai He looked at the groggy Qin Yao through the mirror. The alpha’s hair was a mess from sleep—aside from the cat ears, there were several tufts of hair sticking up. A scruffy big cat. The term popped into Bai He’s mind, and he couldn’t help but laugh out loud. His laugh woke the drowsy Qin Yao up considerably.

Qin Yao lifted one eyelid to look at Bai He in the mirror. Seeing the smile on Bai He’s face, then looking at his own disheveled appearance and the disobedient tail that was wrapped firmly around Bai He’s waist, he instantly understood why his Xiao Bao was laughing.

Qin Yao blinked blankly. Biting his toothbrush, he raised his eyebrows and tilted his head to nuzzle Bai He’s cheek, speaking indistinctly through a mouthful of foam, “Morning, Xiao Bao~”

Bai He gave Qin Yao a push, though he didn’t use much force. “It’s not early anymore. We’re going to be late.”

“No rush, the boss is right here.” Qin Yao stood up straight lazily, looking at Bai He in the mirror. His Xiao Bao was just a little beauty, while he looked like a hooligan. But even as a hooligan, he was handsome. He stroked his chin narcissistically, his heart itching. He stole a glance at Bai He, who had finished rinsing and was preparing to wash his face.

He couldn’t suppress his affection. He reached out, took Bai He’s chin, tilted it up, and lowered his head for a kiss.

It was a deep, lingering kiss. When they finally parted, Qin Yao hugged Bai He’s waist and smiled. “It’s mint flavored.”

“We’re going to be late!” Bai He laughed helplessly. “Boss Qin can’t take the lead in being tardy!”

“Okay, okay.” Qin Yao raised both hands in surrender, grinning foolishly for a long time. After washing his face and changing clothes, he returned to his dashing human self. Bai He, changing clothes beside him, felt his face heat up and his heart race at the sight.

After dressing and clocking in at the company, they really did just barely make it.

At eight o’clock sharp, Bai He turned on his computer. Once his prep work was done, he went upstairs. Qin Yao had already prepared breakfast.

“I asked Auntie to bring breakfast from the Lotus Pond Shop today. There’s chicken porridge, it’s light. Xiao Bao, come taste it.” Qin Yao took the delivered breakfast out of the insulated bag and arranged it item by item on the small coffee table. “I didn’t order much. Later in the morning, I’ll ask Auntie to buy some fresh fish soup. If your stomach feels upset, just eat small meals frequently. Eat this first, I’ll peel an orange for you.”

Bai He walked over and sat on the sofa. “You did your homework? When?”

“I asked Brother Li and Little Dad,” Qin Yao said, sitting close to Bai He. He diligently peeled the orange, separated the segments, and fed them to Bai He with a toothpick. “I need to take good care of you, and the little guy in your belly.”

As he spoke, he leaned in to kiss the center of Bai He’s brow, his movements incredibly gentle. He then lowered his eyes to gaze into Bai He’s. “Xiao Bao, they say morning sickness starts in the second month, and fatigue increases. Let’s discuss something—how about you pause your work for a bit?”

Bai He thought for a moment and asked, “When does Zhang Yao’s project start?”

“He’s back from his studies. There are no issues on the technical side, but it’s still in preparation. It might not start until next month,” Qin Yao said, anticipating what Bai He was thinking. “Xiao Bao, you want to be part of this project?”

Bai He looked at him. “What if I do?”

“Then participate,” Qin Yao touched Bai He’s face. “Two months, three months… I’ll take care of you.”

“Aren’t you worried?” Bai He asked.

“Of course I’m worried. I’m afraid you’ll get tired,” Qin Yao admitted honestly. He smiled again, reaching out to touch Bai He’s abdomen. “But I can’t let you give up the work you’re looking forward to just because of this little guy. I can take care of you. But when it gets to the sixth or seventh month, Xiao Bao, you have to listen to me, okay?”

Bai He pondered for a moment, then nodded. “Okay.”

The chicken porridge was fresh and delicious. He had an extra meal at noon, eating small portions each time, and didn’t experience any nausea. Bai He could confirm that he was probably repulsed by sweets—which unfortunately happened to be his favorite.

Qin Yao knew Bai He craved sweets but would vomit if he ate them, so these days he tried various ways to cook for Bai He, helping to divert his attention.

Intercourse wasn’t allowed in early pregnancy, at least not for the first three months. During these three months, Bai He could sense Qin Yao’s endurance. Occasionally, Qin Yao would go into the bathroom for an hour, and when he came out, he would pretend nothing had happened and hug Bai He to sleep. Around the fourth month, the doctor said moderate activity was okay and even beneficial. Qin Yao still refused—firmly refused. He was terrified of hurting Bai He.

Several times, Bai He personally teased the big cat with determined eyes. Once he made a move, there was no way Qin Yao could hold back. Gradually, Qin Yao learned how to complete the ‘exercise’ while protecting the baby.
