Chapter 24
“Hate…”
He hated Jiang Mo. He detested him. He didn’t just not want Jiang Mo to apologize; he even wanted him… to die. That’s right. The gentle and soft An Le on the outside harbored a vicious desire for Jiang Mo’s death.
He intensely hated Jiang Mo, who, after their falling out, would block him in the storage room every weekend. His family, the maids, and everyone who watched over him didn’t want to offend Jiang Mo.
No one would stand up for him, so he could only stay in the storage room for the entire weekend. For two whole days, he didn’t eat or drink.
Later, he brought his own food and managed to eat and drink in that small space. Even going to the bathroom was done in a small bucket in the room, filling the dimly lit storage room with a foul odor. But no one cared about him, no one paid attention to him.
As long as he was still in the An family, no one cared where he was, whether he was doing well, or if he was eating. He never wanted to experience those bitter and desperate days again in his life.
“I don’t want to forgive him, and I don’t want to… see him…” An Le bit his lip. He ultimately didn’t say the words about wanting Jiang Mo dead; he didn’t dare.
Lu Heng looked at the tears in his eyes. “Since that’s the case, then an apology is even more unnecessary.”
An Le nodded obediently. “I… know.” He understood. Lu Heng was doing this for him.
An Le followed Lu Heng into the car, and Li Jie drove him to the building. An Le reluctantly looked at Lu Heng, then, carrying the clothes he bought for Xiao Xiao, reached for the car door. His hand was grabbed just as he opened the door.
The sudden action startled An Le. He turned back, puzzled. “Mr. Lu?”
Lu Heng: “How have you been thinking about it these past few days?”
An Le didn’t immediately understand what he was asking. He subconsciously asked, “What?”
Lu Heng didn’t let him get out of the car but pulled him back to his seat. “We’ve already told everyone about our marriage. Soon, everyone will know. You won’t embarrass me, will you?”
An Le remembered that Lu Heng had told Jiang Mo about their marriage in the elevator. He was stunned, then nodded, whispering, “No, I won’t embarrass Mr. Lu.” Even if Lu Heng hadn’t said it beforehand, he had already agreed to marry him.
“That’s good.” A smile appeared on Lu Heng’s face. “Since you’ve agreed, I can start picking a date and making preparations.”
An Le didn’t understand these matters and could only nod. “Okay, I’ll… I’ll listen to Mr. Lu.”
Lu Heng nodded. Since An Le had agreed, he wouldn’t hold the mall incident against him. He lifted his chin slightly. “Hmm, go back. I won’t take you upstairs today.” He wouldn’t hold it against him, but he still needed a small punishment. He had used the money he had painstakingly saved to buy things for another man. Hmph…
At this thought, Lu Heng’s smile immediately turned cold.
An Le didn’t notice Lu Heng’s displeasure. He was focused on marrying Lu Heng. Marriage meant they would live together from now on.
Should he tell Lu Heng about his defects? He didn’t want to lie, but Lu Heng’s actions showed that he didn’t just need him to help with his heat cycle. Perhaps, he might even… like him a little. Otherwise, why would Lu Heng be so kind to him? So, he didn’t want to lie, yet he was afraid that Lu Heng wouldn’t like him after knowing about his defects.
An Le was conflicted, lost in thought as he walked upstairs after getting out of the car.
As soon as An Le left, Li Jie turned his head and called, “Boss, did you forget to give the clothes you bought for the Boss’s wife to him?”
Lu Heng remembered and quickly got out of the car, went to the trunk, got the clothes, and prepared to take them up to An Le.
…
An Le was walking and calling Xiao Xiao. Marriage was a big deal; he couldn’t hide it from Xiao Xiao. Xiao Xiao was staying at the company today and was lying in bed. A colleague was already asleep, so she spoke softly.
“Le Le, what’s wrong?”
An Le walked slowly because the hallway lights were dim, and he was afraid of falling. As he walked, he said, “Xiao Xiao, I, I’m getting married.”
“Getting married?” Xiao Xiao instantly sat up from bed, then realizing she might have woken up her colleagues, she quickly whispered, “You agreed to him?”
Her voice was too soft, and An Le didn’t hear clearly. He asked again, “Xiao Xiao, what did you say? I couldn’t hear you.”
Xiao Xiao had no choice but to get out of bed and go to the bathroom, loudly asking, “I just asked if you agreed to marry Lu Heng on your own accord, or… something else?” Why was he suddenly getting married? A few days ago, he said he wanted to observe.
“I agreed on my own. Xiao Xiao, I, I like this feeling.” An Le shyly smiled and whispered, “I like… the feeling of him being good to me.”
“Okay then.” Xiao Xiao nodded. “Then get married. It’s good for both of you, but still be wary. What if he’s not good to you later?”
An Le: “Hmm, I know.”
An Le nodded in agreement, hung the shopping bag on his wrist, took out his keys on the fourth floor, and said as he walked, “But Xiao Xiao, I, I’m… feeling very sad right now.”
Xiao Xiao: “What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”
An Le shook his head, entering the darkness. He completely didn’t notice someone following him. His voice slightly trembled. “No, I’m not physically unwell. It’s just… my eyes, and… my ears aren’t good. Should I tell him?”
Before Xiao Xiao could answer, An Le said again, “Wh-what if… what if he finds out and dislikes me?”
“He won’t!” Xiao Xiao comforted him. “Your eyes and ears aren’t incurable. Why would he dislike you? Besides, you have pheromone compatibility; what are you afraid of?”
It wasn’t that. He didn’t just want to get married; he wanted Lu Heng to be good to him.
An Le sniffled, pursing his lips. “But Xiao Xiao, I, I don’t want to get married. I, I want… I want him to be good to me…”
An Le said this as he entered his apartment, leaving the alpha who was following him outside.
Lu Heng, carrying the bags, was puzzled. “Eyes, ears?” He carefully recalled the strange things that had happened during his time with An Le. Indeed, sometimes he spoke softly, needing to raise his voice for An Le to react.
Sometimes, An Le would get very close to things when looking at them, staring for a long time. Initially, he thought An Le was just daydreaming or didn’t recognize some things since he hadn’t been to school much or gone out often. But now, it seemed that wasn’t the case.
Lu Heng deliberately stood in the darkness to An Le’s left and knocked on the door.
An Le had just finished the call when he heard a knock. He subconsciously thought it was Lu Heng but, arriving at the door, was afraid it wasn’t him and nervously hesitated whether to open it. Until he heard, “Le Le,” from outside the door.
It was Lu Heng.
An Le smiled and quickly opened the door, but it was pitch black outside, and there was no sign of Lu Heng. An Le’s eyes widened, looking towards the staircase, puzzled. “Mr. Lu?”
