Part 2
Qin Yao, eyes red, nodded pitifully.
Having soothed this one, Bai He went to the other room. As soon as he entered the nursery, Qin Yu’s crying noticeably quieted down. Bai He wondered if it was his imagination, but didn’t dwell on it, picking the child up to soothe him for a while.
Qin Yu stopped crying, but he didn’t calm down either. He waved his chubby little hands in the air and then began to paw at Bai He’s clothes. His movements were slow, but Bai He successfully received the signal.
He was hungry.
Bai He gently comforted the child and sat on the soft sofa nearby. Holding the baby with one hand to pat him, he slowly unbuttoned his pajamas with the other.
The little cub quickly found his spot. He hadn’t grown teeth yet, so Bai He didn’t feel pain, but the sensation of suckling still made him feel unaccustomed.
After all, having gone through childbirth, he had to slowly accept things like lactation. If it were the past, how could Bai He have ever imagined that one day he would personally breastfeed a child?
Watching the little thing eat was actually quite stress-relieving. The baby was tender, chubby everywhere, his mouth full and fleshy. He was very serious about finding the right position while suckling, and if he lost his grip, he would slowly search for it again. He looked very well-behaved.
Bai He gazed into space. He didn’t know how much time had passed when a noise came from outside the nursery. He stiffened slightly, looked up, and met the eyes of Qin Yao standing at the door.
The emotions in the big cat’s eyes were so sorrowful.
Qin Yao stared at the little cub lying on Bai He, sulking. He stared for a long time, then walked over and squatted in front of Bai He, looking up at Little Qin Yu for a while before turning his head to look at Bai He.
“No!” Bai He rejected the desire revealed in Qin Yao’s eyes without a second thought.
What could be harder than adapting to a child nursing from him? That would be this big cat wanting to fight for a taste too! Bai He had rejected the little thoughts in Qin Yao’s heart more than once.
He could agree to anything else, but this matter was truly too shameful!
Usually, Bai He couldn’t withstand Qin Yao acting spoiled, but this time he held his ground firmly. The Qin Yao squatting in front of him looked like he was about to shatter. Finally, the child in his arms was full. Bai He carried the drowsy little cub to the crib. After putting him down, he turned to see Qin Yao still squatting in the same spot, motionless. hardening his heart, he reached out, pulled Qin Yao up, and strode back to the bedroom.
Once the door was closed, he turned to look at the dejected Qin Yao, sighed, and slowly unbuttoned his shirt. The pajamas slid off his shoulders, and he reached out to wrap his arms around Qin Yao’s neck. “Just this once. No chance in the future.”
The big cat’s eyes instantly shot up. In the night, the eyes of a feline beastman seemed to glow. Bai He saw Qin Yao’s ears pop out again, and immediately after, his feet left the ground as he was swept up horizontally by the other. In moments, he was delivered into the soft bedding.
It wasn’t the spot the baby had bitten, but the other side. Qin Yao was even gentler than the baby. Bai He inexplicably felt like the two cats in his house were fighting for favor, and Qin Yao was obviously very jealous.
He patted the big cat lying on him and comforted, “Why are you even jealous of Qin Yu?”
Feeling a sweet, cloying wetness, Qin Yao finally lifted his head, licked his lips, leaned in to kiss Bai He, and separated to say aggrievedly, “Xiao Bao, you are mine to begin with! That brat can’t snatch you from me!”
As he spoke, he kissed Bai He again, murmuring against his lips, “You said it just now, we continue.”
Bai He gave a hum of agreement, leaning against Qin Yao’s neck. “Continue.”
This time, the well-fed little cub didn’t cause any more trouble, and Qin Yao got his wish, monopolizing Bai He for the entire night.
The next day, Bai He woke up late. After getting up and washing, he walked out of the room to see the baby sucking on a pacifier. Seeing Bai He, the baby immediately raised his hands, asking for a hug. Bai He walked over, picked up the cub, and went to the kitchen where Qin Yao was cooking.
“Xiao Bao is awake?” Qin Yao wiped his hands clean and walked over with a baby bottle. He lowered his eyes to look at Qin Yu nestled in Bai He’s arms and reached out to pull the pacifier out. “You brat, you’ve been eating your Little Dad’s milk for months. It’s time for you to drink formula!”
Without the pacifier, the little guy smacked his glistening lips, opening and closing his mouth. It was clearly time for feeding again.
Bai He looked at the bottle in Qin Yao’s hand. “Did you go out early just to buy this? Can he drink formula now?”
“Beastmen grow fast. I asked Dr. Li and Little Dad; they both said he can eat it. Little Dad recommended this brand. He told me to feed this little thing a bit to try.” As Qin Yao spoke, he brought the bottle nipple to Qin Yu’s opening and closing mouth. The little guy took two puffs, then turned his head away, humming in dissatisfaction for a long time. Qin Yao could only watch helplessly as Bai He picked up the cub to breastfeed again.
Aborted halfway. It seemed that weaning wouldn’t be that simple.
In the afternoon, both Bai He and Qin Yao had to go to the company. FREE had grown bigger and stronger, and with no worries on the technical side, the two would go to the office whenever they had time.
Occasionally, when they were busy, they would leave Qin Yu with Nan Ge. When Nan Ge was busy, Old Master Qin would also help watch the child. If everyone was truly unavailable, Qin Diandian could also fill in. Don’t let the fact that Qin Diandian was a fierce fighter outside fool you; at home, she was even better at teasing the baby than Qin Yao.
That afternoon, Bai He and Qin Yao weren’t too busy, so they took the baby out for a stroll. They arrived at the company and pushed the stroller into the office. From the moment they entered FREE, Little Qin Yu became the center of attention. Employees passing by would tease the little guy from a distance.
Qin Yu would giggle cheerfully whenever someone teased him, perfectly capturing everyone’s hearts.
Hearing that the baby had arrived, Zhang Wenyi ran over from his distant workstation, circled the stroller a few times, and squatted down to tease the child, overjoyed.
“How is this little thing not afraid of strangers?” Mu Lin stole a moment to come over and take a look. She also loved children. “Only a few months old, and he’s not noisy like other kids. So cute.”
“Qin Xiao Yu~ Look here~~” Yi Chen teased the cub lying in the stroller with a beaming smile. Seeing the cub reach out as if to grab his hand, Zhang Wenyi next to him also started teasing.
“Baby Qin Yu, look at Gege here~~”
Qin Yu’s attention was drawn away by Zhang Wenyi.
The two of them were having fun playing there. Qin Yao, watching from behind his desk, laughed. He tugged at Bai He’s sleeve next to him. “Xiao Bao, that little cub is quite popular.”
Bai He gave a hum. Seeing that Xiao Yu was about to start sucking his thumb, he turned to Qin Yao and said, “Where’s the pacifier you brought?”
Qin Yao found the bag, dug out the pacifier, stood up, and walked over to the stroller, pushing aside the crowd teasing the baby. “Alright, alright, we’re working here. Everyone back to your stations.”
Saying this, he squatted down and gently stuffed the pacifier into the cub’s mouth. “Uncles and Aunts have to get busy. Come on, our Qin Xiao Yu, play with your pacifier by yourself.”
Zhang Wenyi shouted with a laugh, “Bro, can’t we be called Older Brother and Older Sister?”
“What?” Qin Yao raised an eyebrow. “At your age, you’re Uncles. Still wanting to be Brothers? Hurry up and get to work, Special Assistant Zhang.”
“Fine, fine.” Zhang Wenyi waved his hand. Everyone said goodbye to Qin Yao and Bai He, leaving just the two of them and a little cub in the area.
After working for a while, Qin Yao wanted to kiss Bai He. Just as he leaned in, the little guy in the stroller started howling again. He had to let go of Bai He, reached out to pinch Qin Yu’s chubby cheek, and said with a smile, “You brat, you’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”
Qin Yu opened his big eyes wide, slowly sucking on his pacifier, no longer fussing, acting as if he hadn’t just made a noise.
Qin Yao figured it out. This little guy was doing it intentionally. He liked his Little Dad more, right? Didn’t want Big Dad to kiss Little Dad? He was going to kiss him anyway!
Qin Yao’s rebellious streak kicked in. He turned his head, cupped Bai He’s face, and leaned in. Sure enough, the little thing started fussing again.
Having kissed enough, he held his Xiao Bao, looking triumphantly at Qin Xiao Yu, who was staring blankly from the stroller.
Then, in the very next second, the little cub truly cried. An earth-shattering cry. Qin Yao couldn’t soothe him, so Bai He had to hold him and coax him. Thus, for the rest of the day, Qin Yao could only watch his Xiao Bao stay with that cub, while he sat alone and desolate behind his desk, staring bitterly.
[Translator’s Note: Ah, the domestic fluff! Qin Yao being jealous of his own son is so him. It’s sweet to see how much everyone at the office loves Qin Yu, even if he is a little troublemaker for his dads. And poor Qin Yao trying to reclaim his territory (Bai He) only to be defeated by a crying baby is hilarious. I hope you enjoyed this glimpse into their chaotic but happy family life!]
