Chapter 46: So Greedy: Insatiable Desire.
Ji Chen had no interest in things that were frail and pitiable. He helped Omegas only to satisfy his desire for combat, and avoided them to prevent entanglement.
Now, feeling provoked by a Beta, he thought this arrogant and smug Beta needed a lesson.
Seeing the Beta shut his mouth instantly, he chuckled softly.
His fingertips, calloused lightly, rubbed against the soft, warm skin, sparking subtle electric currents. Ji Chen could clearly feel the tremors of the skin beneath his fingers, like a startled butterfly fluttering its wings lightly.
The other party sensed something was wrong and subconsciously pressed his legs together, trying to stop his movements. This gesture of resistance, however, looked more like actively offering his skin into Ji Chen’s palm.
His knuckles sank deep into the softness, causing even more snowy whiteness to spill out between his fingers.
Tang Xingye was just talking big, wanting to one-up Ji Chen. He hadn’t expected the other party to actually touch him.
The gland at the back of his neck throbbed. An unfamiliar heat rushed along his spine, spreading throughout his entire body.
He was dazed for a moment. The subtle soreness and numbness left him at a loss, the sensation indescribable, causing him to squeeze his legs together again.

The air solidified for a second.
Lin Mo’s gaze was nailed to their overlapping figures, his knuckles cracking as he clenched his fists.
The Beta’s arm rested on the shoulder, wet hair sticking to his neck. His beautiful face was flushed deep red, teary eyes gazing hazily at the Alpha in the doorway, lips slightly parted, reddened by body heat.
His brain had been mashed into paste by the alcohol-scented pheromones, working slowly, unable to identify the newcomer.
“Who?”
Lin Mo gritted his teeth. He really hadn’t expected Tang Xingye’s fever to be this severe.
Just a stranger’s Omega pheromones could induce such a heat?
Most Betas were dull to pheromones. Except for the intense pheromones released during AO susceptible periods, they generally couldn’t smell them, nor would they react.
Lin Mo had naturally peeked at Tang Xingye’s medical report and knew about his special constitution. When induced into heat, he would have reactions similar to an Omega in their susceptible period.

Ji Chen was familiar with Lin Mo’s lookâthe aggression and jealousy an Alpha reveals when their cherished possession is being snatched away, that destructive impulse to deeply pierce the rival’s throat.
Thinking that Lin Mo, who was usually cold to everyone, would show such an expression, Ji Chen licked his canine teeth. “Where are you taking him?”
“To give him an injection.” Lin Mo saw the Beta unconsciously rubbing his cheek against Ji Chen’s shoulder like a cat begging for comfort. His eyes grew even darker. “Do you think he’s normal right now?”
Ji Chen looked down at Tang Xingye. His breath was scorching hot, eyelashes stuck together wetly, his whole person sunk into some chaotic state. The subtle sense of dissonance floated up in his heart again.
Is he really sick?
Ji Chen didn’t move. Lin Mo’s chest was overflowing with anxiety, jealousy, and disgust, almost breaking through his reason. He couldn’t help but shout a warning: “Ji Chen!”
“Stop pretending. The medicine is in your right pocket.” Ji Chen let go, propped up his upper body, picked the person up, and turned him around. The corners of his mouth hooked into a sarcastic arc. “Inject him right here. Don’t trust me, or afraid of exposing his privacy?”
“He can’t keep you company for fights right now.”
“Received gifts, so naturally I care a bit. Besides, your relationship with him isn’t that good either. He just said he wanted to find Lu Zhi, not you.”
“Lu Zhi is in a meeting right now; he can’t come.”
The two Alphas stared at each other, neither giving way.
The clock on the wall ticked forward two notches, making a piercing click sound.
Seeing Lin Mo’s face no longer cold as usual but gloomy, Ji Chen rarely chose not to continue provoking him.
He could have continued adding fuel to the fire, forcing this usually self-restrained guy to lose control like always. But glimpsing Tang Xingye’s slightly trembling fingers, he rarely held his tongue.
Forget it, the patient is important. No rush to fight Lin Mo; there will always be chances later.
Lin Mo tore open the packaging with a cold face, the metal foil making a crisp sound.
Smelling the familiar pheromones, Tang Xingye instinctively leaned into Lin Mo’s embrace, his hot forehead pressing against his collarbone, his jaw unconsciously rubbing against the gland covered by the collar. This dependent action made Lin Mo’s fingertips tremble imperceptibly.
Ji Chen’s voice was slightly hoarse, carrying a hint of confusion. “He wants your pheromones?”

Ji Chen cut his finger pulp and pressed it against Tang Xingye’s lips. Tang Xingye’s Adam’s apple rolled.
Instinct drove him to extend the tip of his tongue and wrap it around the fingertip. Blood carrying the clear, cold scent of cedar seeped between Tang Xingye’s lips. The Beta instinctively chased after this coolness.
Not satisfied with just the blood from the finger pulp, he licked repeatedly, bringing sticky water stains to the corners of his lips.
Ji Chen could have endured it, but at this moment, his temples throbbed violently, carrying an almost burning pain.
“Enough.” Lin Mo suddenly took a step forward, his voice terrifyingly hoarse.
Intense mint pheromones swept through the entire space, carrying the natural repulsion and hostility between Alphas. Ji Chen looked up at him, provocative laughter in his eyes. “What? Regret it?”
Lin Mo’s canine teeth pierced the inner wall of his mouth. The taste of blood spread on the tip of his tongue, but it was far less than the surging pain in his chest. He stared deathly at the smear of blood left on Tang Xingye’s lips, suddenly realizingâthis was never a multiple-choice question.
He looked at the needle of the soothing agent, the clear liquid beading at the tip.
Lin Mo cut his own finger pulp and pressed the bleeding wound against Tang Xingye’s lips.
The Beta sucked unconsciously, his Adam’s apple rolling, swallowing the Alpha’s blood along with the pheromones. Distinctly different Alpha pheromones provided comfort.
As the Beta sucked, his flushed face gradually relaxed, revealing a satisfied expression.
Ji Chen’s eyes were dark and deep, his voice low: “So greedy.”
