[ABO] President Shou Is Not a Total Shou Chapter 24

Chapter 24: Be the Bigger Person

Eight o’clock on a weekend night was the most turbulent time for crowds on the pedestrian street; doing business was like fighting a war—a minute faster meant a bit more income.

Shou Jiaxun apologized to every customer with a smile first, saying his partner was out on business today and he was slower alone, sorry for delaying their precious time.

Actually, wandering the night market on a summer night was meant to kill time; no one missed these two or three minutes. But the better the attitude in budget business, the more likable it certainly was.

Moreover, Little President Shou’s face was naturally pleasing. Many customers comforted him in return, telling him not to rush and be careful not to cut his fingers.

It was just that the fruits they sold weren’t rare commodities. Once more than two people lined up, no new customers would join.

So the customers weren’t anxious, but President Shou was. He had to race against his own time. Even if sweat flowed into his eyes, he couldn’t bear to lift his hand to wipe it.

Just as he was dizzy from busyness, a half-familiar voice suddenly asked President Shou beside his ear, “Where’s your uncle?”

It startled Shou Jiaxun, who was peeling a mango. The knife tip really almost cut his finger.

“Liang Bo!?” Shou Jiaxun looked up and saw the acquaintance, immediately showing an overjoyed expression. “Here to shop? Not with classmates?”

“Playing separately on the weekend.” Liang Bo smiled at him. “Can you handle it alone?”

Shou Jiaxun finished packing an extra-large fruit cup and handed it to the customer, then set the amount on the POS machine and tapped the customer’s phone.

After finishing one order, he continued exchanging pleasantries with Student Liang: “Uncle went out for something else, coming later. What do you want to eat? I’ll cut one for you… uh, the lychees are big today, how about I pack a cup and you peel and eat them yourself, haha.”

Liang Bo scratched his forehead shyly. “No merit, no reward. It’s not right to come eat and take for free every day. Let me do some work for you.”

“No need haha, I can handle it.” Shou Jiaxun smiled and declined.

At this time, several more customers arrived. Some wanted to weigh peaches, some wanted cut fruit cups. Before Little President Shou could speak, Liang Bo proactively helped tear plastic bags and pick peaches for the customers.

Student Liang wasn’t very smooth at first, but two people working together was always better than one working alone.

The large fruit stall with four counters finally gradually resumed its daily rhythm.

Until past ten in the evening, Uncle Guo and Guo Duoyu finally returned to their fruit stall.

Uncle Guo looked composed, appearing okay.

Guo Duoyu hung his head like a frosted eggplant.

By now, the night market crowd had gradually thinned. Seeing the two, Shou Jiaxun immediately put down the cutting board he was cleaning and asked his official partner, “Uncle, did things go smoothly?”

Uncle Guo nodded. “Quite smooth. Mainly pulling surveillance and filing the case took some time. But it’s good this way, we can have peace of mind.”

Shou Jiaxun nodded. “Yes, this is better. You guys go in and drink some water, rest a bit.

Nothing busy at the stall now, let Duoyu help pack up later.”

If the two thugs who were bricked by Guo Duoyu in the evening knew he was Uncle Guo’s son, they probably wouldn’t have dared to call the police.

But since Guo Duoyu didn’t identify himself or explain the reason when he hit them, the two beaten men thought they were in the right.

After going home, they actually called the police for help.

The result was that after the police pulled the surveillance, they found Guo Duoyu had entered the fruit shop, so they immediately came to detain him.

And although Uncle Guo was arguing with his son, he certainly couldn’t let his son have a criminal record, so of course he went to the police station to explain the situation.

The final outcome was that the two thugs walked into a trap, but couldn’t be treated as surrendering.

The rogue who broke into the shop and violently assaulted Uncle Guo the night before yesterday was definitely “sentenced” now, three years minimum.

However, the other one was only verbally educated a few sentences. The police said the pedestrian street was a key security monitoring area, full of Sky Eye cameras. Let alone committing a crime the day before yesterday, even if you did something bad the year before last, they could dig it out for you. Don’t rely on luck.

But after educating this one, they still had to make Guo Duoyu apologize to him and pay medical expenses.

Of course, Guo Duoyu was also educated a few sentences, told to call the police first in such situations instead of hitting people first.

The key was, what if you couldn’t win? Turning a small tragedy into a big tragedy would definitely be regrettable then.

But considering no one could remain calm in such a situation, and Guo Duoyu hit people with cause, it wasn’t counted as picking quarrels and provoking trouble, so no case was filed against Student Guo.

Uncle Guo glanced at the empty boxes and peels piled under the counter, pushing Shou Jiaxun’s shoulder with resignation. “You go rest instead, sigh… must be dead tired.”

Shou Jiaxun waved his hand. “No, Liang Bo has been helping here.” Saying this, he looked up and greeted Student Liang with a smile, “Hey, if you aren’t in a hurry to go home, how about I treat you to a late-night snack later?”

Liang Bo pursed his lips towards the 24-hour Cantonese restaurant across the street. “There?”

Shou Jiaxun frowned and clicked his tongue, pretending to be unhappy. “Bad luck, pick another place.”

Liang Bo untied the apron and returned it to him. “I’m relieved your partner is back. I should go home and do homework too. I’ll come play with you guys after exams, remember you owe me a late-night snack then.”

Shou Jiaxun smiled gently, waving goodbye. “Should have said you had homework earlier!”

Liang Bo pouted aggrievedly. “Miserable high school senior, who doesn’t have homework?”

Shou Jiaxun nodded with amusement. “Right, right, right, go back quickly. Come play after your exams, we’ll treat you to a big meal.”

Guo Duoyu only came over after Liang Bo walked far away, squatting low to hide behind the counter, admitting his mistake to Shou Jiaxun humbly, “Those words I said this afternoon weren’t heartfelt, completely wrong. Can you selectively lose your memory and pretend I never said them?”

Shou Jiaxun looked down at him, humming lightly with indifference. “Mmhmm, noted.”

Guo Duoyu had “regret” written all over his face, asking pitifully, “Was that the person chasing you just now?”

Shou Jiaxun denied decisively, “No.”

Guo Duoyu grinned teasingly. “Looks like a tall, rich, and handsome guy, seems like a nice person too. You really won’t consider it?”

President Shou rolled his eyes at him. “None of your business.”

“I really know I was wrong, you be the bigger person…” Guo Duoyu said, gently tugging at Shou Jiaxun’s pant leg, his attitude of admitting fault even more sincere this time.

Shou Jiaxun looked disdainful, twitching the corner of his mouth slightly. “If I treat you as a man, I really don’t want to look at you even one more time.

But if I treat you as an immature child, there doesn’t seem to be anything worth getting angry about.

How about you call me ‘Daddy’ once, and we’ll consider this matter passed.”

Guo Duoyu was dumbfounded, whispering in horror, “Shou Jiaxun, you can’t be serious? Are you lacking a son in your five elements? Do you have to make it up from me!”
