Chapter 19: Can Anyone Who Hangs Out With Gu Xinglan Be A Good Person!
The next morning, when Qin Wan woke up, Gu Xinglan was no longer in the room.
He rubbed his dizzy temples.
Recalling last night’s events, he looked down at the spots and marks all over his body, feeling depressed.
Last night, Gu Xinglan was like a mad dog possessed; once he bit, he wouldn’t let go.
He tossed him around until he passed out several times.
A night of brutality was undoubtedly the punishment for his lying.
But his lying, in the end, wasn’t it because he was afraid of his pestering, afraid of his madness acting up!
That domineering guy, restricting and depriving him of even the address for his brother—truly shameless.
Qin Wan’s eyelids drooped.
He was also a little worried.
If he accidentally called out “Brother” again while sleeping one day, the consequences would definitely be terrible.
As his thoughts ran wild, Uncle Wang knocked and walked in.
Qin Wan sat up.
“Little Mr. Qin, here are your clothes. And these are the books the Young Master asked me to give you; he said for you to read them well.”
Saying that, he handed over a garment bag and two books.
Qin Wan was curious and picked up the books to look at the covers.
Instantly, his small face turned bright red.
Complete Guide to Kissing Skills, Illustrated Guide to 100 Kissing Poses.
Qin Wan’s expression went stiff.
That damned mad dog Gu Xinglan actually made him read this kind of book, and even had the butler uncle deliver them personally!
Did he think his social death wasn’t thorough enough?
Qin Wan put the books on the bed and stole a glance at Uncle Wang.
Fortunately, Uncle Wang’s expression looked normal.
But who knew if he was suppressing laughter inside?
Qin Wan sighed and nodded. “Understood, thank you.”
Uncle Wang bowed, turned, and left.
Qin Wan glanced at the two books, full of anger.
He didn’t want to look at them for even a second.
“Get lost, you two!” He raised his foot and kicked both books onto the floor.
A crisp clatter came from his ankle again.
Qin Wan curled his leg and, habitually and persistently, input numbers into the ankle combination lock.
He didn’t know if his performance could satisfy Gu Xinglan enough to unlock this hateful chain when the one-week agreement expired.
He really couldn’t stay here for another day.
Thinking of this, he silently bent over and picked up the two books from the floor.
After getting up and washing, Auntie Zhang brought breakfast.
Qin Wan thanked Auntie Zhang politely.
“Little Mr. Qin, the ginseng soup is freshly stewed; drink a bit more.”
When Auntie Zhang opened the lid of the exquisite small soup tureen containing the ginseng soup, a tempting aroma immediately wafted out.
Qin Wan twitched his nose.
“Auntie Zhang, today’s ginseng soup smells different from before? It’s more fragrant! Mn, did you add white truffles?”
Auntie Zhang said with a beaming smile, “Mn, yes. Little Mr. Qin has quite a sharp nose.”
Qin Wan chuckled.
Auntie Zhang: “It was the Young Master who ordered it to be added.”
She blinked, then added, “Young Master said Little Mr. Qin likes eating white truffles.”
Qin Wan looked up, remembering only then that when they ate the night before last, he had indeed said that thing was delicious.
At the time, Gu Xinglan had used his stealing to stab at his heart.
Now he had Auntie Zhang add white truffle to the ginseng soup, probably to disgust him again and poke at his sore spot.
Qin Wan sighed lightly.
That guy had always been expert at destroying hearts while killing people.
But on second thought, if he got upset and sad, wouldn’t he be letting him succeed?
He wouldn’t!
The corners of Qin Wan’s mouth hooked slightly. “This soup really smells so good! Thank you, Auntie Zhang. If possible, please follow this recipe for the ginseng soup from now on.”
Seeing Qin Wan looking very happy, Auntie Zhang laughed. “Good, good! As long as Little Mr. Qin likes it!”
Qin Wan smiled, picked up the small soup tureen, and drank it down in gulps.
Breakfast was still very sumptuous.
Qin Wan ate quite a bit.
He had gradually realized that letting emotions affect his appetite was useless.
If he didn’t save his stamina and recuperate his body properly, he feared he would die in Gu Xinglan’s bed before seeing the day of his freedom.
After breakfast, Qin Wan stood at the window, staring blankly outside.
Locked up for several days, he wondered how Aunt Rong was doing now.
He missed her so much!
Could the fees at the hospital still hold out?
When he escaped, which city would be best to take Aunt Rong to for refuge?
Just as he was thinking, a knock suddenly sounded.
Uncle Wang walked in with a strange man.
Very young, in his early twenties, with a tall, handsome figure and handsome features.
“Little Mr. Qin, this is Young Master’s close friend, Young Master Fu.”
Fu Yunting walked in, his gaze freezing slightly the moment it landed on Qin Wan’s face.
“Young Master Fu, this is Little Mr. Qin.” Uncle Wang’s voice brought Fu Yunting back to his senses.
He waved his hand at Uncle Wang. “Mn, go busy yourself.”
Uncle Wang nodded and retreated.
“Qin Wan, right? Hello.” Fu Yunting took two steps forward, arriving in front of Qin Wan, and extended his hand.
Qin Wan frowned slightly, only nodding, not extending his hand.
“Hello, Young Master Fu,” he said. “Are you here to see Mr. Gu?”
Fu Yunting narrowed his beautiful peach-blossom eyes slightly, looking Qin Wan up and down.
“Not looking for Ah Lan, simply came over to see you.”
He crossed his arms, tilting his head slightly. “I thought it was some human stunner who could charm Ah Lan upside down. Tsk tsk, just so-so!”
Though his mouth said this, his eyes lingered on Qin Wan’s face for a long time, seemingly unable to move away.
He sighed inwardly.
Indeed a pretty puppy.
Very pretty!
Qin Wan’s face possessed the kind of ultimate gentle beauty.
Beautiful to the point of androgyny, yet carrying a clear, youthful sense unique to boys.
He was currently wearing a set of high-quality light grey loungewear, the top loose.
Wide-legged pants made those long legs look even straighter and more slender.
The elastic waist cinched a thin, slender waistline.
On his slender ankle, a glittering gold chain was tied.
Added to the faint sorrow revealed in those fox eyes, the whole person was shrouded in a pitiable sense of brokenness.
Fu Yunting watched, frowning slightly.
No wonder he could charm someone like Gu Xinglan.
Qin Wan felt uncomfortable under Fu Yunting’s deep, scrutinizing gaze.
“I’m nothing special, and Mr. Gu isn’t charmed upside down. Young Master Fu exaggerates,” he said, his voice cold and indifferent.
Intuition told him he didn’t like the man in front of him.
Although he was a very handsome guy, his gaze made him uncomfortable, and his words were ugly.
Besides, can anyone who hangs out with Gu Xinglan be a good person!
“Young Master Fu, do you have business here?”
“Didn’t I just say, simply came to see you.”
As Fu Yunting spoke, he made himself at home and sat on the chair.
Long legs crossed.
His gaze landed on Qin Wan’s slightly open collar.
There, marks of punishment were spread all over.
“Qin Wan, I’m also very curious. Just what did Ah Lan see in an unrated little cub like you?”
Qin Wan pressed his lips together, saying nothing.
His eyes were somewhat dim.
Gu Xinglan was a lunatic, and his friend was a psycho too.
First time meeting, and he demeaned and humiliated him for no reason.
Fu Yunting: “We had a gathering yesterday, and he left in a rush halfway through, like a cat scratching at his heart. He’s never been like this before!”
“Just because of you, Ah Lan stood us up halfway, keeping us brothers from drinking to our hearts’ content!”
Qin Wan silently observed Fu Yunting.
From the content, tone, and expression of his speech, it wasn’t hard to see that he and Gu Xinglan were definitely not ordinary friends.
Qin Wan suddenly had an idea.
