Chapter 50: Chu Xiaoran Forces a Kiss
Lin Huaizhi: “?”
Lin Huaizhi was actually amused. Leaning against the door, he laughed so hard tears almost came out.
“Chu Xiaoran, I’ve discovered you are truly ridiculous.”
The young man’s smile vanished abruptly, replaced by gloom. “Chu Xiaoran, if you can’t understand human language, go be a beast. I have no interest in repeating that I have no feelings for you.”
Chu Xiaoran didn’t back down.
He remained brimming with confidence. “Lin Huaizhi, a little acting up adds spice, but doing it too much isn’t cute anymore; it only makes me feel annoyed.”
“You did all thisâgoing on a romance variety show, chasing Huo Chen, and ruining my roleâisn’t it all just to get me? Fine, I’ll satisfy you!”
Chu Xiaoran suddenly reached out toward Lin Huaizhi, grabbing his shoulders, and leaned in to kiss him.
Lin Huaizhi’s pupils constricted.
Just as he was about to raise his leg to kick, Chu Xiaoran in front of him suddenly stumbled backward uncontrollably.
“Who!”
Chu Xiaoran’s panicked voice received no answer. Someone grabbed him by the collar and threw him aside. Then his vision spun, and immediately after, a fist smashed into his face.
“Do you… know… who… I am!”
Chu Xiaoran could barely say two words before being beaten again. Intense pain radiated from his face, and he soon tasted the metallic tang of blood in his mouth.
Chu Xiaoran struck out instinctively. He didn’t hit anyone, but he felt the attacker step back. Using this gap, he struggled with all his might to break free from the restraint.
“Huo Chen?”
“Why are you here??”
Seeing the newcomer, Chu Xiaoran was full of surprise. In a flash of lightning, he suddenly understood something. He looked at Huo Chen, then at Lin Huaizhi by the door.
“You two are for real?”
Huo Chen looked sinister. His already terrifying aura was even more overbearing at this moment.
Chu Xiaoran’s hands trembled involuntarily, and his body screamed to get away, but his male dignity nailed him to the spot. He even started accusing Lin Huaizhi.
“Lin Huaizhi! You really got together with him! What do you take me for!!”
Seeing Huo Chen’s temper worsening, Lin Huaizhi stepped out and blocked the man behind him. “Chu Xiaoran, I was truly grateful to you, and I sincerely treated you as a friend. In that relationship, which I believed was friendship, I have a clear conscience.”
“As for now…”
Lin Huaizhi said coldly, “I am not a saint, nor am I your mother. There is no reason for me to endure your rudeness and offenses time and time again.”
“I will have Zhou Ning assign you an agent. From now on, whether you live or die depends on your own fate.”
For all these years, Chu Xiaoran didn’t have an agent.
Or rather, Lin Huaizhi was his direct agent. When Lin Huaizhi was busy, Zhou Ning managed him personally.
It was laughable to say.
Lin Huaizhi had said more than once in front of the camera that he supported Chu Xiaoran to repay a kindness. But Chu Xiaoran didn’t believe it. He didn’t remember having any kindness towards Lin Huaizhi; he felt this was just an excuse for Lin Huaizhi to mask his desire.
Correct.
Chu Xiaoran didn’t remember doing Lin Huaizhi a favor.
He didn’t even remember who Lin Huaizhi was.
Who could remember?
The gloomy boy who was always dirty, looking at people from the corner of his eye with his head downâten years later, he had suddenly transformed into the boss of the country’s largest entertainment company.
Both his appearance and temperament had undergone earth-shaking changes.
Moreover, throwing that moldy bread back then was just because Chu Xiaoran was too lazy to walk to the trash can. Seeing someone dressed shabbily like a beggar, he had tossed it over casually.
He didn’t remember this small matter.
But if someone told him Lin Huaizhi was that kid who skipped three grades to join their class, the youngest one who always looked arrogant and begged for a beating, he would instantly have an impression.
Speaking in detail, he never gave Lin Huaizhi much help.
Laughing at Lin Huaizhi with classmates, saying he smelled bad, isolating Lin Huaizhiâthese were the things he actually did. That moldy bread was just an act of disrespect that coincidentally turned into help.
But none of that mattered anymore.
Regardless of whether Chu Xiaoran remembered or what he thought now, Lin Huaizhi had a clear conscience.
Only with a clear conscience…
Could he take revenge where revenge was due.
“Lin Huaizhi, what do you mean! Make yourself clear!” Chu Xiaoran didn’t want to accept his fate. He banged on the closed door, wanting to ask for the full story.
“What are you doing?”
Lin Huaizhi grabbed Huo Chen, who was about to turn around. “You don’t still want to hit him, do you?”
Huo Chen’s eyes were very dark, looking like a storm was brewing. “Why? Are you heartbroken?”
Lin Huaizhi rolled his eyes, took his hand, led him to the kitchen, turned on the hot water, and placed his blood-stained hand under it to wash.
“Me? Heartbroken for him?”
“I wish you could beat him to death, but you can’t. Killing someone means going to jail, and I can’t bear for you to go to jail.”
Huo Chen’s gaze shifted uncertainly.
He stared at Lin Huaizhi’s side profile. A moment later, he suddenly pinched Lin Huaizhi’s chin and forcibly turned his face toward him.
Seeing the gauze wrapped over the young man’s eye, Huo Chen touched it, and immediately his face looked even worse. “Ugly.”
Lin Huaizhi turned his head away and took a step back. “This is how I look right now. Look if you love to, scram if you don’t.”
Huo Chen frowned. “I’ll have someone find a few ophthalmology experts to take a look at you.”
Lin Huaizhi wiped his hands and turned to leave without even looking at Huo Chen. “Not necessary.”
No matter how obtuse Huo Chen was about feelings, he sensed something wrong from this sudden change in attitude. He grabbed Lin Huaizhi’s hand. “What are you angry about?”
The man’s strength was too great; Lin Huaizhi couldn’t shake him off after trying for a while. He looked at Huo Chen. “I’m not angry. Also, can you let go of me?”
Huo Chen stated decisively.
“You are angry.”
“Why? Because I hit Chu Xiaoran? He did that kind of thing to you without consent. Not only can I hit him, but I can also call the police to arrest him.”
Lin Huaizhi suddenly laughed.
“That kind of thing?”
“You make it sound like you are so much nobler than him. Didn’t you also force yourself on me without my consent?”
Huo Chen: “…”
Huo Chen was silent for a moment. “Then you can also call the police to arrest me.”
Lin Huaizhi choked, momentarily at a loss for words. He looked at the man’s cold brows and finally, as if deflating, said viciously, “What’s the difference between you and Chu Xiaoran? You just rely on the fact that I like you and can’t bear to let go, so you push your luck here!”
Huo Chen gripped his hand tighter, his face turning terrifyingly dark.
“You lied to me?”
“What did I lie to you about?”
Huo Chen looked like he wanted to eat someone. “You said you didn’t like Chu Xiaoran. Then what do you mean by saying I’m the same as him, relying on your ‘like’ and ‘can’t bear to let go’?”
Lin Huaizhi sneered. “You’re quite good at picking out the main points. Was I saying I like Chu Xiaoran? That I can’t bear to let go of Chu Xiaoran?”
The young man showed no weakness.
He grabbed the man’s collar and leaned in close. “Chu Xiaoran assumes I like him and relies on my tolerance toward him to test my bottom line step by step. What is the difference between you and him right now?”
“You know perfectly well that I like you. Even if you really force yourself on me, I won’t refuse. And you’re here giving me a lecture about calling the police?”
Lin Huaizhi said a lot, but Huo Chen ultimately corrected his words.
“Not like.”
Under Lin Huaizhi’s puzzled gaze, the man’s expression was serious. “You said you loved me. That is a step further than like.”
