Chapter 92: Lin Qingyan Is Mine

When Gu Fei returned with breakfast, he happened to see the disheveled An Nanyi coming out of the elevator.

An Nanyi also saw him but didn’t hesitate, running out.

Gu Fei withdrew his gaze, stepped into the elevator, and frowned slightly during the ascent, having a bad feeling. This man was probably looking for Lin Qingyan.

When the elevator reached the floor, Gu Fei quickly stepped out and hurried towards the ward, where several people were gathered.

The An family was there, along with a doctor in a white coat, examining Lin Qingyan. Gu Fei immediately saw the red marks on the young man’s pale, vulnerable neck—finger marks.

His pupils dilated slightly. He quickly walked to the young man’s side, anxiously looking at the marks on his neck. His usually calm voice was tinged with tension. “What happened?”

“Ge Fei, I’m fine.” Lin Qingyan didn’t know how to explain it when the doctor finished his examination. “Don’t worry, it’s nothing serious, but it’s best to apply some ice.”

“Okay, thank you, doctor.”

The doctor gave a few more instructions before leaving.

Gu Fei felt relieved but his gaze darkened. He turned to the others, his low voice carrying a hint of coldness. “An Nanyi did this?”

An Jing nodded, facing Gu Fei’s deep, icy gaze. He gritted his teeth and told him what had happened. “We didn’t expect him to do something like this. It won’t happen again.”

“It’s our fault. We didn’t see his true nature all these years.” Song Shuman was still emotional, feeling sad and self-reproachful.

Gu Fei’s jaw tightened, his face grim. As he was about to speak, someone tugged at his sleeve. He turned to see the young man looking at him.

“Ge Fei, I’m fine now. Don’t be angry.” The young man’s gentle voice seemed to have a hint of coaxing, instantly extinguishing the fire in Gu Fei’s heart.

“Let’s ice Yan Yan’s neck first.”

Gu Fei hummed in response, not speaking further, his gaze fixed on Lin Qingyan. A flicker of heartache and self-reproach flashed in his deep eyes. He hadn’t protected Yan Yan well enough.

After a while, An Yu returned with an ice pack from the nurse. “Give me the ice pack.” Song Shuman was about to take it when Gu Fei was faster.

“Auntie, I’ll do it.” His expression remained calm and composed. Song Shuman could only nod. “Then I’ll trouble you.”

She thought Gu Fei genuinely treated Yan Yan like a younger brother, caring for him so much that it made her feel inadequate as a mother.

An Jing silently looked away, doing some mental preparation before looking back.

An Yu, seeing his older brother’s complex expression, silently looked at the ceiling.

Therefore… the four people standing in the ward all looked at Lin Qingyan with concern in their eyes.

“…” Lin Qingyan felt awkward and uncomfortable under their gazes.

Having just reunited with his family, Lin Qingyan awkwardly called out to his parents and brothers. “I’m fine. You can go ahead; you don’t need to stay here.”

“No, little brother, it’s not easy to reunite with our family, so we naturally want to…” An Yu was interrupted as An Jing pulled him out. “Let’s go.”

“Shuman, weren’t you going to make Yan Yan some chicken soup to help him recover? Let’s go prepare the ingredients.”

“Right…”

Soon, only Gu Fei and Lin Qingyan remained. Lin Qingyan’s stiff body relaxed slightly. Gu Fei noticed his every reaction.

Gu Fei calmly applied ice to Lin Qingyan’s neck, casually asking, “Yan Yan, when are you planning to go back to the An family?”

“I don’t know…” Lin Qingyan was hesitant. His parents wanted him to return as soon as possible, but if he moved out from Gu Fei’s place, he would spend less time with him.

“Yan Yan, stay at my place for now. I can take care of you. You can go back after your injury heals.”

“This…” Lin Qingyan hesitated.

They were very close, the man almost whispering in the young man’s ear. “Ge Fei has selfish reasons. He doesn’t want Yan Yan to leave, so stay, okay?”

The man’s warm breath against Lin Qingyan’s earlobe made his ears turn red. He was easily persuaded. “Then… okay.”

Gu Fei’s lips curved up slightly, a hint of a smile in his low, magnetic voice. He simply said, “Good.”

Lin Qingyan felt shy and quickly looked away, his ears even redder, as if they were about to bleed.

In fact, he didn’t want to leave Gu Fei either.

They had only recently confirmed their relationship and should be in the honeymoon phase, but they’d met infrequently. Lin Qingyan didn’t want to be separated from Gu Fei.

Meanwhile, the bewildered An Yu was dragged out and released only when they were some distance away. “Big Brother, you’re crazy. Why did you drag me away?”

“You’re the crazy one.” An Jing tapped his head with his index finger, an exasperated expression on his face. “Young Master An, you must have been a husky in your past life.”

An Yu: “Huh?”

An Jing ruthlessly stated, “Stupid, silly, and reckless.”

“…” An Yu twitched his mouth. “Big Brother, honestly, am I not the An family’s biological son either? Was I picked up from a trash can?”

An Jing: “Oh… so you know.”

An Yu: “…” He was getting angry.

“Alright, I’m just kidding.” An Jing collected himself and became serious. “Yan Yan isn’t familiar with us yet. If we stayed there, he’d feel awkward.”

Song Shuman and An Lingkang, who had followed them out, came over. Song Shuman sighed almost inaudibly, her voice full of heartache. “Yes, Yan Yan has only just reunited with us and needs time to accept us.”

“The nineteen years we missed, no matter what we do, can’t be made up for.”

An Lingkang said earnestly, “All we can do is, after Yan Yan comes home, treat him well, let him feel the warmth and love of this family, and let him feel a sense of belonging.”

“So that’s it…” An Yu finally understood. He confidently gave himself a thumbs-up. “I’m good at this. I’ll take Yan Yan out for good food and drinks every day, take him clubbing, riding motorcycles; let him feel my overflowing love as Big Brother Two…”

“Hey, don’t go! Mom, Dad, Big Brother, wait for me!!”

However, not long after, they learned that Lin Qingyan would continue to live with Gu Fei, and their plans to shower him with warmth and love would be put on hold.

Song Shuman felt sad. “Yan Yan, don’t you want to come home to live with Mom and Dad? Do you have any concerns? You can tell us; it’s okay.”

She thought her son was reluctant because of An Nanyi.

“No, I don’t have any concerns. It’s just…” Lin Qingyan felt guilty. He couldn’t say he was dating Gu Fei and didn’t want to leave his boyfriend.

Gu Fei said, “Auntie, Yan Yan is used to living at my place. He plans to go back after his injury heals. It’s more convenient. Don’t worry; I’ll take good care of him.”

You’re full of it, An Jing silently gritted his teeth. He was extremely reluctant for his brother to be with Gu Fei. Thinking of what he’d told Gu Fei before, An Jing regretted it deeply.

He had thought Gu Fei, single for twenty-seven years, finally met someone he liked, and he had been happy and blessed for him. Who knew Gu Fei’s choice would be his brother!

He regretted it. Gu Fei should have stayed single his whole life!

Yet, his mother agreed. “Gu Fei, since that’s the case, I’ll trouble you.” Yan Yan doesn’t want to go back; there’s nothing we can do. We can’t force him to go back; we have to respect his wishes.

“You’re welcome.” Gu Fei’s tone remained calm and indifferent.

“…” An Jing almost spat out blood.

After a while, he finally called Gu Fei aside, wanting to have a heart-to-heart with his longtime friend.

However, his friend wasn’t interested in a heart-to-heart.

“If you want to persuade me to break up with Yan Yan,” Gu Fei calmly uttered two words, “Forget it.”

His calm tone was uncompromising.

The words An Jing had been preparing to say were swallowed back down. After all these years, he knew Gu Fei well. Whatever Gu Fei said, he would do.

He sighed helplessly. “Why is it Yan Yan?”

“Why can’t it be him?” Gu Fei countered.

“He’s my brother. How can I rest assured letting him be with a man? He’s a public figure. If everyone knows, he’ll have to endure so much criticism!”

Gu Fei remained unfazed. “I will protect him.” He paused. “I think you should ask his opinion, instead of assuming what’s good for him.”

An Jing: “…” With Yan Yan’s obedient and compliant nature, he’s completely under your control, you old fox! You say east, and he definitely won’t go west!

An Jing took two deep breaths and asked again, “How far have you two gone?”

Gu Fei: “We’ve done everything we should have.”

“…” An Jing took another deep breath, trying to stay calm.

Gu Fei seemed to remember something and slightly raised the corners of his lips, looking at An Jing with amusement. “Do you remember something you once said to me?”

An Jing: “What?”

“You said it to me on the phone,” Gu Fei’s tone held a hint of mischief. He said lightly, “You said, ‘Lin Qingyan is mine, mine for life.'”

An Jing: “…”

Damn it!
