The Straight Heartthrob: Ruthlessly Forced by a Madman Chapter 13

Chapter 13: Brother, You’re Finally Awake

Wen Yuhuai didn’t speak or move. He stood there like a log, letting the man kiss and hug him.

The man pressed obsessively against his ear, murmuring, “I will be watching you from the shadows, forever and ever. Baby, don’t forget me too quickly.”

Wen Yuhuai let out a disdainful tsk. Taking advantage of the pitch-black environment, he rolled his eyes silently. Just as he was about to say something, a sharp pain pricked his arm. He looked down instinctively, only to see a silver light flash past.

The drug flowed through his blood and quickly began to take effect.

The young man slowly lost consciousness, falling into the full embrace of the man who had been waiting for the opportunity.

“Brother, you’re finally awake—”

Wen Yuhuai tried several times before barely managing to lift his heavy eyelids. Everything before him was excessively unfamiliar: a clean and tidy hospital ward, a large window directly opposite. The sunlight outside was excellent, pouring into the room through the transparent glass pane. The entire room was illuminated brightly, incredibly warm and cozy.

He slowly moved his eyes and saw the person who had just spoken—Song Xingmian, standing at the front of the hospital bed.

The boy had a head of chestnut-brown curly hair. His features were as exquisite and beautiful as ever, yet not effeminate.

His eyes, having not seen sunlight for too long, were irritated and shed physiological tears. He squinted, subconsciously wanting to raise his hand to block the sun, but a pulling pain suddenly came from the back of his hand.

“Hiss~”

Song Xingmian hurried over, put down the hand that was hooked up to the IV, and got up to draw the curtains. “Brother, don’t move. This bottle of medicine isn’t finished yet.”

Having been locked up for so long, Wen Yuhuai finally saw a living person again. He stared straight at Song Xingmian’s exquisite brows and asked subconsciously, “Weren’t you studying abroad? When did you come back?”

Song Xingmian looked at him with a face full of grievance. “Something this big happened to Brother; of course I had to come back. How could studying abroad be more important than Brother?”

“Brother doesn’t know how useless they are. You were missing for so long and they couldn’t find you. In the end, it was my people who found you on the street corner—”

“Little Huai, Little Huai, you’re finally back—”

Song Xingmian was interrupted mid-sentence. The ward door was pushed open hurriedly, and Jiang Jing rushed to the bedside in three steps.

Wen Yuhuai looked at the woman by the bed, his tone full of helplessness. “Mom.”

Jiang Jing glared at him. Her eyes were bloodshot, and tears sparkled in the corners. “I told you long ago to be more steady in your actions and learn from your two older brothers. Now look, you don’t even know who you provoked, getting kidnapped for so many days. You’re going to worry your mother to death.”

Wen Yuhuai’s eyelid twitched. His gaze landed behind Jiang Jing, where two tall, slender figures stepped in a few paces behind her.

Dressed in sharp suits, looking like refined scumbags.

“Ah Yu, welcome back.”

Watching the two enter one after the other, Wen Yuhuai felt their gazes were a bit… strange. There was an inexplicable feeling of hunters looking at their captured prey with the certainty of victory.

His heart seemed to skip a beat, but he still greeted them subconsciously. “Senior Gu, Brother Jian.”

Jiang Jing sat on the chair beside the bed and began to chatter. “During your disappearance, they all helped a lot. Not to mention these two brothers, even Little Mian and Shiyu disregarded their studies and business, flying straight back to Beijing. When you are discharged, you must thank them properly…”

Wen Yuhuai had been afraid of her nagging since childhood. Hearing her go on like this made his head swell. He forgot about that strange feeling from a moment ago, raised his hand that wasn’t on the IV, and covered his eyes, begging for mercy. “Mom, I know. You go back and rest first. I’m fine, really fine.”

Jiang Jing obviously didn’t believe him, looking distressed at the IV drip on his hand. “How can you be fine if you’re on a drip? Go for a full body check-up later. What if those crazies injected some random junk into you?”

Wen Yuhuai’s heart tightened instantly. Thinking of what the man did to him, he found it hard to speak. He didn’t know if there were any messy marks left on his body. If they were seen…

“Um, Mom, I’m a little tired. You guys go back first; I want to sleep for a while.”

Jiang Jing tucked in his blanket and looked back at the others, speaking gently. “You guys have been busy for days. Go back and rest first; I’ll watch over Little Huai.”

Song Xingmian spoke first. He was the youngest among them and the baby of his family. He was usually spoiled and pampered, so he spoke as if he were acting coquettishly. “Auntie, I’m not leaving. I haven’t seen Brother for a long time; I want to stay with Brother.”

The other two also found places to settle themselves. This was a VIP ward, spacious, with a sofa set near the window. The two each occupied half of the sofa. The meaning was clear: they weren’t leaving either.

Now Wen Yuhuai was the one in a difficult spot.

Stared at by several pairs of eyes, he braced himself and closed his eyes to fake sleep. However, his eyelids kept trembling; anyone could tell he wasn’t asleep.

After a while, he couldn’t keep up the act. Smashing the cracked pot, he opened his eyes and asked, “Where is my phone? Did you find it?”

Jiang Jing was just about to scold him for thinking about his phone at a time like this, but before she could speak, the three beside her reached into their pockets in unison. Three brand-new mobile phones were extended toward the hand on the bed.

Jiang Jing: “…”

Wen Yuhuai looked at the three phones by his hand and blinked slowly. “You guys are—”

Gu Yanxiu placed the phone on the bedside table with gentlemanly thoughtfulness. “Sorry, Ah Yu. Your previous phone was likely destroyed by the other party; we couldn’t find it. I bought a new one. Make do with it for now.”

Fu Xingjian raised an eyebrow and placed his phone on top of Gu Yanxiu’s. “Make do with what? Use this one. It’s still your previous SIM card; I had it replaced. It’s ready to use.”

Wen Yuhuai’s eyes lit up. That was great; his social media apps were bound to that number. But before he could reach for it, a phone was shoved directly into his hand.

Song Xingmian looked aggrieved, like a child whose toy had been snatched away. “I was wondering why I couldn’t get a replacement card; turns out Brother Fu beat me to it. But being first doesn’t matter; Brother must use mine.”

Wen Yuhuai had always been indulgent toward this obedient boy next door. He took the phone and placed it by the bed. “Okay, okay, okay. I’ll use it, I’ll use it.”

Song Xingmian was happy. Two pear dimples appeared at the corners of his mouth; his smile was sweet and cheerful. “I knew Brother would like it.”

Wen Yuhuai deliberately kept a straight face to scare him. “Look how old you are; no acting cute.”

Song Xingmian wasn’t afraid of him. He tugged at his sleeve and shook it, pushing his luck. “I want to.”

Wen Yuhuai could only indulge him, reaching out to ruffle his curly hair. “As you wish.”

He lowered his head to fiddle with the new phone, missing the way the gazes of the other two deepened abruptly as they looked at him.
