Chapter 119
Shen Shuyu smelled it and said directly, “Wen Jiafei, did you smell a scent?”
Shen Shuyu blinked, his eyelashes brushing lightly against Wen Jiafei’s palm, causing a ticklish sensation.
Wen Jiafei froze for a moment, then immediately withdrew the hand covering Shen Shuyu.
Shen Shuyu suddenly saw the light and squinted uncomfortably. He then looked at the person standing beside him. By this time, they had moved a short distance away from Classroom 106 and were standing at the corner. Shen Shuyu looked back at the door, clicked his tongue, and asked again, “Did you smell anything just now?”
“What?” Wen Jiafei said. “No.”
“Could it be that I was hallucinating?” Shen Shuyu muttered, then raised his voice slightly. “I smelled bitter orange just now. You didn’t smell it?”
Wen Jiafei said, “No.”
Shen Shuyu stared at Wen Jiafei for a long while, but Wen Jiafei looked natural, as if he was telling the truth.
Wen Jiafei asked back, “Why are you looking at me?”
Only then did Shen Shuyu withdraw his gaze. “Nothing. Maybe I smelled it wrong.”
Wen Jiafei lowered his eyes. This time, he gave a low hum of acknowledgment, but his naturally hanging hand clenched unconsciously. He looked at Shen Shuyu’s back, and it was a long time before he withdrew his gaze.
The two waited at the corner for a while, but neither Su Mu nor Chi Yanxun came out. Instead, they waited for someone else.
Shen Xili walked over from behind them and asked in confusion, “What are you two doing standing here?”
Startled by the sudden voice, Shen Shuyu shivered. He turned his head and, seeing it was Shen Xili, said, “Su Mu is inside.”
Shen Xili understood. Probably asking for reconciliation. Su Mu had been waiting in the Reserve Department classroom all morning, but Chi Yanxun never showed up. It was almost time for class, so he had no choice but to leave.
However, he was quite surprised that Shen Shuyu hadn’t rushed in to get involved. It seemed he really had figured it out—Chi Yanxun wasn’t a good partner.
Shen Xili crossed his arms and walked past Shen Shuyu toward the classroom. Shen Shuyu exclaimed, “Where are you going?”
Shen Xili glanced sideways at him. “It’s the middle of winter. You want to stand here forever?”
“But they are still inside,” Shen Shuyu reminded him.
“So what? They are on Amor too. Just because of them, does everyone have to leave the planet to make room for them?”
The logic was sound.
But it didn’t seem comparable, right? If the two were kissing passionately inside and Shen Xili saw it, he definitely wouldn’t get together with Chi Yanxun later.
The male lead of a “chasing the wife to the crematorium” arc had to be clean.
But the plot had long collapsed beyond recognition, so this one time wouldn’t make a difference.
Shen Shuyu patted Wen Jiafei’s arm. “Let’s go.”
Wen Jiafei followed silently.
However, as the three got closer, they heard Su Mu’s hysterical questioning from inside 106: “If the person with ninety percent compatibility with you was Shen Shuyu, would you be with him because of the compatibility rate too?”
Shen Shuyu stopped in his tracks. The other two looked at him. Shen Shuyu hurriedly said, “Has nothing to do with me.”
After saying that, he felt his denial was too quick and seemed inconsistent with his past behavior, so he corrected himself, “I haven’t entered the AO allocation system yet… Besides, what does their argument have to do with me? It’s not like I caused it.”
Just as he finished speaking, the door of 106 was yanked open. Su Mu walked out with red eyes and a terrible expression, looking as if he had been bullied. He hadn’t expected to run into the three of them outside. He froze for a moment, then fixed his gaze on Shen Shuyu.
Shen Shuyu felt a chill down his spine from the stare. He saw Su Mu walking toward him angrily and screeching, “Are you satisfied now?!”
No, what does your breakup have to do with me? Shen Shuyu felt inexplicably yelled at.
Su Mu didn’t give him any chance to retort. Passing through the middle of the three, he slammed his shoulder hard into Shen Shuyu.
But awkwardly, Shen Shuyu’s physique was much better than his, plus he exercised long-term. Even after being bumped, he didn’t move a muscle. Instead, Su Mu stumbled back a step.
Seeing this, Shen Xili couldn’t hold back a laugh from the side. Wen Jiafei remained icy cold. Su Mu felt even more aggrieved. He glared at the three, reached out to shove Shen Shuyu, and then ran away crying.
Shen Shuyu, having been shoved, was caught by Wen Jiafei. Only then did Shen Shuyu stand steady. Looking in the direction Su Mu left, he held it in for a while before saying, “Is he okay?”
Simply sick!
Shen Xili stopped laughing. “Probably tried to reconcile but failed. Looking at him just now, Little Young Master, you have to be careful later.”
Shen Shuyu wasn’t afraid of that, but seeing Su Mu like this made him sigh even more.
Shen Xili looked at the open door of Classroom 106 and continued, “However, he said it just now. Chi Yanxun will only be with someone with high compatibility. Little Young Master, is he really worth you doing so much for him?”
Shen Shuyu shrugged and didn’t answer the question. “They’re gone. Let’s go in.”
He walked into 106 first. Shen Xili and Wen Jiafei looked at each other. Their gazes held for a few seconds before they withdrew them and followed Shen Shuyu.
When they entered, Chi Yanxun was cleaning up the messed-up props. No wonder they heard a noise earlier; Su Mu must have smashed these props. If Feng Xing saw this, he’d probably be pinching his philtrum and calling for an ambulance.
Hearing footsteps, Chi Yanxun looked back. At a glance, he saw Shen Shuyu standing in the middle. His gaze lingered on his face for a few seconds before he looked down and continued picking things up.
It was Shen Xili who showed camaraderie. He put his bag aside, walked up, and without saying much, helped collect some items.
Chi Yanxun whispered, “Thanks.”
The two picked up things for a while before Feng Xing arrived. He was originally happy, but the moment he stepped into the classroom, he wailed, “Which bastard did this!!!”
Shen Shuyu winked at him, but Feng Xing didn’t understand and got even angrier. “Don’t let me catch who broke the props, or I’ll skin his…”
“Sorry,” Chi Yanxun interrupted Feng Xing.
Feng Xing looked at Chi Yanxun. Chi Yanxun said, “I accidentally broke them. I’ll find a way to compensate.”
Feng Xing looked at the props that were basically reduced to debris. This is called accidental?
The day Chi Yanxun blew up Amor, he’d probably just say a light “oops” too.
He could tolerate lateness and absence, but ruining the things he worked so hard to make? Feng Xing was adding new hatred to old grudges.
Hearing Chi Yanxun speak, his face didn’t improve. Chi Yanxun was already unhappy because of Su Mu, and seeing Feng Xing’s silent anger, he felt irritated too.
He had already apologized and promised to take responsibility. Why was he still dissatisfied?
In the end, the others noticed the situation wasn’t right and stepped in to smooth things over, saying there was still time and with more people, they could fix it quickly.
Feng Xing took a deep breath. “Rehearsal is next Wednesday. We need these things before rehearsal.”
Chi Yanxun gave a simple “Mn” and put the things in his hand aside.
Shen Shuyu walked over silently to Feng Xing. Seeing him grinding his teeth in anger but unable to say anything, he patted Feng Xing’s back soothingly.
Feng Xing couldn’t help glaring at him, as if asking: What is there to like about this kind of person?
Shen Shuyu pressed his lips together and smiled. Indeed, I want to ask that question too.
This interlude ended after lunch arrived. Just as Shen Shuyu sat down, Shen Xili, Wen Jiafei, and Feng Xing sat on his left, right, and opposite side.
Surrounded by the three, Shen Shuyu didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “No, is this necessary for you three?”
Chi Yanxun wished he could stay eight hundred miles away from him!
Feng Xing didn’t listen and put a piece of meat in his bowl. “Eat!”
Shen Shuyu looked at the two beside him. Shen Xili and Wen Jiafei were already eating silently.
Shen Shuyu was about to say something when Feng Xing glared at him from across the table.
…Fine, he’d just eat quietly, okay?
