Chapter 27: He Loved Tangtang, Loved Her the Most
“Mother, was Tangtang here?”
“Yes.”
Ever since learning that her sons had refused the marriage with the Princess because of their ambitions, and not solely because of Su Miantang, Countess Joy had let go of her reservations about their pursuit of her. She would no longer stand in their way; after all, she quite liked the girl too. Besides, that wasn’t the most important thing right now.
“Really?!”
It wasn’t a dream!
Fred and Enzo were pleasantly surprised.
“But how could she have pheromones?”
“It wasn’t pheromones. It was a new type of Imperial suppressant she developed herself and brought here that saved you.”
Developed herself? New Imperial suppressant?
The brothers didn’t understand a word of it, but they couldn’t wait to fly to the Jiuqing Villa Area to see her.
However, Countess Joy stopped them.
She sighed lightly and handed them the summons she was holding. “Sons, look at this.”
Fred and Enzo took the summons, and their excitement instantly sank. Just as they had expected, the Princess wouldn’t let them off easily.
But did she think this could threaten them?
Seeing their expressions, Countess Joy knew their minds were made up. “Su Miantang really hit the mark. She truly understands you better than I do.”
“Mother, did Tangtang say something?”
“She said…”
Countess Joy opened the living room surveillance record and played back their conversation.
Fred and Enzo stared unblinkingly at the young girl in the video. When they heard her say, “They are two soldiers with lofty aspirations and tenacious willpower, willing to give everything for their dreams, and I am the same,” their hearts trembled. It was a resonance of souls, far more shocking and profound than any physical pleasure.
Tangtang.
She really was the most unique person in the world, the one who understood them best.
They wanted to be with her, to be with her forever and ever.
But…
Fred looked at the summons in his hand. The iron-willed Colonel, who had never shed a tear, felt his eyes sting with acidity for the first time.
There was no chance anymore.
Enzo also turned his head and burrowed back into his room.
Just moments ago, upon waking, he had wanted to find Tangtang like a madman. But now, a prisoner about to face an indefinite jail sentence wasn’t worthy!
Su Miantang submitted the “Guardian” application to the Central Government, and the very next day, she received a stamped reply—Approved!
She happily prepared to share the news with Fred and Enzo, only to realize that two days and two nights had passed, and neither of them had contacted her once.
Even though they had woken up long ago.
That ungrateful eagle and wolf!
She decided to take the initiative. Just as she was about to dial their numbers, she received a call from Countess Joy.
“Miss Su Miantang, please come to the estate quickly. Fred and Enzo are torturing themselves to death…”
What?!
Su Miantang’s expression turned serious. Was there a problem with the suppressant? Side effects?
“What happened to them?”
“They’ve locked themselves in their room for two days and two nights without eating a single grain of rice. They’ve just been drinking continuously. If this goes on, their bodies will collapse before they even make it to court.”
So, they were throwing a tantrum.
Su Miantang breathed a sigh of relief. “It’s okay. Let me handle it.”
In the pitch-black room, Fred and Enzo slumped in the corner, drunk and dispirited, surrounded by crushed beer cans.
They repeatedly picked up cans, pouring alcohol down their throats, unconsciously murmuring, “Tangtang, Tangtang…”
Ding—
The special ringtone for a priority contact rang out. Like an illusion, both of their bodies jolted.
Tangtang!
Although they missed Su Miantang every single moment, when they saw her number on their optical computers, they became cowardly and withdrew.
They were about to become prisoners; they shouldn’t have any further contact with her.
Su Miantang called twice, but no one answered. Just as she was about to dial a third time—planning to go directly to the Earl’s Estate if they didn’t pick up—the call connected.
It was Fred.
“Hello.”
From that single word, she could hear his depression, his dejection, and a trace of deliberately feigned indifference.
“You’re awake?”
“Mn. Is something the matter?”
“Nothing.”
Su Miantang wanted to laugh at his pretentiously distant tone.
Colonel, if your acting skills are poor, don’t try to be a hero.
“I heard you received the court summons and are facing life imprisonment. Since we know each other, do you want to come out and meet for the last time?”
The words “last time” delivered a significant mental blow to Fred.
Yes, the last time.
Once in prison, he would never see Tangtang again…
He couldn’t hold up his façade any longer. In a hoarse voice, he agreed, “Okay.”
Perhaps seeing her this one last time would be enough to sustain him through the long prison term ahead.
“What about Enzo?”
Although he usually got jealous of his younger brother, this last meeting wasn’t just for him; it was for his brother too.
“Enzo?” Su Miantang said nonchalantly. “Forget about him. I called him several times and he didn’t pick up. He probably doesn’t have any feelings for me anymore. It’s fine if we don’t meet.”
Next door, Enzo, whose wolf ears were pricked up and hearing sensitive, shuddered and bounced up from the floor.
He did!
He loved Tangtang! He loved Tangtang the most!
Without a moment’s hesitation, he dialed Su Miantang. “Tangtang, I want to see you too!”
Su Miantang covered her mouth and laughed. “Alright, let’s set a place. I’ll send you the location.”
After hanging up, Fred and Enzo immediately got up. Showering, shaving, styling their hair, and changing clothes—it was all done in one smooth sequence.
In the living hall, Countess Joy, who was pacing around anxiously not knowing what to do, suddenly saw her two sons—who had been holed up in their room listless all day—walk out.
Not only did they come out, but they were also groomed neatly and looked extraordinarily handsome.
“…”
She had been pleading with them earnestly, with tears and snot, for two days, and they acted like they couldn’t hear her. But one call from Su Miantang, and they were leaving immediately?
What a sin. How did she give birth to two such pure-bred love-brains!
Fred and Enzo followed the location to the West City. They arrived just in time to see Su Miantang stepping off an aircraft.
She held a light-colored parasol, wore high heels and a velvet dress. The form-fitting design outlined her graceful and curvy figure, making her look both mysterious and sexy. A lace choker circled her neck, and her hair was loosely pinned up with a few stray strands falling down. She was breathtakingly beautiful, like a celestial being, making people afraid to even breathe.
Even though they had seen her many times, the brothers still stared at her unblinkingly, dumbfounded.
She was simply too beautiful…
They thought they would never forget her.
Even in prison, until they grew old, until they died.
Come here~
Su Miantang waved at them from a distance. Seeing no reaction, she walked forward.
“What’s wrong?”
“Did being locked at home make you silly?”
“I… I…”
“Tangtang.”
The two snapped back to reality, feeling a bit embarrassed—too embarrassed to say they were stupefied by her beauty.
“Don’t just stand there, come in with me.”
