Chapter 80: Uncontrollable Emotion
Qi Yan pressed tightly against his back, arms encircling his waist, burying his face in the crook of his neck. He inhaled deeply, carrying a heavy longing that seemed about to overflow.
“I missed you so much…”
Jiang Yunianâs mind went blank, the blood in his entire body seemingly halting at this moment. The force from behind grew tighter, squeezing him until he could barely breathe, yet bringing a strange sensation that made his limbs go weak. He opened his mouth but couldn’t make a sound.
From inside the restroom, the faint sound of Qian Cheng humming a song drifted out, completely off-key.
Qi Yan was yanked back by the noise. He lifted his head slightly, the tenderness in his eyes instantly covered by a layer of coldness. He turned his head, lips almost touching Jiang Yunianâs ear, his voice pressed very low, revealing danger. “Did he bully you?”
Before Jiang Yunian could shake his head to deny it, the sound of flushing water came from the restroom.
Immediately after, there was movement from the stall inside. Qi Yan extended his long arm, and with a soft click, he actually slid the bolt of the restroom door shut from the outside.
“You…” Jiang Yunian frowned and struggled. “No, don’t do this.”
Qi Yan didn’t let go. Instead, he clamped him even tighter, hot breath spraying behind his sensitive ear: “Tell the truth.”
“…”
Was he that easy to bully? What he said was the truth.
His chest was constricted tightly by an arm, squeezing out a muffled voice. “He gave me money.”
“He gives you money, so you do whatever he asks?” Qi Yanâs voice sank.
Jiang Yunian thought for a moment and said, “He pays well.”
He really needed money. Qian Cheng was generous; he worked and got paid. It was only right.
Qi Yanâs face changed instantly. He repeated softly, as if confirming, yet also suppressing something: “Anything goes?”
This sentence without context confused Jiang Yunian. He felt a warm, soft object touch his earlobe extremely quickly, the sensation so fleeting it felt like an illusion.
Jiang Yunian stiffened all over. The roots of his ears burned slightly, and a layer of light pink dyed his neck, threatening to spread to his cheeks. “It’s not what you think.”
Qi Yan stared at the rapidly spreading crimson, his Adam’s apple rolling uncontrollably. Just then, banging sounds came from inside the restroom. Qian Cheng realized the door wouldn’t open and started cursing in exasperation: “Fuck! Who is it? Which bastard locked the door?! Open it for me!”
The door panel was close at hand, vibrating with the pounding.
Jiang Yunian wanted to go open it, but Qi Yan grabbed his wrist. Without explanation, he pulled him into a small storage room for cleaning tools next to the restroom, closed the door backhanded, and pinned him heavily against the door panel.
“Ngh…” His back hitting the door, Jiang Yunian couldn’t help but let out a short, muffled groan.
Immediately after, he felt two unfamiliar hands touch the sides of his waist, carrying a scorching temperature and a faint tendency to explore downward.
Jiang Yunian was stunned, not understanding why he was suddenly dragged here. He panicked and used his hands to block, his voice trembling: “Don’t… not allowed… to touch randomly…”
However, that hand nimbly avoided his obstruction, reached directly into the front pocket of his jeans, fumbled around, and pulled out a meal cardâthe very one Qian Cheng had given him.
Qi Yan looked at the card. The thought of his brother spending another man’s money made him unhappy, so he tossed the card onto the floor casually.
“Don’t throw it!” Jiang Yunian cried out. There was over ten thousand yuan on it; if it was lost, he couldn’t afford to pay it back.
He hurriedly bent down to pick it up, but just as his fingertips were about to touch the card, a white sneaker stepped on it, stopping his movement.
Then he was pulled up forcefully.
Qi Yanâs voice revealed some displeasure, and a trace of imperceptible grievance: “Is what I gave not enough? You have to use another man’s money?”
Jiang Yunian raised his head abruptly, crashing into those deep eyes. He remembered the thick “break-up fee” He Qing had passed on. That was indeed an amount he might not be able to save even working for four years. In that moment, he recognized the gap between them incredibly clearly, and also accepted certain realities.
He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. “It’s enough. I understand what you mean.”
Qi Yanâs expression softened slightly, thinking he finally accepted his compensation. His eyes turned gentle as he called out low, “Ge…”
However, Jiang Yunianâs next sentence was like a basin of ice water, instantly extinguishing the fire of hope he had just kindled.
“I will take the money and live my life well,” Jiang Yunian lowered his eyes, daring not look at him, “I won’t disturb you again.”
Qi Yan froze entirely, as if he hadn’t heard clearly, or perhaps couldn’t believe his ears. The softness on his face shattered bit by bit, replaced by a sinister gloom. “What did you say?”
A shadow loomed down, a strong sense of oppression wrapping him tightly. Jiang Yunian feared him like this the most. His heart tightened, thinking of the past concealment and deception, and the old shoebox in the closet filled with his personal items… He thought, this was Jiang Yanâs true face. What he said before falling into the river six months ago about “not lying to him anymore” was indeed true.
He pursed his lips tightly, afraid to say another word.
“Doesn’t Ge know best what kind of person I am?” Qi Yanâs voice was low and hoarse, filled with paranoia. “If Ge dares to leave me, wherever you go, I will follow.”
“You can try.”
Outside, the sound of Qian Cheng banging on the door and cursing continued, forming a stark contrast to the heaviness inside the storage room.
Jiang Yunian pressed his hand against Qi Yanâs shoulder, using a little force to push him away slightly. He turned his head, whispering, “He, he’s still waitâ”
Before the word “waiting” could be spoken, all remaining words were blocked back by a fierce kiss.
Qi Yan had already been missing him to the point of madness, bitterly restraining himself until now. Hearing him in his arms, yet daring to think of another man, speaking up for another manâhis reason collapsed instantly, unable to endure any longer.
He pressed Jiang Yunian against the door panel with even more force, grinding against his lips almost roughly. He pried open the teeth that had loosened slightly from pain, his wet tongue driving straight in, tangling with the soft tongue that had nowhere to escape. He sucked and entangled frantically, squeezing the thin air from his lungs, as if to swallow him whole.
“Mmph… Mmh…” Jiang Yunian was dizzied by this stormy kiss, enduring it helplessly. His lips were sucked numb, the tip of his tongue hurt from being entangled, and he felt like he was going to suffocate.
Only when Jiang Yunian began to struggle from lack of oxygen did Qi Yan pull back slightly, resting his forehead against his, panting low. He looked at the person in his armsâeyes misty from the kiss, lips swollen, cheeks flushedâand the possessiveness in his eyes was undisguised. “In front of me, you’re not allowed to mention other men.”
Jiang Yunian went limp in his arms, gasping for large mouthfuls of air, not yet fully recovered from the kiss that had nearly suffocated him.
“Did you hear me?”
However, before he could catch his breath, Qi Yan pinched his chin again and blocked his lips once more without explanation.
The kiss this time was more intense, deeper than before. Hot breaths intertwined, gradually becoming scorching. Occasionally, ambiguous, wet sounds spilled from their closely pressed lips and teeth.
Qi Yan sensed the body in his arms growing softer and softer, relying entirely on his support to barely stand. The hand that had been properly holding his waist now stirred, tentatively exploring under the hem of his thin T-shirt, caressing that delicate skin.
“!” Jiang Yunian shuddered violently, startling awake from the stupor. He scrambled to tug at the wrist underneath, trying to pull out the hand causing trouble.
That hand was extremely strong, sticking firmly to his skin, unmoving, even faintly trending upward.
“Wu… wu…” Forced into a corner, Jiang Yunian was like a little rabbit with nowhere to run. Hardening his heart, he bit down on the tongue plundering recklessly in his mouth.
“Hss…” Qi Yan retracted his tongue in pain, and the confining force loosened with it.
Jiang Yunian seized the chance to push him away!
Before the other party could recover and try a comeback, Jiang Yunian covered his slightly heaving chest, raised his wet eyes, and asked with suppressed endurance:
“Are you going to force me?”
This sentence, like a thunderclap, instantly dispersed all the crazy desire in Qi Yanâs eyes.
All movements froze, his turbid, fervent eyes gradually regaining clarity. Looking at Jiang Yunianâs wet eye rims, swollen lips, and that small face written with fear, a trace of remorse flashed in his eyes. Only realizing what he had just done, he let his hand drop, somewhat at a loss. “Ge…”
Just then, the ringtone of the phone in Jiang Yunianâs pocket rang out, covering his call filled with regret.
It was Qian Cheng.
Jiang Yunian immediately pushed him away, turning sideways to answer the phone.
Qian Chengâs exasperated roar came immediately from the other end: “Jiang Yunian! Where the hell did you die off to?! Why are you only answering the phone now?! I’m locked in the toilet! Must be some bastard doing it on purpose! Don’t let me catch him! Hurry up and open the door for me!”
A stream of gibberish poured out, showing the extent of his anger.
Jiang Yunian gave a messy “Okay.”
Hanging up the phone, he glimpsed Qi Yan trying to approach again out of the corner of his eye. He stepped back vigilantly, swept a glance at him, then quickly turned his face away, ordering in a small voice:
“Don’t move.”
Qi Yan indeed stopped in his tracks, standing there, his gaze deep and clingy, glued tightly to him.
He looked at Jiang Yunian, his tone carrying a bit of cautious pleading: “Then can I come find Ge?”
Jiang Yunian knew in his heart that refusing probably wouldn’t be of any use; as long as he wanted to, he would still come to find him. But he still said: “No.”
He didn’t know if Qi Yan listened. He only gave him one last look, a gaze so complicated it made his heart ache. Then, he opened the door and walked out quickly.
Qi Yan stood in place, watching helplessly as his back disappeared through the doorway. It was as if his restless, unbearable heart had been taken away along with him.
He had let him go in the end.
