20. Silver Wolf Uneasy
The moment the sensation of weightlessness hit, Su Tang subconsciously closed her eyes. At this moment, she had only one thought in her heart: Doomed. I pretended too hard in front of Mo Xiao. Now it’s great; not only is it embarrassing, but I might lose my life.
Su Tang squeezed her eyes shut tightly. The anticipated pain didn’t strike. Her waist tightened, and then she was enveloped by a broad chest.
Then, she heard the man seem to click his tongue lightly. Thinking he would blame her, Su Tang simply nestled in the man’s arms, eyes closed, not making a sound. Following that, that large palm patted the top of her head just like that, gently smoothing downwards. The action was just like petting a cat.
“Told you not to be brave.”
The tone was unexpectedly gentle.
“I know.”
The little Guide was buried entirely in his arms, her voice carrying the huskiness of just waking up. Mo Xiao felt the soft touch transmitting from his palm, the corners of his lips curving up, a few light chuckles spilling from his throat.
“By the way, Captain Mo, how did you know I woke up?”
Thinking about it now, Mo Xiao’s timing was a bit too perfect. She had just sat up in bed when he pushed the door open and entered.
“I was guarding outside the whole time, didn’t leave. heard the movement and came in.”
The man’s motion of stroking her head didn’t stop—stroke, stroke, the movement incredibly gentle. Su Tang pursed her lips. He had been guarding outside the whole time; that meant however long she slept, he waited that long.
Turning her eyes to look at the dark sky outside, after such a long time, he must be tired too, right?
“Then, do you want to rest properly?”
“Sure.”
As soon as these words were spoken, Su Tang felt the man’s arms holding her tighten even more. Then, her whole body felt a turbulence. When she opened her eyes again, she found Mo Xiao holding her had lain back onto the bed.
“Captain Mo, what are you doing?”
“Didn’t you say to let me rest properly?”
“Does Captain Mo not have his own bedroom?”
“Very tired, too lazy to move.”
“…”
Holding the fragrant and soft little Guide in his arms, surrounded by the Guide’s scent, Mo Xiao’s nerves relaxed bit by bit. Sensing that the little Guide in his arms still restlessly wanted to move, Mo Xiao lowered his head and imprinted a gentle kiss on top of the woman’s head.
“Be good, listen. There’s a supplement in my jacket pocket. If you’re hungry, take it out and drink it yourself. Now, accompany me to sleep for a while properly, okay?”
Su Tang, who had planned to use hunger as an excuse to leave, lost all pretexts. She froze in the man’s arms because of Mo Xiao’s kissing action just now, daring not move a muscle.
She now had reason to suspect Mo Xiao had premeditated this. She wondered what had been poking her since just now; turns out he had prepared the supplement long ago.
Blame herself for being too naive. Why did she have to run her mouth?
Now great, she became someone’s soothing doll during sleep.
“Alright then, I’ll just keep you company for a little while. Only a little while; I’ve already slept enough.”
“Mn.”
Su Tang reached out, fishing the supplement from Mo Xiao’s pocket. Nestled in the man’s arms, she sucked the liquid in the supplement clean. The emptiness in her stomach was satisfied, and the feeling of spiritual power replenishing bit by bit was extremely comfortable. Su Tang went soft in the man’s arms, slowly closing her eyes. After a while, feeling the breathing of the little Guide in his arms gradually become steady, Mo Xiao couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
Just said she had slept enough and would accompany him for a while; looking at it now, clearly, he was accompanying her to sleep.
Mo Xiao put force into the arm circling the woman’s waist, lifting her up a bit. The fair face immediately floated before his eyes. He had to admit, not mentioning her special spiritual power, just taking her appearance alone, it was enough to make Sentinels chaotic.
Brows and eyes gentle yet naturally carrying a hint of charm, features exquisite and petite to an incredible degree, lip color rosy—the whole was simply a look that would be deeply loved by Sentinels.
He was incomparably rejoicing now—rejoicing that he took that mission, rejoicing that he met her while out, and even more rejoicing that he brought her back.
Mo Xiao’s vision deepened upon touching that patch of red softness. The next second, like an Adam who could no longer endure the temptation, he finally lowered his head and kissed the forbidden fruit.
The lips touched and separated immediately. Mo Xiao placed the little Guide on the soft mattress, lowered his head to look at his abnormal waist area. Really useless.
He got up, tucked the blanket corner for the little Guide, and walked out lightly. In the room opposite, the sound of water drizzled and didn’t stop until the sky outside broke dawn.
…
This sleep didn’t last long for Su Tang. Opening her eyes, the time had already reached 8 AM.
Pushing the door open, she saw the Silver Wolf nested there. Seeing her come out, it walked toward her with aggrieved little steps.
Standing by her feet, it didn’t rub against her or act spoiled like before. Instead, it squatted obediently on the ground, looking up at her just like that, looking exactly like a wronged little cat.
“Oh my, what’s wrong? Was it bullied by someone?”
Su Tang bent down and picked the Silver Wolf up.
The little fellow drilled straight into her arms, whining and acting spoiled.
“Alright, alright, don’t be unhappy.”
It was rare for the Silver Wolf to show such emotions to her for the first time. Su Tang felt some heartache.
A spiritual entity was another self of the Sentinel in the world. The actions of the spiritual entity revealed the Sentinel’s deepest thoughts. The Silver Wolf expressing uneasiness to her like this—did it prove that Mo Xiao was also uneasy deep in his heart?
What was he uneasy about?
Was it because she gave Zhan Ye deep purification?
Su Tang lowered her head and kissed the Silver Wolf gently on top of its head.
“Alright, be good.”
In the First Squad office, Mo Xiao, who was listening to Kelai report on training work, instantly stiffened.
“Captain, what’s wrong? Is there a situation?”
Kelai looked around vigilantly. Could it be that the interior of the White Tower was invaded by alien creatures?
“Nothing. You go out first.”
Kelai exited the office half-doubtingly. Captain Mo’s performance today was very incorrect. He had only seen their Captain Mo look so serious on the battlefield. But he indeed hadn’t detected signs of alien invasion. It seemed their Captain Mo was very concerned about this First Squad outing operation.
Was it because it was the first time the First Squad had a Guide accompanying them?
In the office, Mo Xiao went soft in his reclining chair.
The intense numbness suddenly coming from the top of his head made his body stop tensing uncontrollably. What was she doing to his spiritual entity?
The desire suppressed in the early morning erupted at this moment. Mo Xiao regretted for the first time not installing shower facilities when setting up his office.
