Chapter 147: His Heart Really Ached

“You heard?” Gu Huaiye clenched his teeth, speaking with difficulty. “Why didn’t you mention it all this time?”

And he had even let Gu Huaiye take him to the psychiatrist’s office. This made Gu Huaiye feel extremely guilty.

“I didn’t know how to say it.” Xie Miaohan’s voice was very soft, almost inaudible. “I know I always cause you trouble. If you really want to send me there, I won’t blame you.”

“You haven’t been to school for days. I was worried about you. Did my father cause you to get grounded by your dad?”

“What about him?” Chen Zirui lifted his chin, his gaze landing on Gu Huaiye’s car. “I heard he hasn’t come for many days either.”

Chen Zirui was immediately distracted and sighed. “My brother moved on long ago. He even advised Dad not to be too obsessed with this marriage alliance. It’s just my dad, that stubborn old man, who won’t listen to anything and insisted on running to your house to make a scene.”

“He didn’t do anything to Xialin, did he?”

“I know.”

Back in the car, Xie Miaohan took the initiative to hold Gu Huaiye’s hand.

Gu Huaiye disagreed with Father Gu doing this and almost got into an argument with him once.

It was Xie Miaohan who pressed down on the back of Gu Huaiye’s hand, signaling that it was okay.

This was Gu Huaiye’s father, who had the right to protect Gu Huaiye.

Gu Huaiye sighed and said no more.

That night, Father Gu called Gu Huaiye to the study for a chat.

“I don’t want to bully your boyfriend.” Father Gu sat in his chair, his tone helpless. “You are my son; I’m just afraid you’ll get hurt.”

Catching a glimpse of the white hairs on Father Gu’s head, Gu Huaiye’s attitude softened considerably.

“At least don’t hire so many. One or two is enough. having so many people stare at him, how is that different from locking up a prisoner?”

“I can dismiss some people, but can you promise me you’ll sleep separately?”

“But I need to watch him.”
