Chapter 19: Scum Cat Speech
Xie Qiang spent an hour and a half clearing the mania levels of several B-class Sentinels to zero.
The Sentinels had never felt so refreshed.
The ratio of B-class Guides to B-class Sentinels was 1:100. Usually, it was hard for them to book a purification with a B-class Guide. Even if they did, with good luck, they could only get a maximum of 10% purification.
Many B-class Sentinels had no choice but to go to C-class Guides for micro-purification, taking resources from low-level Sentinels.
So, they hadn’t felt this spirited and motivated feelingālike when they first differentiated into Sentinelsāfor a long time.
“Your Highness, are you really going to start purifying Sentinels from now on?”
The first Green Lion Sentinel to receive purification summoned his courage to ask.
Xie Qiang answered honestly, “I will purify B-class Sentinels for a while. I’m not sure how long exactly; it depends on when I can regain the trust of the A-class Sentinels.”
She lowered her head slightly, revealing a shy and helpless smile. “You should also know that I treated A-class Sentinels harshly in the past and wasn’t very good to them. Now I realize my problem and want to correct it, so I used you a little, hoping to make the A-class Sentinels believe I’ve changed.”
After speaking, Xie Qiang raised her eyes. Her snowy blue eyes carried a hint of nervousness. “But rest assured, I will purify you seriously during this time and absolutely won’t play any tricks!”
The girlās eyes were earnest and eager, with a faint unease. She looked like a kitten who, after tearing up the house, realized the owner was angry and hurriedly lowered its head to admit its mistake, voluntarily picking up the messy yarn ball and putting it back in the basket. The Sentinels simply couldn’t bring themselves to hold any grudge.
They even began to actively find excuses for her.
Her Highness is just too young and went astray for a moment. It’s inevitable. As long as she corrects it later, it’s fine.
They comforted her one after another, “Your Highness is too serious; naturally, we believe you!”
“That’s right, please don’t feel apologetic. Being used by you is our blessing!”
“Rest assured, when we go back, we’ll immediately tell other B-class Sentinels to book your purification!”
“Hey hey hey, don’t call too many, what if we tire out our Highness!”
“Right, right, right, hahaha, look at my brain!”
The last Brown Bear Sentinel scratched his head and laughed naively. Xie Qiang couldn’t help but burst into laughter, her eyes curving beautifully. “Then I thank you all.”
The Sentinels left full of motivation, and the office returned to its usual quietness.
Xie Qiang looked up at Cang Jiu, who had been sulking the whole time.
“Still unhappy?”
She asked softly, poking the youth’s lower back.
“Hmph.” The fox youth, spoiled by favor, turned his back and refused to look at Xie Qiang. “Since Your Highness likes touching their beast ears so much, why not just ask them to release their beast forms for you to touch!”
Xie Qiangās small eyes immediately went round. “Right! Why didn’t I think of that!”
“You!” Cang Jiu choked, turning back to glare at her angrily. “Can’t Your Highness tell I’m being sarcastic?”
“Alright, alright.” Xie Qiang tugged at the corner of his sleeve, diverting his attention. “Didn’t you want a gift of gratitude? Don’t want it anymore?”
“I want it!”
Hearing this, Cang Jiu hurriedly extended both hands, afraid Xie Qiang would regret it and take back the gift in the next second.
“Wait a moment.” Xie Qiang extended her small hands, rubbing them together in a florid display. Finally, like a magic trick, she cupped her hands together into a mound and solemnly placed the gift hidden inside into the youth’s hands.
Cang Jiu looked with full anticipation. The next moment, the smile froze on his face. “The gift Your Highness is giving… is the same pink hair ribbon as before?”
Xie Qiang nodded. She spoke with an air of maturity, “Pink is tender. You just turned eighteen; this color suits you best.”
Cang Jiu: …
I don’t know why, clearly she’s praising my youth, but I feel like she’s mocking me.
“I think the hair ribbon Your Highness gave me before is enough.” Cang Jiu pushed the pink ribbon back. “Your Highness, change the gift.”
Xie Qiang shook her head, offering advice with a serious face. “You can tie pigtails.”
Cang Jiu: …
“Young man,” her tone was heavy, as if she had experienced countless springs and autumns, full of life philosophy, “you must try many things while young. When you get old, many things won’t suit you anymore.”
Cang Jiu: “You just want to see it.”
Xie Qiang: “If you want to think that way, then think that way.”
Cang Jiu: …
What kind of scum girl speech is this?
Clearly, she was extremely sincere and honest with the B-class Sentinels, but with him, she was full of evasion, without a single word of truth.
The young genius Tactical Officer did not yet understand what it meant to exchange sincerity for sincerity. He stuffed the pink hair ribbon into the pocket of his tactical suit, secretly thinking he must find a chance to get revenge.
After all, foxes are naturally vengeful.
After leaving Xie Qiangās office, the heads of the B-class Sentinels huddled together, whispering. Finally, with satisfied smiles on their faces, they returned to their respective units.
During non-combat periods, their peers were conducting daily training on the playground at this time. Some Sentinels who had completed their tasks were sitting on the steps to cool off, complaining that their mania levels had risen again.
“Sigh, I’m really fed up. I booked a purification for over half a month, and there’s still no news.”
“Tell me about it. The Zerg have been active recently, and many Sentinels are on the verge of mania. I heard many B-class Guides gave up their weekends, but even so, they can’t keep up.”
“Sigh, I don’t know whether to feel sorry for them or for ourselves.”
More than a dozen Sentinels sat together, shaking their heads and sighing. Suddenly, a piece of paper fell in front of them.
The nearest Sentinel picked it up and shouted to the clumsy B-class Sentinel passing by, “Hey, brother, you dropped something!”
He glanced at the content on the paper out of the corner of his eye, then his eyes widened. “Holy crap!”
He almost thought he was hallucinating, staring at the paper and shouting, “Mania level 0%? How is this possible?”
“Oh my!” The Green Lion Sentinel stopped, turning to look at the paper in the Sentinel’s hand. “My mania level test result dropped. Thank you.”
“No, wait?” The Sentinel rubbed his eyes vigorously to confirm he wasn’t seeing things, then held up the result sheet and asked in shock, “Is the machine in the testing room broken? Why is your mania level 0?”
“The machine isn’t broken.”
The Green Lion Sentinel blinked innocently. “I just booked an appointment with Her Highness the Princess and did a comprehensive purification.”
The Sentinels: …
The Sentinels: ???
Wait, who? Whose appointment?
That Second Princess known as a perverted tyrant who takes pleasure in torturing A-class Sentinels?
