The Kitty Guide is a Heartthrob: S-Class Sentinels are Addicted to Her Chapter 27

Chapter 27: Is Mo Yin Angry?

When meeting Mo Yin for the first time, Xie Qiang thought that since the villainess had tortured him so much, his heart must be filled with resentment, and he wouldn’t protect her with all his might.

But in this half-month, Mo Yin kept watch until dawn every day, curled up on the sofa to catch up on sleep during the day, and promptly went out to deliver food and pick her up at night.

He didn’t seem to care at all about being tortured and abused in the past.

Is his temper too good, or… traumatic numbness?

Xie Qiang shook her head. It shouldn’t be the latter. He was a powerful S-class Sentinel and came from the Empire’s most famous Vermilion Bird family. How could he have suffered long-term abuse and beatings leading to inhibition and numbness toward pain?

She ate slowly. Beside her, Mo Yin was eating in large mouthfuls rapidly. Although he devoured the food like a wolf, his movements were very elegant.

As his slender, muscular arms rose and fell, the food went straight down his throat without any extra chewing. His slightly protruding Adam’s apple rolled continuously with the swallowing motion. The lines were sharp and carried a bit of sexiness; it was actually exceptionally pleasing to the eye.

Even though his portion was a dozen times Xie Qiangโ€™s, he finished eating before her. After cleaning up his lunch boxes, he sat in the chair and stared straight at the girl eating.

Appetite so small.

No wonder she loses her temper easily.

Seeing Xie Qiang put down her chopsticks, Mo Yin pushed the lunch box, signaling her to continue eating.

Xie Qiang shook her head and pushed the lunch box back. “Not eating anymore.”

Not eating anymore doesn’t equal being full.

Why not eat until full.

She is so weak; she can’t even withstand a round of whipping.

Mo Yin stubbornly pushed the lunch box over again. “Eat.”

“Not eating.” Xie Qiang also pushed the lunch box back very firmly. “It’s not tasty.”

To accommodate the Sentinels’ keen sense of taste, the food in the buffet restaurant was truly average. It was acceptable at first, but over time, even Xie Qiang couldn’t stand it.

So now, she only ate enough to maintain basic bodily functions.

Mo Yin stared silently at the lunch box. A moment later, he packed up all the lunch boxes, turned around without a word, and left.

Xie Qiang was dumbfounded.

Why did he leave suddenly?

Usually, Mo Yin would ask “Go?” first, confirming her nod before escorting her home.

Is he angry?

Why? Because she didn’t finish the rice?

“Mo Yin?”

She called out, trying to stop Mo Yin, but he turned a deaf ear and left the office straight away.

Really angry?

Xie Qiang found it hard to believe. How can someone lose their temper just because someone else didn’t finish their rice?

He’s not her parent. Even her foster father never forced her to eat everything!

Xie Qiang sat in the office for a while, but Mo Yin didn’t return. Finally, she stood up and decided to walk home herself.

Looks like I misunderstood. None of the Sentinels here are emotionally stable.

It’s just that Mo Yin doesn’t like to talk, so he appeared more normal than others. In reality, he is also an emotionally volatile man!

Returning home, Xie Qiang changed into a soft, fluffy white nightgown and climbed into the big bed.

Usually, after Mo Yin sent her home, he would scan all the rooms first to confirm there was no danger before standing at the bedroom door to start the night watch.

In just half a month, Xie Qiang had gotten somewhat used to this fixed process. Missing this step today, she felt an emptiness in her heart.

She sat on the bed, flipping through “History of the Star Ocean Empire” while looking at the electronic clock in the room. Only when the screen showed 11:00 did she finally close the book, looking worriedly at the door.

Why hasn’t he come back yet? Did something happen?

Thinking of something, Xie Qiang couldn’t help shaking her head with a laugh. “He is an S-class Sentinel. Compared to him, it’s easier for something to happen to me, right?”

In the novel, the villainess was simply a magnet for disasters, either missing an arm or breaking a leg.

“He’s probably angry and went back to his own home.” Xie Qiang put down the book helplessly. “Forget it, I’ll lock the door and sleep.”

She got out of bed, her small white feet stepping on the warm floor, and walked gently toward the bedroom door.

Just as she reached out to lock the door, she suddenly heard the sound of the main door outside opening. Her eyes lit up slightly, and she opened the bedroom door and ran out. “Mo Yin, are you back?”

She ran toward the main door with anticipation, wanting to ask where he went, but suddenly stopped.

Looking at the person walking in from the door, Xie Qiang stepped back in panic.

It wasn’t Mo Yin.

The person was wrapped entirely in a black robe, even their face covered. Seeing Xie Qiang, the black-robed person paused slightly, then rushed toward her. “Hahahaโ€”go to die!”

Xie Qiangโ€™s legs went soft, and she turned to run.

It’s an assassin!

Cang Jiu guessed right, there really is still an assassin!

Xie Qiang ran desperately toward the bedroom.

There’s a gun under the pillow; I have to get the gun!

But how could the physique of a mere ordinary person compare to a Sentinel who ran on the battlefield all year round? In a few steps, she was caught up by the other party. Sharp claws grabbed at Xie Qiangโ€™s neck like a ghost hand!

“Ah!”

Xie Qiang was too scared, so her legs gave way, and she fell directly to the ground, which coincidentally helped her dodge the fatal blow just now.

Seeing Xie Qiang trying hard to crawl away for her life even after falling, the black-robed assassin sneered, bending down to grab her ankle. “Your Highness, don’t struggle. Do you think you can escape the pursuit of an A-class Sentinel?”

These Guides, clearly with physiques weak as death, do whatever they want just because they can purify Sentinels.

Why?

Why can Guides hide behind and enjoy glory and wealth, while Sentinels like them have to risk their lives on the battlefield and come back to carefully curry favor with these Guides?

The First Prince was right; this world should change!

“Go to dieโ€”Princess! You will become the sacrifice for us to build a new world!”

The black-robed assassin raised both arms high, clasped hands into a fist, and smashed ruthlessly toward Xie Qiangโ€™s headโ€”

Xie Qiang raised her hand to shield her forehead, her lips trembling violently from fear.

Am I going to die…

I thought this novel world would definitely follow the plot, and assassins wouldn’t appear without the relevant plot in the book. Looks like I was naive again.

Tomorrow… I can’t purify Sen Ji. If I die, he will also eventually die from mania because he can’t get purification.

Sorry, I have to break my promise.

Watching the fist smashing down, Xie Qiang closed her eyes in resignation.

“Ahโ€”!”

A piercing scream rang out. Xie Qiangโ€™s tightly furrowed brows trembled slightly. She couldn’t believe that the hoarse, unpleasant scream just now came from her.

Is my dying scream actually this ugly?

Wait.

I don’t seem to have opened my mouth.

The imagined pain didn’t arrive either. She couldn’t help opening her eyes a slit. What entered her vision was the black-robed assassin stiffly falling to the side. Through his widened eyes, a cold, steep sword pierced through, dripping with bright red blood.

She shrank back in terror. “Ahโ€””

A tall, slender black figure rushed over, kicking the black-robed assassin far away, then lowered his body to block Xie Qiangโ€™s line of sight.

He looked at the girl’s delicate body trembling from fear and reached out to gently hold her arm. “Dead.”

So, don’t shake.

Xie Qiang looked up at Mo Yin, her eyes turning red instantly. Unable to control the emotions in her heart anymore, she raised her hands and hugged the black-clad youth’s waist, crying loudly. “Wuwuwu, where did you go? Why did you only come back now!”

She was really scared, especially scared, scared to death!

Mo Yin looked at the wailing girl, feeling a rare helplessness in his heart. Hesitating, he stuffed the packet of things he was clutching into the girl’s arms.

It was a packet of steaming hot fried dried fish flatbreads.
