Chapter 154: This Son Resembles Him

After the meal, a servant approached Xie Miaohan with a small tray holding pills and water.

“Mr. Xie, it’s time for your medicine.”

Gu Huaiye and Father Gu both looked at Xie Miaohan simultaneously.

Xie Miaohan picked up the pills. Without changing his expression, he went through the motions of taking the medicine, secretly hiding the pills in his pocket.

“Thank you,” Xie Miaohan said to the servant.

Gu Huaiye saw that Father Gu had finished eating but remained seated, understanding that he had something to say. So, he sent Xie Miaohan away.

“Miaomiao, go back to the room and shower first. I’ll come find you in a bit.”

“Okay.”

Once he was gone, Gu Huaiye sighed. “Dad, I know what you want to say. Before Miaomiao gets better, I won’t leave District A.”

“It’s just for half a month,” Father Gu said, seemingly thinking of something, his tone a bit unhappy. “Do you think I’m like those evil fathers-in-law on TV who secretly bully your boyfriend when you’re not around?”
