After the Straight Man Cannon Fodder Was Targeted by the Perverted Crazies Chapter 84 (vol. 1)

Chapter 84: The Cannon Fodder in a Dogblood Novel (84)

Perhaps Li Qiulan sensed something was wrong.

Mo Zeyan had assumed he would return to the manor after eating dinner at the old residence. He didn’t expect him to be a full few hours earlier than anticipated.

He had just returned to the manor, his seat not yet warm, when the manor’s main door was pushed open. Li Qiulan’s figure, wrapped in a chill, barged in.

Seeing Mo Zeyan sitting on the sofa, Li Qiulan’s face sank instantly, looking as if covered in a layer of thin ice. He didn’t even give Mo Zeyan an extra glance, heading straight upstairs, but was called out by Mo Zeyan.

“Qiuqiu, are you preparing to go find Shen Tangqing?”

Li Qiulan looked at him sharply.

Mo Zeyan reached up to push the glasses on his nose, speaking calmly, “I have already sent him away…”

As soon as the words fell, Li Qiulan stood up abruptly from the wheelchair. His voice carried suppressed anger, every word seeming to be squeezed out from between his teeth.

“You let him go?”

“Yes, I let him go.” Mo Zeyan lowered his eyes, his tone laced with admonition. “Qiuqiu, don’t make mistake after mistake.”

Li Qiulan walked quickly toward Mo Zeyan and grabbed his collar. His knuckles turned white from the force, and intense hostility surged in his eyes.

“Mo Zeyan, what right do you have to touch my person?”

Mo Zeyan lifted his eyelids, his gaze locking with his in confrontation. A few seconds later, he raised his hand and pulled Li Qiulan’s hand off his collar. The force wasn’t heavy, but it carried an unquestionable dominance.

“Your person? Qiuqiu, when did he become your person? Locking someone up is—against the law.”

He paused, then added, “Also, I am your uncle. Do you have no basic manners or upbringing?”

“Heh~ Bullsh*t!”

As soon as Mo Zeyan’s voice fell, a sneer of ridicule spilled from Li Qiulan’s mouth. He looked down at Mo Zeyan condescendingly.

“Mo Zeyan, the person you told me you liked last time is actually Shen Tangqing, right?”

Mo Zeyan raised an eyebrow slightly. Being guessed by Li Qiulan wasn’t unexpected; after all, Li Qiulan was indeed very smart.

Seeing Mo Zeyan tacitly admit it, the chill on Li Qiulan’s face deepened.

“Where did you hide him?”

“Hide?” Mo Zeyan hooked his lips, his tone carrying a bit of nonchalance. “I didn’t hide him. I don’t know where he went either. I just… set him free.”

Li Qiulan stared gloomily at Mo Zeyan. The next second, a malicious smile suddenly hooked the corner of his lips. Before Mo Zeyan could react, a fist smashed ruthlessly into his face.

Mo Zeyan hadn’t expected Li Qiulan to attack suddenly, and he took the punch squarely. His body fell back uncontrollably against the sofa.

Li Qiulan stepped forward, kneeling with one leg on the sofa, forcefully squeezing between Mo Zeyan’s legs. His right hand violently choked his neck, fingers tightening abruptly.

Mo Zeyan’s Adam’s apple rolled. His breathing stalled instantly, a strong sense of oppression coming from his throat.

“You don’t know?” Li Qiulan lowered his eyes. His thick eyelashes covered the madness in his eyes, leaving only a shadow. “Mo Zeyan, I’ll give you a chance to tell the truth…”

After speaking, his hand tightened a few degrees more, his tone ruthless. “Don’t try to lie to me. You know that when I go crazy, I don’t recognize family.”

Mo Zeyan’s expression remained very calm, only frowning slightly at the rusty taste spreading in his mouth.

“I really don’t know. I just sent him to the station. As for the rest, I know nothing…”

The two stared at each other calmly. The air seemed to solidify.

After a long time, Li Qiulan released the hand choking Mo Zeyan’s neck. He couldn’t really kill Mo Zeyan. Even if he hated this person, this person was his biological uncle. If he really killed him, that woman might kill him!

Although Li Qiulan didn’t fear death, he had to find Shen Tangqing. Once a person has an attachment, their actions always become restrained.

Li Qiulan straightened up, his face full of ridicule. He wouldn’t believe even a punctuation mark of what Mo Zeyan said. This person was best at pretending to be gentle and harmless.

“Mo Zeyan, you and I are essentially the same kind of person.”

Mo Zeyan slowly tidied the clothes wrinkled by Li Qiulan, his movements elegant and composed.

“Not the same.” The look he gave Li Qiulan really resembled an elder looking at a naughty child. That look disgusted Li Qiulan immensely.

“Qiuqiu, do you know what you look like right now?”

Li Qiulan didn’t reply, only staring at him coldly.

Mo Zeyan didn’t mind. His gaze swept over Li Qiulan’s gloomy face, and he spoke slowly.

“A mad dog. A mad dog that bites onto someone and won’t let go until death. And I… at least have some moral baseline and restraint.”

“Moral baseline?” Li Qiulan seemed to have heard the biggest joke in the world. He looked at that seemingly compassionate gaze of Mo Zeyan and couldn’t help laughing out loud. The laughter was full of cold mockery.

“Mo Zeyan, you’d better have hidden him well!”

After speaking, he slowly walked back to the wheelchair and sat down. He turned his head to glance at Mo Zeyan.

“But you are quite capable. I actually didn’t know the butler was your man.”

Without waiting for Mo Zeyan to reply, and without looking at him again, he went straight upstairs.

Mo Zeyan’s gaze fell on Li Qiulan’s back, his brow slightly raised. By sitting here today, the pawn that was the butler was already useless. He had originally been worried Li Qiulan would do something extreme, so he had the butler keep an eye out. He hadn’t expected him to imprison Shen Tangqing.

If he had no interest in Shen Tangqing, turning a blind eye would have been fine. But there was no helping it—who asked him to take a fancy to this person too?

He could only—snatch the person from his little nephew’s hands.

Li Qiulan entered the room and slammed the door shut violently.

His gaze swept around the room; Shen Tangqing was long gone. The air seemed to retain Shen Tangqing’s scent, yet it dissipated without a trace in an instant.

After a long silence, he stood up from the wheelchair. Step by step, he walked slowly to the bed.

His gaze fell on the still slightly messy bed. After staring fixedly for a few minutes, he got onto the bed and buried his face in the pillow Shen Tangqing had slept on, seemingly feeling the lingering scent.

He inhaled greedily, as if to carve this scent into his bones.

After a long time, he raised his head. His eyes held undissolvable coldness and paranoia. Li Qiulan’s whisper came from the empty room.

“Brother, you’d better not let me find you, otherwise… I will definitely… f*ck you to death!”
