Chapter 155: I Feel the Same Way
Gu Huaiye could sense Xie Miaohan’s unusual excitement. In the end, he was exhausted to the point of collapse and fell asleep directly.
When he woke up in the morning, he saw Xie Miaohan was still awake, lying on his side, staring straight at him.
Gu Huaiye frowned. “Did you sleep last night?”
“Slept for an hour.”
“Only an hour?!” Gu Huaiye exclaimed. “Aren’t you tired?”
Xie Miaohan leaned in and kissed his cheek. “I can catch up on sleep after you go to school.”
In reality, he hadn’t slept all night.
Later on, he did feel sleepy, but he couldn’t bear to close his eyes, terrified that if he slept, Gu Huaiye would disappear when he woke up. He forced himself to stay awake until dawn.
“You can’t stay up all night like that.” Gu Huaiye glared at Xie Miaohan grumpily. “I’m going to take a shower. You hurry up and rest.”
Xie Miaohan grabbed Gu Huaiye’s arm. “I want to have breakfast with you. I’ll sleep after eating.”
Gu Huaiye couldn’t refuse him, so he nodded in agreement.
Father Gu had an early golf appointment with friends and had already left. Only Gu Huaiye and Xie Miaohan were in the dining room.
Xie Miaohan kept staring at Gu Huaiye’s neck, looking like he wanted to say something but stopped himself.
“What is it?” Gu Huaiye put down his cutlery and touched his neck. “Is there something there?”
“I think I kissed too hard.” Xie Miaohan sounded apologetic. “I’m sorry, I should have restrained myself last night. You still have to go to classes; it won’t be good if your classmates see.”
“Just that?” Gu Huaiye smiled indifferently. “If they see, they see. It just shows my wife is amazing. Let them be envious.”
Seeing that Gu Huaiye wasn’t angry, the tension in Xie Miaohan’s muscles instantly relaxed.
In the past, when they first got together, if he kissed too aggressively, Gu Huaiye would get upset, feeling it was embarrassing to go out like that.
Now, things were different.
Gu Huaiye really loved him.
Realizing this, Xie Miaohan began to feel anxious and uneasy again. He hid his fork under the table and stabbed his thigh hard.
There was pain.
It was real…
Excitement and joy quickly filled Xie Miaohan’s entire chest.
With the experience of previous lives, Gu Huaiye knew the final exams like the back of his hand. He didn’t need to review at all, living a more relaxed life than his classmates, barely touching a book.
With less than a week until winter break, Gu Huaiye had already started thinking about where to take Xie Miaohan.
Come to think of it, Xie Miaohan didn’t seem to have traveled abroad much.
In the first life, his mind was on the Gu Group.
In the second, he became a Commander and didn’t have the chance.
And after that, even less so.
If he weren’t worried about Xie Miaohan’s condition, Gu Huaiye would really want to take him around the world.
Forget it, no rush.
He’d take him around the world during their honeymoon.
Recently, Xie Miaohan’s drowsiness had decreased. At first, Gu Huaiye thought it was a side effect of the medicine and planned to ask the doctor.
Seeing he wasn’t sleeping as much, he didn’t ask further.
One afternoon, Gu Huaiye returned to the villa and saw Xie Miaohan arranging flowers.
Xie Miaohan had his back to him. The sunlight from the floor-to-ceiling window shone on him, casting a fragmented, soft glow.
On the patch of skin exposed by his collar, there were two distinct red marks—kisses left by Gu Huaiye the night before.
Gu Huaiye curved his lips, made a “shh” gesture to the servant nearby, then tiptoed up to Xie Miaohan, bent down, and hugged him.
“Miaomiao, I’m back.”
Xie Miaohan’s body trembled. He looked up at Gu Huaiye and said with no temper, “You’re over twenty; why are you still so childish?”
Gu Huaiye gave a cheeky laugh and leaned in to kiss Xie Miaohan’s face.
“Why did you suddenly take up flower arranging? Is it fun?”
“It’s quite interesting. It helps me calm down.”
That way, he wouldn’t feel constantly anxious about Gu Huaiye leaving.
Gu Huaiye sat down beside him, staring at the brilliant flowers.
“Miaomiao, shall we plant wisteria in the courtyard?”
Xie Miaohan looked at Gu Huaiye in astonishment. “Didn’t you dislike wisteria?”
Every time he tried to give wisteria to Gu Huaiye, it was ruthlessly thrown on the ground.
He thought Gu Huaiye hated wisteria from the bottom of his heart, so he hadn’t mentioned it in this life.
“I like it now.” Gu Huaiye said, “No, I should say I liked it long ago; I just didn’t realize it myself.”
“Actually, its flower language is…”
Gu Huaiye interrupted him. “Persistent, deep love.”
Xie Miaohan froze, his voice trembling slightly. “How did you know?”
“I looked it up.” Gu Huaiye held Xie Miaohan’s hand, his gaze earnest. “I feel the same way about you.”
Hearing this, the two servants working in the hall tactfully left.
“So, do you want to plant some?” Gu Huaiye smiled. “In the previous life, when you weren’t there, I planted the courtyard full of wisteria. So I have experience; I won’t kill them.”
“Okay.” Xie Miaohan gripped Gu Huaiye’s hand tightly. “Let’s do it together.”
Two days later, before Gu Huaiye left for school, he said to Xie Miaohan who was seeing him off, “Miaomiao, is there anywhere you want to go?”
Xie Miaohan anxiously grabbed Gu Huaiye’s arm. “You’re sending me away?”
Gu Huaiye stroked Xie Miaohan’s cheek helplessly. “What nonsense are you talking about? I want to take you out to play.”
Xie Miaohan breathed a sigh of relief and slowly shook his head.
“I don’t have anywhere I want to go.”
“Think about it carefully. I’ll ask you again when I come back tonight.”
Gu Huaiye finished his exams today, so he wouldn’t need to go to school anymore. Winter break started immediately, so he could spend proper time with Xie Miaohan.
“Okay.”
After Gu Huaiye left, Xie Miaohan returned to his room and put the secretly hidden pills into the drawer.
Closing the drawer, Xie Miaohan planned to catch up on sleep.
That way, he wouldn’t be sleepy at night and would have plenty of time to be with Gu Huaiye.
Xie Miaohan tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep, staring at the ceiling.
Suddenly, he noticed a flashing red dot.
It was very small, and the light was faint, almost invisible to the naked eye.
Xie Miaohan had been a Commander and had seen plenty of high-tech products. He knew deeply that this was an expensive surveillance camera.
He was actually being monitored in his every move.
Xie Miaohan’s breathing gradually became rapid. To avoid alerting the person watching him, he closed his eyes and quickly analyzed the situation.
The Gu family was so rich; building a mental hospital that looked like the Gu family villa wouldn’t be difficult.
Maybe the time he perceived was fake, and the servants here were fake too.
Gu Huaiye wasn’t going to school either, but coming to visit him regularly.
When Gu Huaiye said this morning he wanted to take him out, maybe it wasn’t for a trip, but because he saw his condition improving and was preparing to take him out of the mental hospital.
Xie Miaohan’s hands trembled violently, his chest heaving.
He sat up abruptly, ran to the cabinet, pulled open the drawer, grabbed all the pills inside, and shoved them all into his mouth.
He had to get better.
Only by getting better and leaving this place would he be qualified to be with Gu Huaiye.
