Chapter 5: FM Collectively Embarrasses Themselves
Several grown men drank and drank until the early hours of the morning. They chatted about everything from esports matches to their hometowns, from hometowns to family situations. In the end, they chatted until they started discussing national politics! No one yielded to anyone; they pulled out their phones saying they wanted people to judge.
Wu Cheng, the only one not drunk, watched them open their phones one by one, pull up Langbo (Weibo), and start posting. He suddenly remembered Chi Jing hadn’t been officially announced yet. He hurriedly tried to grab Chi Jing’s phone, but Chi Jing dodged with a twist of his body.
“Ancestors! Don’t post!”
Wu Cheng roared in despair. The specific notification tone for special follows on Langbo rang out. Pinching his philtrum, he looked at their posts and his vision went black.
FM-Qi Feng: No, you guys judge this for me! Those four are targeting me individually! Insisting that Country M didn’t land on the moon! @FM-Song Qi @FM-Yuan Jibai @FM-Mo Jingchun @-Little Chi Not Awake
FM-Song Qi: Land on what moon! Our mom came back with a layer of skin burned off, why was he perfectly fine! @FM-Qi Feng
FM-Yuan Jibai: No brains, get lost @FM-Qi Feng
FM-Mo Jingchun: A bunch of retards. @FM-Song Qi @-Yuan Jibai @FM-Qi Feng (New member and I excluded)
Little Chi Not Awake: Brainless! If they really landed on the moon, wouldn’t they publicize it massively with their character? I just have one sentence! Country Z is awesome!
Wu Cheng closed his eyes and saw his future. He was already groggy from drinking, so he simply gave up, collapsed on the sofa, and slept.
The other five collapsed beside the sofa, closed their eyes, and slept. When the base cleaning lady arrived the next morning, the sky had fallen. With tears in her eyes, she woke Wu Cheng. Wu Cheng opened his eyes, his head hurting so bad it felt like he saw his great-grandmother whom he had never met. He shot up, then collapsed back down.
Grabbing Song Qi by the ear, he yanked him awake. Sleepy-eyed Song Qi expressed great confusion. When he saw Mo Jingchun and Yuan Jibai sleeping unconscious on the floor, his jaw dropped.
Wu Cheng looked around in panic. “Where are Qi Feng and Little Chi? Where did they run off to?”
Just as Wu Cheng dragged Song Qi to go look for people, Qi Feng leisurely came down from upstairs. Looking at the two of them, he raised an eyebrow and said leisurely, “Oh ho, Brother Cheng, Little Song, good morning. Is the floor comfortable to sleep on?”
Song Qi didn’t respond to his cheap shot, but asked, “Where is Brother Little Chi?”
Qi Feng yawned and raised an eyebrow in reply, “I carried him back to his room to sleep. I woke up with a headache in the middle of the night and saw you guys sleeping all over the floor. The new member is too skinny; I was afraid he wouldn’t sleep comfortably, so I carried him up.”
Song Qi secretly cursed him as a secretly affectionate old man; he was already coveting the new Mid Laner. Qi Feng seemed to understand his gaze. He looked at him, then at Mo Jingchun. Tsk, isn’t it the same for you?
“The new Mid Laner’s Weibo has already exploded. Are we not announcing it yet?” Qi Feng ran downstairs to ask Wu Cheng.
“We definitely can’t hide it anymore. I originally thought we’d announce before the Spring Split started. Drinking really ruins things.” Wu Cheng looked annoyed. Looking at Song Qi, anger came out of nowhere, and he slapped him on the head.
“I shouldn’t have let you guys drink. Everyone holds their liquor so poorly.”
Song Qi looked aggrieved and didn’t make a sound. Indeed, if he hadn’t kept urging them to drink, they wouldn’t have ended up like this. Seeing him like this, Wu Cheng didn’t say more. He waved his hand to let him go upstairs to shower and sleep some more while the cleaning lady tidied up the mess. He shook Mo Jingchun and Yuan Jibai awake and told them to go back to their rooms to sleep.
FM Esports Club Official Blog: Welcome @Little Chi Not Awake (Game ID-Jing) to Team FM. He will serve as our team’s Mid Laner. Everyone, please use your most sincere words to wish us good results next season. We also hope our new Mid Laner can lead the team to create brilliance again.
Once this Weibo post was sent, the comments were overrun within 5 minutes. There were malicious comments, and there were blessings.
“Isn’t this that ungrateful wolf? If not for him, how would Team CK get maliciously reported?”
“Exactly. When he was in Team CK, the Captain treated him so well, and he turned around and reported them. How could Team CK possibly match-fix?”
There were also warm-hearted netizens fighting injustice for him in the comments.
“Please clear your heads. If they didn’t really match-fix, how could the officials give a result banning everyone except him?”
“Are esports fans this brainless nowadays? Are you questioning the officials? The guy boldly pursued what he loves. Is that wrong?”
Quite a few people from other teams also spoke up for Chi Jing.
FIG-Official Blog: “Welcome to your team’s new Mid Laner. We also hope your new Mid Laner can sweep through the brilliance in our region.”
SC-Official Blog: “Welcome new Mid Laner. Your new Mid Laner is really handsome. Quite a handsome young lad. When should our two teams get together for a meal?”
Netizen Spicy Comment: The SC team blog is simply a horny blog. That yellow ‘V’ looks fake.
Of course, Chi Jing, who was in a deep sleep, was completely unaware of all this. He even turned over, smacked his lips, and continued sleeping.
Qi Feng scrolled through his phone. Seeing the malicious comments below, he couldn’t help but frown, but seeing there were still fair netizens seeking justice for him, Qi Feng gave a like with a backhand.
It wasn’t until past 1 PM that the Shooter, Support, Mid, and Top slowly woke up. Chi Jing rubbed his eyes first. Once his eyes adapted to the light outside, he picked up his phone and checked WeChat.
Feng: There’s plain porridge cooked by auntie in the rice cooker downstairs. Come down and eat something when you wake up.
Casually replying “Okay,” Chi Jing rubbed his temples. His head hurt too much, and his body felt sticky. The cleanly young boy used a movement skill straight into the bathroom to shower.
After washing up, he came out wearing only a bath towel. Coincidentally, someone knocked on the door. Chi Jing wrapped himself in a bathrobe and opened the door. Standing motionless outside was strictly Qi Feng. Chi Jing stared blankly for a moment upon seeing him, then asked, “What’s wrong?”
Qi Feng looked at Chi Jing, cheeks flushed from the shower and hair wet. He swallowed unconsciously, his ears burning. He shifted his gaze to hide it before answering, “I saw you replied to the message, but you didn’t come down. Came to ask if you’re hungover and feeling sick from yesterday?”
Chi Jing smiled. “My head hurts a bit. Feeling much better after a shower. I’ll come down in a moment.”
Qi Feng hummed in response and ran downstairs in a panic. It wasn’t until he reached the living room and drank a glass of cold water that he calmed down slightly. Song Qi, looking for gossip, leaned in close and asked, “What happened?”
Qi Feng rolled his eyes. “Drank too much, thirsty. Drinking some water, got a problem?”
Song Qi gave a villainous smile and shook his head to show he didn’t believe it. Qi Feng motioned to throw the water cup at him. Song Qi was so scared he ran out of the living room in a flash, not even leaving exhaust fumes. Qi Feng felt secretly pleased; today was another day of being charmed by himself.
Mo Jingchun watched the two of them fighting like elementary schoolers. He closed his eyes; it was pitch black—that was their future. Qi Feng looked like a high-cold ascetic male god, but in reality, he was a Level 3 disabled person in life.
If he wanted to care for someone, he didn’t even mix a cup of honey water to bring up. Truly a fool. Another day of breaking defenses.
