Esports: The Scheming Jungler Tempts the Mid Laner chapter 13

Chapter 13: Personal Interview

As soon as they arrived at the base, Qi Feng and Chi Jing got busy. Just as Qi Feng was torn about whose room would be best for the cat, Chi Jing spoke up: “Let’s put the cat in your room, shall we?”

This fit Qi Feng’s intentions perfectly. This way, Chi Jing could come to find him every day. It was delightful!

Although he thought this, he pretended to be reserved on the surface. “Don’t you like cats a lot? Why put it in my place?”

Chi Jing tilted his head and looked at him. “I have a bit of rhinitis. Can we keep it at your place? Sorry to trouble you. If it doesn’t work, I can take it away.”

Qi Feng was eager to have the cat in his room, so he didn’t decline further and agreed directly.

“Go try on the team uniform?”

Chi Jing nodded in agreement. After settling the cat, he returned to his room to change clothes.

When Chi Jing came downstairs changed into the team uniform, the eyes of the other four lit up. The simple black windbreaker contrasted with white, creating a trendy men’s style that showed novelty in every detail. It was concise and capable without losing a sense of gorgeousness; the wildness in his blood was matched with a strong style.

His slender body and fit physique were truly a feast for the eyes. Dressed, he looked slim; undressed, he had muscle—wasn’t that exactly how it was? Looking at the seemingly thin Chi Jing, he lacked none of the strength and muscle a man should have. Only Qi Feng knew how sexy those just-right lean muscles were; the image of Chi Jing just out of the bath that night unconsciously floated into his mind.

Chi Jing felt creeped out by their staring and asked, “What’s wrong? Does it look bad?”

Song Qi was the first to answer, “How could it look bad? It looks too good. You’ll definitely charm thousands of young girls when you go out like this.”

Qi Feng hooked the corner of his mouth and said, “Isn’t that right? Look at this face and figure, tsk tsk tsk.”

Song Qi realized he might have misspoken and shut his mouth. Mo Jingchun handed him a glass of fresh milk to drink.

“When did you make this?”

Song Qi took the milk, his eyes shining.

Mo Jingchun felt unnatural under his gaze. He lowered his eyes and replied, “I heated it up for you, but it was a bit too hot, so I let it sit for a while before bringing it to you.”

Yuan Jibai, sandwiched between the four of them, felt he was about to become a dead man. Why were they all gay? Because he was kind!

Qi Feng stared at Chi Jing’s waist—lean and full of power. He wanted to hold it. He clenched his hand into a fist and coughed lightly against his lips. As a cover, he said he needed to take a shower and went upstairs. A trace of a smile flashed in Mo Jingchun’s eyes.

Qi Feng ran upstairs like he was flying. In the dead of winter, he took a slightly cold shower to finally wash away that heat. Wearing only a bath towel around his waist, he heard a knock on the door. He wiped his hair and opened the door. It was Chi Jing.

The man’s short, clean hair was only half-dried. A hazy mist lingered behind him, and his upper body was naked, without a stitch of clothing. Chi Jing only saw the man wearing a gray bath towel. His upper body was strong and powerful, with eight abdominal muscles arranged neatly. His V-line was sexy, distinct, and faintly visible. Crystal-clear water droplets were flowing down his wheat-colored skin. This scene was incredibly impactful.

Startled, Chi Jing hurriedly turned around, only to hear Qi Feng say teasingly, “What are you shy about? Didn’t I see yours too? Let’s consider us even.”

Chi Jing stammered that Wu Cheng was calling him, then fled back to his room in a panic, leaving Qi Feng with only a gust of wind.

Mo Jingchun came upstairs just in time to see this scene. Arms crossed, he leaned against the stairway entrance, watching Qi Feng spreading his tail like a peacock. Qi Feng saw him and raised an eyebrow slightly, his eyes seemingly full of teasing and mockery.

“How’s your progress?”

Mo Jingchun ignored him completely and turned to go back to his room. Qi Feng touched his nose, closed the door, went back inside to put on clothes, checked the cat nest, then hugged the cat and knocked on Chi Jing’s door.

As soon as Chi Jing opened the door, his kitten came into view. Qi Feng handed the cat to him. The cuffs of his sleeves were slightly rolled up, revealing veins that exuded a wild desire. Noticing Chi Jing’s gaze was dodging a bit, Qi Feng achieved his goal and went directly downstairs, his whole body radiating a闷騷 (men shao – outwardly cold, inwardly passionate/showy) aura.

Wu Cheng calling him to the conference room was actually to have him accompany Chi Jing to the exclusive interview. After all, Chi Jing had never participated in this kind of program before, and there were many doubts about Chi Jing from the outside world. He was afraid the interviewer would stir up trouble, so he asked Qi Feng to go and hold the fort. Qi Feng was naturally very willing and agreed without any hesitation.

Leaving the conference room, only Song Qi was in the living room. Mo Jingchun had just returned to his room. Chi Jing should be in his room playing with the cat. Yuan Jibai went back to catch up on sleep. Qi Feng didn’t pay much attention and went back to catch up on sleep as well. When he woke up again, it was already past 1 PM. He knocked on the door, but Chi Jing didn’t respond. The door wasn’t locked, so he pushed it open and entered, only to find Chi Jing asleep holding the cat. He patted Chi Jing’s back gently and called him softly.

“Come down and eat something. We have to leave soon.”

Chi Jing opened his eyes in confusion. In front of him was a magnified version of Qi Feng’s face. He rubbed his eyes and sat up. He hadn’t taken off his team uniform; he could just put on a jacket when they went out later. He washed his face, grabbed his jacket, and went downstairs with Qi Feng to eat.

The five of them tidied up and got directly into the business van. Only Wu Cheng accompanied them this time, so the van was just the right size.

“This time, the main task is to shoot your event covers. Shooter and Support as a group, then Shooter and Jungler as a group. Jungler and Mid as a group, Jungler and Top as a group. Support shoots with everyone. Then Mid and Shooter as a group.”

Song Qi grinned so hard his teeth showed. He could take five photos alone, plus the solo and group ones—that made seven. This event was great!

During the shoot, however, he couldn’t smile anymore. A set of photos was retaken repeatedly, and he had to have his makeup touched up in the middle. He glanced resentfully at Chi Jing and Qi Feng. Because those two were good-looking, they only had their eyebrows and inner eyeliner done, not even foundation. Why did he have to have so much stuff plastered on his face? His face seemed to have words written on it:

Mute the world and listen to the sound of my mental breakdown.

When it was his and Mo Jingchun’s turn to shoot, the photographer asked them to face each other. Mo Jingchun placed his hand on Song Qi’s head. Song Qi smiled, and the photographer captured it perfectly in one take. Qi Feng and Chi Jing stood back-to-back with arms crossed, as if saying, I entrust my back to you.

After Qi Feng and Chi Jing finished shooting, they went directly to another room to begin the interview. Upon entering, they first greeted the host and the camera, then took their seats, waiting for the host’s questions.

“Today we are honored to have invited God Feng and JING. I have a question here for God Feng: How has the synergy been with the new member since he joined the team?”

Qi Feng smiled, looked at Chi Jing, and replied, “The synergy is excellent. He is a very humble and steady player. His playstyle can be both offensive and defensive, which is a very good characteristic. I am very honored to be teammates with him.”

The host smiled and continued to ask, “Then, did any interesting things happen when the new member joined the team?”

Chi Jing thought for a moment and replied, ” The team’s Support is very noisy, but he makes me feel very warm, like a little sun. Lord Captain is also very considerate of his teammates and very easy to talk to.”

The host asked a few more routine questions. When it came to the last question, Chi Jing fell into deep thought for a moment.

“I know this question might be a bit presumptuous to you, but many netizens are still curious about Team CK. With what kind of mindset did you report them to the King of Glory management at that time?”

Qi Feng frowned slightly and was just about to speak up when Chi Jing pressed him back.

“I feel that the profession I love shouldn’t be like that. The foul atmosphere and match-fixing—these two things made me feel very disappointed and broken. Time and time again, I doubted whether my choice of this profession was right or wrong. I even suspected at one point if it would have been more stable to obediently be a streamer if I hadn’t gone pro? At least I could still pursue my dream.”

Chi Jing paused, then continued:

“But later, I felt that my dream shouldn’t be tarnished by such people. Perhaps they couldn’t help themselves regarding match-fixing, but whether as a teammate or a bystander, I cannot understand them. Isn’t choosing this profession because of passion? Which KPL pro player doesn’t come to play esports with talent and a dream? Who doesn’t want to win the championship? Who isn’t here because of love?”

Chi Jing took a deep breath and added:

“If the atmosphere of the KPL arena becomes increasingly capitalistic because of their actions, then I think this profession will be meaningless. The spirit of sports and esports should be full of hot blood and struggle, not whatever that was. I have never regretted reporting the CK team management and team personnel. Of course, I also have a clear conscience. You all know what the internal atmosphere of Team CK was like without me saying it. Regarding this matter, no matter how netizens evaluate it—whether calling me an ungrateful wolf or a dog that can’t be fed—I do not regret it.”

After finishing, he stood up and pulled Qi Feng away. Qi Feng saw that his eyes were slightly red, and his frown deepened involuntarily.
