Chapter 139: “Madam, if you keep this up, I won’t be able to hold back.”
Shen Zhuo pushed back with a completely red face, but Du Feng actually didn’t have any other thoughts.
He wasn’t trying to flirt or play around.
He really just wanted to examine him.
“No!”
Shen Zhuo couldn’t match Du Feng’s strength. Seeing the man’s distinct, bony fingers about to open the flower petals, he couldn’t care about anything else.
With a burst of his [Mind Control] ability, Du Feng froze uncontrollably, maintaining his kneeling posture on the bed.
Shen Zhuo quickly escaped from under him, wrapped his clothes tight, and stared at the man’s frozen form.
Du Feng’s limbs were uncontrolled, but he blinked.
“Madam…?”
“I don’t want you to look!”
The little Omega seemed to be angry. With a hint of petulance in his voice, he hugged a pillow, slipped on his slippers, and went to another room.
The duration of [Mind Control] was much longer now than the first time, lasting about an hour.
And Shen Zhuo didn’t issue any other commands.
So the man knelt on the bed for nearly an hour.
During this time, Shen Zhuo ran to the next room and curled up on the sofa to scroll through his phone. He wasn’t actually annoyed; he just wanted an excuse to refuse excessive intimacy with Du Feng.
An, who was on standby outside, heard movement in the living room and knocked on the door: “Master, Madam?”
Shen Zhuo poked his head out from the pillow: “An, come in.”
An opened the door quietly. He saw the bedroom door was open but couldn’t see what was happening inside.
So he walked quickly to the boy: “Do you have any instructions, Madam?”
Although everyone outside called Shen Zhuo “Your Majesty” or “Your Highness,” An had never changed his address.
Shen Zhuo was the Empire’s Queen, but he was just the Madam of Bai Meng.
As Bai Meng’s butler, there was no Emperor or Queen in his eyes.
Only the Master and the Madam.
Shen Zhuo beckoned, and An walked up to the boy, bending down to lend an ear.
Shen Zhuo’s voice was very soft:
“Help me find a few nice gift boxes, and ribbons and such, similar to a birthday surprise.”
An was a bit puzzled.
Speaking of which, neither the Madam’s nor the Master’s birthdays had passed yet. There were too many matters in the new Empire, so all holidays had been pushed back.
Now that the Madam mentioned a birthday surprise, was he going to celebrate the Master’s birthday?
That didn’t feel right either.
“Does Madam need anything else? I can prepare them first.”
Shen Zhuo raised his eyes to glance at the room, his voice dropping even lower, almost to a whisper.
An simply knelt on one knee on the floor, allowing Shen Zhuo, sitting on the sofa, to lean down closer to his ear.
“Buy a… pregnancy test stick.” The tips of Shen Zhuo’s ears were a bit red. “The ones in the Royal Palace were used up before.”
At first, An didn’t think in that direction.
He actually knew a bit about the Master and Madam wanting a child recently.
So the butler nodded immediately. “Buy a box?”
“One is enough.” Shen Zhuo hurriedly interrupted him. “What would I do with a box!”
An turned his head, his eyes meeting the boy’s.
The two were silent for a moment.
The always composed and calm butler widened his eyes, his glasses falling off.
The butler caught them in a flurry, blinked several times, his expression blank for a second.
“Madam, are you…?!!”
Shen Zhuo hadn’t expected An to figure it out so quickly. He placed a finger against his lips, forcefully but quietly shushing him several times, pointing to the bedroom and waving his hand.
An hurriedly straightened his rumpled suit, cleared his throat, and knelt before Shen Zhuo again, his eyes unable to hide his excitement:
“Is it…?”
Shen Zhuo nodded gently. “I want to give Du Feng a surprise.”
An: “!!”
This was the first child.
An instantly thought of several ways to celebrate, but he held back, restraining himself until his hands trembled:
“Good, good, we must keep it from the Master.”
Shen Zhuo was very reassured entrusting the surprise materials to An.
Aside from losing composure in front of Xia Dou, their butler was almost always calm and reliable.
Shen Zhuo thought for a moment and decided to tell Shen Xuyin and Jiang Yuening the news first.
[Shen Zhuo: Papa.]
Less than two seconds later, a reply came.
[Jiang Yuening: What is it, my baby?]
[Shen Zhuo: What are you guys doing? You haven’t come home recently. Are you and Father okay?]
[Jiang Yuening: We’re all good. Your old man went to a meeting at the military. I’m at an antique auction right now. Does Baby have something to tell Papa?]
Shen Zhuo’s typing fingers paused.
It seemed Shen Xuyin had made Jiang Yuening angry again.
They had been like this since he was small.
Whenever Jiang Yuening got angry, he would inevitably go to an auction to buy a couple of antiques to bring home—paid for by Shen Xuyin, of course.
Moreover, this form of address… it was the first time.
Shen Zhuo couldn’t help but smile.
These two had been sweetly bickering for over twenty years.
Would he and Du Feng be this happy in the future too?
Inevitably fantasizing for a moment, Shen Zhuo curled the corners of his mouth and typed a line.
[Dad, I’m pregnant.]
After sending this sentence, silence suddenly fell on Jiang Yuening’s end.
There was no reply for several minutes.
Just as Shen Zhuo wanted to ask if he hadn’t received the message, a video call popped up on the screen.
Shen Zhuo glanced nervously at the bedroom. Finding no movement, he stepped onto the balcony in his plush slippers, closed the door, and only clicked to accept the video after ensuring it was soundproof.
The screen showed the outdoors. Jiang Yuening had a flush on his face from running and was panting slightly; the collar of his fitted coat was messed up.
“Baby… is it true?!”
Shen Zhuo laughed. “It’s true.”
Jiang Yuening beamed with joy, his eyes and brows flying with high spirits, but soon his expression fell as he asked worriedly:
“How is it? Do you feel uncomfortable?”
“My baby’s rank is so high; it must be harder than when I was pregnant with you, right?”
Jiang Yuening was always as gentle as a spring.
When he was young, he was famous in the military for the strong contrast between his usual personality and his sharp skills on the battlefield.
After retiring and no longer touching weapons, he settled down, his temperament elegant with a hint of warmth.
It was fine when he wasn’t asked, but once asked with such distressed concern, Shen Zhuo’s nose tingled a bit.
“I’m fine. Du Feng gave me plenty of pheromones, so it’s not too uncomfortable.”
Only then did Jiang Yuening relax. “That’s good. I’ll tell your dad when I get back tonight. He’ll definitely be happy for a long time.”
When the Omega looked down and smiled, he was very charming, exuding a reserved yet overflowing sense of happiness.
“Papa.” Shen Zhuo looked at Jiang Yuening’s happy appearance on the screen and reminded him:
“I haven’t told Du Feng yet. I’m planning to give him a surprise.”
Jiang Yuening naturally understood and made a gesture of protecting a small secret. “Then hurry back. Calling for too long makes it easy to be suspected. We’ll come to see you guys in a few days.”
“Okay.” Shen Zhuo waved his hand and said goodbye to Jiang Yuening.
After hanging up, Shen Zhuo took a deep breath of fresh air.
In the night sky outside the balcony, stars twinkled in the Milky Way; the sky was a very deep blue-violet.
After staying on the balcony a while longer, Shen Zhuo suddenly remembered something.
He hadn’t deactivated his ability!
No wonder Du Feng hadn’t come out of the bedroom.
The boy immediately pushed open the balcony door and headed straight for the bedroom. He saw the man still maintaining the posture from when he broke free, kneeling on the bed with both knees.
Hearing the movement at the door, Du Feng sounded aggrieved, yet he couldn’t even turn his head:
“Wife…”
Shen Zhuo intended to withdraw his ability, but realizing Du Feng really couldn’t move, he suddenly had a different idea.
The boy got onto the bed in front of the man and stepped directly on him with his bare feet.
Du Feng let out a muffled groan, his gaze looking at Shen Zhuo deepening a few shades: “Madam, if you keep this up, I won’t be able to hold back.”
Shen Zhuo rubbed his toes left and right, feeling the scorching heat under his foot grow larger, and stomped down hard.
“You made me angry just now. This is punishment.”
Du Feng inhaled sharply, his voice softening: “I was wrong, Wife.”
If he made his wife angry, whether he was wrong or not, no matter what he did, he was wrong.
Shen Zhuo had originally just been looking for an excuse to avoid deeper contact, and in the end, he didn’t dare to be too presumptuous now either.
With the ability withdrawn, Du Feng regained control of his body. Like a scolded big dog, he stared eagerly at Shen Zhuo burrowing into the blankets.
He didn’t say he was aggrieved, but everything he showed screamed pitiful.
Shen Zhuo ultimately softened his heart.
“You can kiss.”
If he had tangible ears and tail, one could probably clearly see the Alpha’s ears go from drooping to perking up instantly, his eyes lighting up as well.
The tail behind him was probably wagging non-stop.
Stepping forward to kiss the boy’s cheek, Du Feng returned to the previous question: “Do we really not need a doctor to take a look?”
Shen Zhuo opened his mouth and bit Du Feng’s nose directly, saying fiercely: “No doctor!”
“Okay, okay, no doctor.”
Du Feng was simply dying from the cuteness of the boy’s little actions.
Du Feng also got under the covers, raising the concentration of soothing pheromones in the air to the most abundant level.
Shen Zhuo’s body relaxed completely. Leaning in Du Feng’s arms, he watched the man turn on the movie he had mentioned once a few days ago.
Du Feng’s attentiveness often made Shen Zhuo feel indebted.
All along, it was Du Feng satisfying all his little requests, while he seemed to have never done anything for Du Feng.
He didn’t know if it was pregnancy making him overthink, but Shen Zhuo felt he was more sentimental than before.
Shen Zhuo didn’t know when he fell asleep.
When he opened his eyes again, Du Feng was no longer in the bedroom.
And in front of him stood a person he hadn’t expected.
Nain Tute.
It was the little prince of the Kingdom of Nain, who had once spoken rudely and been imprisoned in military jail by him and Du Feng as a warning to others.
He had probably escaped while being repatriated after the trial concluded.
Shen Zhuo calmly sat up and draped his coat over himself.
Nain Tute had been approaching Shen Zhuo, not expecting the boy to wake up midway.
Before the sharp weapon in his hand could be hidden in his sleeve, a look of awkward murderous intent appeared on Nain Tute’s face.
Shen Zhuo didn’t understand why this person was so stupid.
Du Feng had clearly decided to spare his life.
“You…” Shen Zhuo piled the quilt over his stomach, subconsciously making a protective gesture, and was just about to speak.
Nain Tute suddenly raised the knife and stabbed toward him.
In Nain Tute’s eyes, he was agile and courageous, daring to struggle against villains and tyrants like the Empire’s Queen.
But in Shen Zhuo’s eyes, it was no different from a farce.
Nain Tute didn’t even see Shen Zhuo make any move. Before the tip of the knife could cross the edge of the bed, his entire body knelt straight down.
The high-ranking oppressive force of Epiphyllum pheromones surged through the air.
The invisible force turned Nain Tute’s face instantly pale.
Shen Zhuo rested his fingers on his lower abdomen, leaning lazily against the headboard. He lifted his eyes indifferently to meet Nain Tute’s disbelieving gaze:
“To kill me? You aren’t worthy.”
