Chapter 43: Chi Wan, Give Me a Reason
Shen Xingyun put away his teasing and nodded seriously:

“You always like to go ‘beep beep’ (dudu), how about I call you Dudu?”

The little robot froze for two seconds before realizing Chi Wan had given it a name.
It instantly became incredibly happy:

One person and one machine walked toward Building 031.
“Sister Chi Wan, remember to charge Dudu!”
Dudu said, displaying its battery level on the screen—only one bar left.
“Okay.”
Seeing Chi Wan agree to charge it, the wheels under Dudu retracted, replaced by jet devices. It rose into the air and spun happily.
Chi Wan smiled and shook her head, reminding it to be careful while walking up the steps.
Dudu was so happy it forgot itself. After flying with Chi Wan for a while, it started spinning again.
Spinning while shouting:
“So happy, so happy!”
“Dudu—”
“Dudu has a name, Dudu—”
However, the smile on Chi Wan’s face froze.
At the corner of the stairs, a tall figure stood. Qi Ye, wearing a fitted combat uniform that outlined his waist, leaned against the wall, his brilliance restrained.
The moment he saw her, he straightened up and walked toward her. Backlit, his expression was unclear, but his slightly hoarse and tired voice told Chi Wan he had probably waited a long time:
“It’s really hard to see you.”
Chi Wan felt she must be tired from work, actually feeling a hint of grievance in his words.
Just as she was about to find some words to brush him off, she heard a very loud BANG!!!
Chi Wan turned back in shock.
Because it spun too fast, the little robot Dudu hit the corner handrail and smashed onto the ground.

A bewitching, mature female voice came from below. Kui An, wearing a cheongsam, walked up elegantly.
Her exquisite, charming eyes swept over Chi Wan and Qi Ye, a smile on her lips:
“Leave this little robot to me. You two continue~”
Saying this, without waiting for Chi Wan to speak, she picked up Dudu by the handle behind its head and left.
Chi Wan watched Kui An’s back, unable to ignore the approaching footsteps behind her.

Qi Ye approached leisurely, pacing it just right to corner her against the wall.
His tall figure overshadowed her, his voice hoarse:

Chi Wan lowered her head to avoid his mind-reading and just shook her head.
Her thick, long silver curly hair almost wrapped her small face. Under the shadow, she looked obedient and heartbreaking.
Qi Ye’s tight lips moved, almost like a sigh:
“Then you just hate me.”
Chi Wan didn’t shake her head this time.
She didn’t hate him, nor did she hold a grudge for him blocking her. She just didn’t want to have contact with these male leads anymore.
She had an ability now, and the Space-element ability orb would be delivered to the Alliance in a few days. She had the confidence to walk another path.
Seeing her just lowering her eyes and staying silent, seemingly acquiescing, Qi Ye lowered his eyelids slightly, suppressing the unhappiness in his heart. His voice became gentler, almost coaxing:
“Blocking you was my fault. I disappointed you. I can make it up to you.”
Chi Wan shook her head: “I don’t want compensation.”
She turned her head away, quite stubborn:
“I just want to stay far away from you.”
“So is this why you refused ten boxes of Ion Blaster Guns rather than seeing me?”
Chi Wan looked up at him.
What Ion Blaster Guns?
Her nominal dad only asked if she wanted to see him, not mentioning any guns at all.
But instantly remembering he could read minds, she quickly lowered her head to avoid his gaze.
“Chi Wan.”
He took a step closer, the tip of his shoe almost touching hers, drawing the distance between them even closer.
“Give me a reason.”
As he spoke, his voice deepened:
“Why won’t you even give me a chance to apologize and make amends?”
