Mr. Shen’s Sick Obsession Chapter 4

Chapter 4: Why Not Yield to Him?

Shen Xingyu was dead set on not letting him stay.

“Mom!”

Watching his mother on the hospital bed get further and further away, Liang Sheng finally couldn’t hold back and cried out loudly.

He desperately reached out toward his mother, hoping to be held by her hand just like when he was a child, but today, many years later, he could never grasp it again.

His mother was dead.

No one would knit sweaters for him anymore, no one would remember what he liked to eat, and no one would make wontons for him…

Beside him came wave after wave of suppressed sobbing, but Shen Xingyu turned a deaf ear to it. He just kept walking out without stopping, his mind entirely filled with scenes of being tormented by his father’s mistress twenty years ago.

The knuckles of the fingers gripping Liang Sheng’s slender wrist turned white, pinching bloody marks into his fair skin.

Liang Sheng grunted in pain, forcefully twisting his arm, and begged humbly: “I beg you, A-Yu. I’m begging you, let me stay and hold a vigil for Mom, okay? I don’t want anything else, I just want to accompany Mom for the last stretch of her journey…”

“If I miss Mom’s funeral, I will suffer and blame myself for the rest of my life. A-Yu, please…”

His tone was pitiful to the extreme, and he shed tears countless times. His heart was so filled with despair that he had lost even the last bit of hope. The only thing he could do now was to beg Shen Xingyu, pleading that for the sake of their marriage, he would let him go to attend to his mother’s final moments.

Shen Xingyu looked at him out of the corner of his eye. Those silent eyes were exceptionally cold. He merely glanced at his teary face, then apathetically looked away, saying in annoyance:

“Then suffer for the rest of your life! Dead is dead, what’s the point of doing more? Instead of wasting time on this, you might as well go back and take care of my grandfather.”

This sentence was like a knife plunging into Liang Sheng’s heart, blood flowing like a river, causing agonizing pain.

“Dead… is dead…”

He repeated choked with sobs, unable to stop his tears. He didn’t expect that after toiling selflessly for the Shen family for seven years, meticulously taking care of his husband’s daily life, the death of his own relative would only earn a comment of ‘pointless’ from the other party.

Liang Sheng stared blankly at his husband’s consistently cold face. It seemed something was silently shattering in his eyes.

Then, he suddenly lowered his head. As if gathering a great deal of courage, he opened his mouth and bit down on the hand Shen Xingyu was using to hold him.

Shen Xingyu felt the pain and grunted. Subconsciously throwing him off, he looked down and saw a row of bloody teeth marks where he was bitten.

“Liang Sheng, what are you doing?!”

He glared at Liang Sheng in disbelief. Amidst his anger, there was also a fleeting, subtle hint of sadness.

Liang Sheng never dared to treat him this way. Usually, he was terrified of him getting hurt, but now… he took the initiative to bite him?

Seeing the man’s furious appearance and the bloody hole he had bitten into him, Liang Sheng couldn’t help but feel a bit panicked and guilty. He hadn’t meant to bite so hard just now…

He swallowed hard. Thinking of his mother who was still waiting for him, he said with a trembling voice, “I’m sorry. I have to go back. Once I finish handling things on Grandfather’s side, I’ll go over and take care of him.”

Seeing him turn around to leave, Shen Xingyu’s anger could no longer be suppressed.

“Stop him.”

Covering his bleeding hand, he spoke lightly.

Qin Lou immediately stepped forward and blocked Liang Sheng, who hadn’t taken more than a few steps.

“Get out of the way!”

Liang Sheng was about to cry from anger.

Qin Lou was also an unfeeling person. Without another word, he immobilized both of his hands and dragged him outside.

“Let go of me! Let go! I want to be with my mom! Sob sob sob!”

Liang Sheng cried until he was out of breath. He struggled desperately, but unfortunately, his strength was too little to break free from Qin Lou’s control.

As if he couldn’t hear his cries, Shen Xingyu tilted his head slightly and stared at the bloody marks on the back of his hand. The glaring red color stirred up a cold, manic sensation in the calm depths of his eyes.

Outside the hospital, heavy rain had begun to fall at some unknown point.

Pedestrians hurried by, and the winter wind was biting cold.

A bodyguard held an umbrella for Shen Xingyu.

He had a slender figure, standing tall like a pine tree. His leather boots stepped through the ripples, walking slowly in the rain, his black coat creating continuous ripples on the water’s surface.

Just as Qin Lou was about to shove Liang Sheng into the car, Shen Xingyu suddenly spoke up to stop him: “Wait.”

Liang Sheng had no umbrella and was drenched completely.

Upon hearing the man’s voice, he seemed to ignite a sliver of hope, thinking the other party had figured things out and was willing to let him go back to hold a vigil for his mother.

Shen Xingyu stood in front of him. A few cold raindrops clung to his slightly furrowed brows. He asked casually:

“I am a person who doesn’t like forcing others to do things they are unwilling to do. So, I’ll give you one more chance to choose: go back and take care of Grandfather, or hold a vigil for your adoptive mother?”

Liang Sheng smiled bitterly. Perhaps in this world, only Shen Xingyu could make coercion sound so high-sounding.

Without any hesitation, his rain-soaked, trembling thin lips replied: “I-I want to go back and hold a vigil for my mom.”

Shen Xingyu was displeased with this answer.

“It seems you are still obstinately clinging to your delusions. What should I do…”

A faint, almost imperceptible smile played on his lips. The arc was perfect, but it didn’t reach his eyes. That smile was like a meticulously carved mask, and beneath the mask was a madness that others couldn’t easily detect.

Liang Sheng’s heart trembled. Even with his eyes blurred by the rain, he could clearly feel the dangerous aura exuding from the man.

That aura terrified him.

Shen Xingyu reached his hand outside the umbrella, allowing the icy drizzle to fall into his palm, and then spoke calmly:

“I think this rain will help you clear your head. It will make you realize who will truly be by your side forever.”

“W-what do you want to do… Ah!”

Before Liang Sheng could finish his sentence, he was shoved into the heavy rain by Qin Lou. He fell into the freezing muddy water, and because he had already tripped earlier, his thighs lacked the strength to let him crawl back up.

Several bodyguards surrounded him tightly.

With the tips of his hair plastered to his face, Liang Sheng couldn’t see his surroundings clearly anymore. He could only slightly tilt his face up, his eyelashes too heavy to lift. For a moment, he couldn’t tell if it was the rain or his tears blurring his eyes.

Soaked to the bone and blown by the wind, the biting cold made him curl up into a ball. Hugging his knees tightly, he lost all his strength in an instant.

Shen Xingyu stood right where he was, making no further move forward. He simply looked at the person in the heavy rain with an unbelievably calm gaze.

He hadn’t wanted to do this, but Liang Sheng was too disobedient. Disobeying him and brushing him off time and time again made him very uncomfortable.

If the other party could just obediently yield to him and properly admit his mistake, he could let bygones be bygones.

But this time, Liang Sheng seemed stubbornly intent on going against him. He stayed in the rain for half an hour without making a single sound.

Shen Xingyu felt a bit flustered.

He refused to believe that this little wife, who had obeyed his every word for years, would turn against him for the sake of his adoptive mother.

What Shen Xingyu didn’t know was that Liang Sheng’s heart had already been left completely riddled with holes from the pain.
