Flash Marriage with My Ex-Boyfriend’s Nemesis chapter 17 PART 4

PART 4

“Because I hate being married,” Gu Youchen said as he stepped into the elevator.

Ning Qingqing thought about her own words that she hated getting married and how this man just said he hated marriage.

He had good looks, a great figure, an excellent family background, and he shouldn’t have any trouble finding a wife.

She was still complaining in her heart when the elevator doors slowly closed. She watched Gu Youchen look at her meaningfully and said, “Qingqing, think about how you want to address me these few days.”

The elevator doors closed in front of Ning Qingqing, and Gu Youchen’s figure had disappeared.

Ning Qingqing wandered back to the room, thinking about Gu Youchen’s last words.

How to address him?

They were still very unfamiliar, except for the few times they had met, and what Shen Zhiqian described about Gu Youchen.

There were no good words for him.

Although Ning Qingqing had her own judgment, she also believed that this man, as Shen Zhiqian’s opponent for many years, could not be without scheming.

She had actually gotten married to him so rashly!

Ning Qingqing grabbed her hair in frustration, already putting the question of how to address him aside.

She returned to the coffee table, picked up her marriage certificate, and looked at it again and again, not knowing how to describe her absurd state of mind.

After taking a shower, Ning Qingqing dried her hair and sat silently in front of the dressing table for a while. Realizing that it was almost time, she changed into her going-out clothes.

She took out her phone and saw Gu Youchen’s driver’s number. Ning Qingqing hesitated before dialing.

Obviously, Gu Youchen had already told him beforehand and given him her number, so as soon as the phone was connected, a young male voice came from the other end: “Mrs. Gu, hello, I’m Mr. Gu’s driver, Xiao He. Are you going out now?”

Ning Qingqing suppressed her unease and said, “Yes, I’m going to Xinghe Square.”

Xiao He immediately said, “Okay, I’ll be at the entrance of your apartment building now. You can just come out.”

Ning Qingqing replied, “Okay, thank you.”

She took her bag and went out. She arrived at Xinghe Square at 6:10 pm.

Xiao He instructed, “Madam, please call me when you’re finished. I’ll be nearby and can come over anytime.”

Ning Qingqing nodded. “Okay, thank you.”

She walked towards the mall, about to send a message, when her shoulder was patted by Qiao Xiaomian. “Dear, who was that little puppy just now?”

Ning Qingqing realized Qiao Xiaomian was referring to the driver, Xiao He.

She was a little helpless. “I just came in his car.”

Looking at her best friend’s appearance, she decided to tell her about her marriage later.

The two of them had been craving that nine-grid hot pot restaurant, so they went straight there.

They found a seat in the hot pot restaurant and ordered their food. The waiter brought them some lemon water.

Ning Qingqing watched Qiao Xiaomian drink the water and swallow before saying, “Mianmian, there’s something I need to tell you.”

Qiao Xiaomian immediately sat up straight. “Don’t tell me you’ve forgiven Shen Zhiqian for his broken appointment yesterday and plan to wait for him again?”

Ning Qingqing shook her head. She had told Qiao Xiaomian last night before going to bed that she was breaking up today, but they hadn’t talked about it in detail yet.

“I broke up with him clearly over the phone today, and I’ve already completed my resignation procedures. I have nothing to do with Shen’s company or Shen Zhiqian anymore.” Ning Qingqing paused here, then continued, “But that’s not what I want to talk about.”

“Whoa,” Qiao Xiaomian hugged her water glass as if grabbing something for security. “Dear, don’t tell me you married that little puppy just now!”

Besides this, Qiao Xiaomian couldn’t think of anything else that would make Ning Qingqing look so serious.

Ning Qingqing couldn’t help but marvel at her best friend’s imagination. She said, “You guessed half of it right.”

“Woo, honey, don’t scare me. Tell me everything at once. My little heart can’t take it…” Qiao Xiaomian said, hugging the lemon water and gulping down several mouthfuls.

Other people drink alcohol to embolden themselves; she drinks water to calm her nerves.

“I got married suddenly, but it’s not with the driver, Xiao He. It’s with his boss,” Ning Qingqing looked at Qiao Xiaomian’s increasingly wide-open mouth and dropped the bombshell, “His boss is Gu Youchen.”

“Huh?” Qiao Xiaomian felt she must have been stunned by her best friend’s flash marriage news. She felt like she had heard this name before, but her brain froze and she couldn’t remember it.

Ning Qingqing explained, “He’s the heir to the Gu Group. I should have mentioned him to you before. He’s Shen Zhiqian’s arch-rival.”

“Whoa!” Qiao Xiaomian stood up abruptly. “Ahhhhh!”

They weren’t sitting in a private room, so her action attracted the attention of many people.

Ning Qingqing quickly pulled her back down, and to prevent Qiao Xiaomian from doing anything else shocking, Ning Qingqing stood up and sat next to her.

“Mianmian, listen to me, I don’t know why I got married so suddenly. I’m still in a daze.”

Qiao Xiaomian, after a brief shock, suddenly laughed, a mischievous laugh.

“Dear, this is amazing! Shen Zhiqian didn’t show up, and you directly married his arch-rival. Hahahahaha, revenge is sweet! He’ll be furious when he finds out!”

Ning Qingqing hadn’t expected her best friend to focus on this, but thinking about it, she was curious about Shen Zhiqian’s reaction.

It was only at this moment that Ning Qingqing realized that her original sadness had been largely dispelled by the series of events that had happened this afternoon.

Now, when she thought of Shen Zhiqian, the feeling of distress and oppression wasn’t as strong.

So, Ning Qingqing recounted the events that had happened since noon: “Anyway, that’s how it is. When I realized it, I already had a marriage certificate in my hand.”

Qiao Xiaomian listened as if she were listening to a novel. Although she wasn’t the one involved, she couldn’t recover for a long time, only murmuring, “Then, where’s your marriage certificate?”

When she left, Ning Qingqing knew her best friend would definitely want to see the marriage certificate, so she brought it with her.

She took out the marriage certificate from her bag and looked at the three characters “Marriage Certificate,” feeling dazed.

Qiao Xiaomian quickly took it, carefully examined it, and exclaimed, “Oh my, my Qingqing has grown up and gotten married!”

Her heart was pounding erratically, sometimes happy for Ning Qingqing, who could now slap the faces of the scumbags, and sometimes worried, “Did your husband trick you?”

Ning Qingqing was distraught. “I don’t know what happened to me then. Maybe I drank too much…”

“Sigh, you’re always hazy after drinking. You lose all your usual cleverness.” Qiao Xiaomian hugged her. “But it’s okay, okay. The Gu family has so much wealth. What does he have to scheme against you for? Maybe he fell in love with you at first sight and wanted to marry you?”

Ning Qingqing shook her head. “He’s seen all kinds of girls at his level. It’s not that easy to fall in love at first sight.”

“Then maybe he wanted to marry his arch-rival’s ex-girlfriend to get revenge?” Qiao Xiaomian patted Ning Qingqing’s back. “Anyway, you’re not at a loss. Anyway, if he treats you badly later, just kick him. If he treats you well, then…”

Ning Qingqing paused. If he treated her well, then they would try to get along and develop feelings.

The future was still uncertain, but she heard Gu Youchen’s words in her ears: “Since we were going to get married anyway, why not go for the result first and then make up for the process?”

At this moment, a sudden flash of insight illuminated Ning Qingqing’s mind. The logical loopholes in her previously hazy, alcohol-induced brain finally made sense.

Gu Youchen was right, but that was based on a presumption—that they would get married.

But why would they get married?

Ning Qingqing murmured, separating herself from Qiao Xiaomian’s embrace and also taking a sip of lemon water to calm her nerves. “Mianmian, I feel like I was really tricked into marriage?”

At the same time, Gu Youchen’s private jet was flying over Beishi.

In a meeting room at a hotel in Beishi, Shen Zhiqian took a call and was in a good mood.

The odds of winning this project were getting higher and higher.

He turned to his special assistant. “Assistant Wu, is there any new development from Gu’s company?”

Assistant Wu shook his head. “I’ve had people keep an eye on those other shareholders, and it turns out Zhou Linghang doesn’t have any good strategies.”

“What about Gu Youchen?” Shen Zhiqian couldn’t help but ask. “Although this project isn’t the biggest, he’s not going to give it up? Sending a childhood friend to make a show of force, who would give him the project!”

Assistant Wu frowned and shook his head. “I can’t figure it out either, but I just heard some gossip that Gu Youchen rushed back because he was in a hurry to get married.”

Shen Zhiqian was surprised. “Married? When did he have a fiancée?”

As an opponent, Shen Zhiqian felt that he should know Gu Youchen well. This man didn’t even have a girlfriend, let alone a fiancée.

Over the years, many clients had sent women to Gu Youchen, but none of them got close.

He didn’t expect him to get married suddenly. He had to find out who he was marrying!

Assistant Wu said, “I just heard it too. Apparently, they got their marriage certificates this afternoon.”

Shen Zhiqian sneered. “Heh, regardless, he’s going to lose this project!”

After so many years of rivalry, this time, Gu Youchen should finally fall into his trap!
