Esports: The Scheming Jungler Tempts the Mid Laner chapter 25

Chapter 25: Things During Training

Qi Feng drove like the wind, speeding back to the base with the food his future partner loved. Chi Jing hadn’t finished his stream yet, so Qi Feng swaggered in carrying the takoyaki, walked up behind Chi Jing, and started feeding him. The bullet comments instantly flooded with “flashy operation,” and now anyone could see Qi Feng’s “ill intentions” toward Chi Jing.

Poor Wu Cheng left his gentle comforts and rolled to the base, scolding Qi Feng harshly upon arrival. Qi Feng accepted it all with a smile. The few teammates who were making up their streaming hours tacitly turned off their microphones—gotta save him some face, right?

After Qi Feng was done being scolded, he called everyone to gather around the dining table. He placed the cat next to the computer and streamed them one by one. Netizens switched between livestreams just to see where the cat was, admiring the cat while angrily cursing them for padding their streaming hours!

The six of them, however, ate with gusto.

“Eat more, you’re too thin.”

Qi Feng looked at Chi Jing in front of him and spoke gently. He felt Chi Jing had always been very thin, so he took three skewers of the essence of barbecue—chicken mid-wings—and gave them to him, hoping he would eat more. The remaining mid-wings were split equally among the others, with each person getting only one skewer.

The group angrily cursed the double-standard dog. Wu Cheng felt something was a bit off with Qi Feng, but couldn’t pinpoint exactly what. No matter how he looked at it, he felt Qi Feng treated Chi Jing like an older brother treating a younger brother, but wasn’t it a bit too intimate?

Hearing Qi Feng’s words, a faint blush rose on Chi Jing’s face, and he felt a trace of warmth and emotion in his heart. He took the three skewers of mid-wings Qi Feng handed over, whispered a thank you, and began to taste them.

He bit into a fresh, juicy wing, feeling the rich aroma spread in his mouth. He looked at Qi Feng and said, “Delicious!” As he ate, he noticed Qi Feng was looking at him intently, eyes full of concern and love.

Chi Jing’s heartbeat accelerated involuntarily, and he felt his cheeks getting hotter. He tried to hide his shyness, lowering his head to continue enjoying the food, but his heart couldn’t calm down.

Seeing Chi Jing’s shy look, the corners of Qi Feng’s mouth couldn’t help rising. He felt Chi Jing’s reaction was extremely cute, making him want to tease him. So, he deliberately asked: “Tasty? Want some more?”

Hearing this, Chi Jing hurriedly shook his head and waved his hand, saying, “No need, I’m already very full. Thank you.” He secretly rejoiced in his heart; luckily he didn’t give him more food, otherwise, he really wouldn’t know how to handle such an awkward situation.

Qi Feng smiled and stopped teasing Chi Jing, turning to chat with the others. Chi Jing gradually relaxed and integrated into everyone’s conversation atmosphere. The entire dining room was filled with laughter and delicious food, making people feel happy.

After eating and drinking their fill, Qi Feng pestered Chi Jing, constantly teasing him until he blushed from his neck to his face. The more Wu Cheng thought about it, the more wrong it felt. A thought flashed through his mind, but wasn’t that a bit too beastly?

He cleared his throat and said: “Little Feng, come with me to the conference room.”

Qi Feng raised an eyebrow. He seemingly knew why Wu Cheng was looking for him. Without making a sound, he took the coffee he made for Chi Jing and followed Wu Cheng to the conference room.

“Spill it?”

Wu Cheng spoke as soon as Qi Feng entered. Qi Feng wasn’t in a hurry to answer; he found a chair and sat down.

“Spill what?”

Wu Cheng slapped the table, suppressing his anger as he said: “Why did I come to find you? You don’t know?”

Qi Feng leaned lazily back in the chair, legs crossed, looking leisurely and contented. He raised an eyebrow and chuckled lightly: “Why such a big temper? What did I do wrong? Did I skip training? Or did I affect his training?”

Wu Cheng took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, but his tone was still full of dissatisfaction and worry: “Do you know how sensitive the relationship between you two is right now? You two are high-profile figures in the esports circle. If the outside world discovers any special situation between you, the entire esports circle will cause a huge uproar! How many mothers do you two have combined? Is it enough for those haters to curse? How many pages are in your combined family trees? A rookie Mid Laner who just entered the team actually dating the captain—the consequences are simply unimaginable! Have you considered these issues? If you haven’t thought about yourself, have you thought about him?”

Hearing this, Qi Feng wanted to hook the corners of his mouth, wanted to laugh but couldn’t. In the end, he just shook his head helplessly. He said softly: “We aren’t together. I am pursuing him.”

However, Wu Cheng’s anger didn’t subside because of this; instead, it burned even stronger: “Since you aren’t together yet, why make it so obvious? Everyone in the base knows about your affairs, am I the only one kept in the dark? Now the fans can somewhat see the signs too; you are too obvious! Qi Feng, it’s not like there aren’t people dating in the circle, but who makes it as obvious as you? I won’t say much else, but no matter who it is, you’re so obvious right now even a blind person could see it!”

He paused, took out a cigarette, lit it, and took a deep drag, talking to Qi Feng calmly.

“Just consider it doing a good deed. Did you two win the Spring Split championship? Can you qualify for the Summer Split? He has no achievements right now, and he’s still controversial. Do you want him to be scolded even worse?

Consider it doing a good deed, old man, don’t make it so obvious. Yes, that contract doesn’t have a clause forbidding dating, but I hope you can gauge the degree properly. At the very least, before he has achievements, don’t make such big moves!”

Qi Feng lowered his eyes. “I understand. Rest assured, before I succeed in pursuing him and before he has achievements, I won’t announce it officially.”

Wu Cheng laughed out of anger: “You are this confident you can catch him? He has so many ‘wife fans,’ how do you know he is definitely gay?”

Qi Feng looked up at him and said firmly: “I grew up with him since childhood. My liking him isn’t a matter of one or two days. I can feel whether he likes me or not. He is resenting me.”

Wu Cheng asked in surprise: “Resenting you for what? You two dated before? You wronged him?”

Qi Feng was silent for a moment before saying: “We weren’t together. I left suddenly. You know his family situation. The time I left happened to be his most difficult time. He definitely resents me.”

After speaking, Qi Feng silently lit a cigarette.

Seeing this, Wu Cheng didn’t continue to question. Instead, he silently finished smoking, then got up and walked to the conference room door, leaving a sentence behind: “I quite like this kid, whether it’s his personality or his strength. I believe no one would dislike him. I don’t care about you, but if you’re just looking for fun, don’t ruin him.”

After speaking, Wu Cheng left without looking back, leaving Qi Feng sitting there quietly alone, lost in thought.
