Chapter 63: It’ll Be Fine After a Nap!
Sen Ji raised his eyes and cast a deep glance at the girl.
Although he had long known she had a deep connection with Mo Yin, the thought that Mo Yin had entered the room to be with her right after he left this morning… a hint of displeasure inevitably rose in his heart.
His gaze swept over the bed, which seemed to radiate an ambiguous atmosphere, and his mind uncontrollably imagined what had transpired there.
For instance, the small hand currently rubbing his tiger ear might have just rubbed the wolf ears of the youth outside, and the girl might have even secretly compared the two in her heart.
Or those glacier-blue cat eyes currently looking distractedly at his tiger tailānot long ago, they might have been misty and drowning in a daze while staring at the werewolf youth.
He couldn’t help but huff softly, “Your Highnessās energy is truly vigorous.”
After playing with him all night, she could still handle the excessive demands of a young sentinel.
Xie Qiang looked up in confusion.
While she didn’t understand why he suddenly brought up “energy,” still… “Iām young, so isn’t it normal to have vigorous energy?”
Sen Jiās brow twitched at her words, and the displeasure on his face became even more obvious.
Was she mocking him for being oldāan “old cow eating tender grass”?
“Our marriage was designated by His Majesty, it was not my wish!” he emphasized with a tight frown, his eyes holding a hint of resistance mixed with a bit of grievance.
Xie Qiang was baffled. She didn’t understand how the topic had suddenly jumped to the political marriage.
“What exactly are you trying to say?”
She stopped rubbing his tiger ear and looked at him with a slight frown, trying to figure out the mind of the man before her.
However, in Sen Ji’s eyes, this expression became “Don’t meddle in my business.”
Sen Jiās heart trembled.
So, she had fallen for Mo Yin and wouldn’t let him meddle anymore?
Even though he was being purified, he felt extremely irritable for some reason. The man clenched his fists and lowered his head, his green tiger eyes slowly losing their luster.
He didn’t want to meddle either.
But he couldn’t figure out why he cared so much.
At the thought of her on the bed, looking at Mo Yin with a serious and obsessed expression while saying she liked his soft wolf ears, liked his young and handsome face, and liked his energetic body even moreāSen Ji wanted to retract his tiger ears and tail and never let her touch them again.
Since she was so satisfied with that wolf, she shouldn’t have told him she liked him a little bit!
The manās face was dark, and his entire body radiated resentment. Not knowing what he was angry about, Xie Qiang looked at Bai Jin in confusion. “Do you know whatās wrong with him?”
Bai Jin raised a tiger paw and pointed toward the large bed not far away.
Heāll be fine after a nap!
Xie Qiang suddenly realized!
He hadn’t slept at all last night and had to handle military affairs during the day. No wonder he was in a foul mood; it was due to a lack of sleep!
Xie Qiang quickly stood up, interlaced her fingers with his for purification, and gently tugged his arm. She asked thoughtfully, “How about you go sleep on the bed for a while?”
Sen Jiās whole body shook as he looked at her with shock.
“Letās go.” Seeing that he wasn’t moving, Xie Qiang took the lead, leaving her chair and pulling his arm toward the bed.
Bai Jin wagged his tail excitedly, “She wants to sleep with you!!!”
Sen Ji had originally suspected he had misheard, but hearing Bai Jinās words, his green eyes slowly widened. As he watched the girl pull him closer and closer to the bed, a flush of red spread across the tips of his ears, refusing to fade.
She… how could sheā
Sen Jiās mind was completely jammed; he didn’t know how to react. It wasn’t until his gaze caught the two prominent grey hairs on the white sheet that he suddenly snapped awake and stopped abruptly.
As soon as he stopped, Xie Qiangās arm was jerked straight. She was forced to stop as well and turned to look at him in confusion.
To her surprise, she saw that the tall, handsome manās ears were so red they looked like they were dripping blood. Those stern tiger eyes were darting around like a panicked rabbit, refusing to land on her face.
He spoke hoarsely, his face carrying three parts panic and two parts hesitation, “You clearly promised yesterday…” that we wouldn’t sleep together.
When did this person learn Hong Queās habit of only speaking half-sentences, making it impossible to understand what he wanted to say?
Xie Qiang took a light breath, then tried to ask as calmly as possible, “What did I promise?”
To her surprise, the man before her trembled, looking at her with disbelief. “Youāre actually going to deny it?”
Xie Qiang: ?
Does he have a comprehension problem! She really wanted to punch him!
Thanks to him, Xie Qiang had now completely lost the desire to communicate. She raised her arm and pointed directly at the bed, ordering, “Shut up. Get on the bed.”
Sen Ji took a step back, his eyes full of struggle. “Xie Qiang, don’t be like this.”
Their relationship had finally improved a bit. Why did she insist on destroying it all with her own hands?
Xie Qiang didn’t understand what he was resisting. She looked at Sen Ji, then back at her bed. After thinking for a long time, she finally found a reasonable explanation.
“Do you have a germaphobia?” Xie Qiang asked. “Do you mind that someone else has slept in the bed?”
“I…” Sen Ji pursed his lips, not knowing how to answer.
“Then letās go sleep in your room,” Xie Qiang suggested. At that time, she would just sit beside him and purify him.
Sen Jiās body was stiff. “Can we just not sleep?”
“Iām doing this for your own good.” Xie Qiang frowned slightly. “Only then can your physical condition recover quickly.”
Hearing this, Sen Jiās eyelashes trembled, and he looked up at her abruptly.
For his own good?
The concern and care in the girlās eyes weren’t faked at all. They were so real that Sen Ji could clearly perceive the cold, resistant heart in his chest slowly crumbling because of her.
“For me…” He uncontrollably walked toward the girl and looked down at her. “Is it really for me?”
For him… an unwelcome defective product…
They were too close.
He gazed at her with those deep eyes, and she could clearly see her own reflection in those dark green tiger eyes. Xie Qiangās heart skipped a beat, and she unconsciously looked away, taking a step back. “Well, why else?”
Watching her retreat in panic, a bitter smile flashed through Sen Ji’s eyes. Just as he was about to say she didn’t need to lie, he heard a rapid heartbeat.
He was startled for a moment and lowered his gaze to the girlās chest.
Oops, a Sentinel’s hearing is too sharp.
Xie Qiang suddenly covered her heart and said loudly in an attempt to hide her embarrassment, “Ah! Are you going to sleep or not!”
The girlās face was red and flustered. That look… didn’t seem like she only liked him a little bit; it looked like she liked him a whole lot.
Sen Ji couldn’t help but wonder if she made that proposal just for his sake or if she had other hidden motives.
He couldn’t figure it out; her thoughts were too difficult to guess.
“Xie Qiang.” He raised his hand to cover her left cheek, turning her gaze back to his face. “I can’t go to the final step, but…”
He lowered his eyes slightly, his lips slowly approaching. “Maybe we can try this…”
He also wanted to confirm whether he could accept this girl who had once brought him humiliation but now constantly made him lose his focus.
The moment their lips touched, Sen Ji closed his eyes, and Xie Qiangās eyes widened in shock.
