Chapter 167
Shen Xili dragged Shen Shuyu all the way to the classroom door before releasing him. He had also sorted out his emotions.
Shen Shuyu looked at him and pointed to the classroom. “Let’s go.”
He took two steps but saw that Shen Xili didn’t move. He asked in confusion, “Aren’t you going to class?”
Shen Xili shook his head. “Too sad, preparing to skip class.”
Shen Shuyu opened his mouth, thinking to himself that this was too blunt. Looking at Shen Xili’s expression, he didn’t look sad no matter how you looked at it.
Shen Xili pushed him toward the classroom door. “Go quickly, good student. Brother is going to skip class to be sad.”
Shen Shuyu pursed his lips, not knowing what to say. He said, “Then watch out for your wound. See you.”
Shen Xili nodded with a smile, watching Shen Shuyu enter the classroom. He then turned around and walked back the way they came. Only when he was completely away from the classroom with Shen Shuyu did the smile on his face cool down completely.
He said he was skipping class, but in reality, he didn’t know where to go at this moment to mourn his love that hadn’t even begun.
Thinking as he walked, his heart led him to the place where he confessed to Shen Shuyu.
Class had started now, and the academy was quiet. He sat on the bench, motionless, like a statue.
Shen Xili looked at the scenery in the distance and couldn’t help but sigh deeply. The first time he liked someone in his life, it was fine if that person didn’t like him back, but it had to be his younger brother with whom he had no blood relation.
Shen Shuyu said he was smart, but actually, he was just despicable.
Actually, after knowing he was related to the Shen family, he already knew he and Shen Shuyu had no possibility, but he still couldn’t resist saying it.
Shen Xili recalled Shen Shuyu’s somewhat cautious and chagrined look just now and sighed. When had that little tyrant ever looked like that?
But if he didn’t say it, there really would be no chance later.
Shen Xili leaned against the back of the chair and closed his eyes, enjoying the winter sun shining on his body. The sunlight was warm, but his heart remained icy cold.
Sensing someone sitting beside him, Shen Xili opened his eyes. Upon seeing who it was, he instinctively wanted to get up and leave.
That person smiled. “What’s wrong, God of War? Only a short time no see, and you dislike me this much?”
Shen Xili steadied his heart, his fingers rubbing the terminal in his pocket and typing blindly. He said, “Yeah, didn’t Zhong tell you I hate you guys especially now?”
That person nodded. “He did. He even told me in exasperation that after catching you, he wants to plant a hundred parasitic bugs in your body.”
“Ah,” Shen Xili said. “That depends on whether he has the ability.”
Just as his voice fell, the person sitting next to him stabbed at him with a small knife. Shen Xili was prepared and used his terminal to block it. Their bodies didn’t move, but the moves in their hands were aimed at each other’s lives.
Shen Xili’s terminal was slashed by the knife. He punched violently, and the person, unable to dodge in time, was hit hard.
He withdrew his hand, the smile on his face undiminished. “Worthy of being the God of War, even a terminal can be used as a weapon by you.”
“You’ve improved a lot too, but I’m not in the mood to play these games with you now. I have to go to class,” Shen Xili said. “I’m in a bad mood, don’t bother me.”
But that person said, “Probably can’t do that. The Master wants to see you.”
Shen Xili said, “I don’t want to see him.”
But the person beside him had already summoned a small vortex. He took off the cover over his left eye; his left eye was an artificial eye, rotating mechanically and emitting a blue light.
His tone also became stiff and stuttering. “God of War, if you don’t wish for us to invite your friend over as well, then please be cooperative.”
Shen Xili took a deep breath. He stood up and walked toward the vortex.
The next second, a breeze blew past, rolling up a leaf that landed on the bench just now. The bench still had some warmth, but the person was gone.
A boring class finished. Shen Shuyu lay on the table, feeling empty after being tormented by the curriculum.
Feng Xing said, “Why so listless? Let’s go, Brother Xing will treat you to a meal.”
Shen Shuyu got up. He said, “Knowledge doesn’t enter the brain.”
And the teacher announced that final exams were next Monday. If he did poorly, he would fail. Although his grades had been stable recently, the teacher said the difficulty would be upgraded—difficult upon difficult.
Shen Shuyu couldn’t help thinking, What is with these days?
He placed his hopeful gaze on Wen Jiafei, but Wen Jiafei said, “I don’t have time.”
Shen Shuyu lowered his head. “Okay.”
It was the end of the year now. People with work stress and study stress liked to go to bars for a drink. Wen Jiafei and Shen Xili were already full-time employees at the bar. Whenever he had time, he would go to work at the bar to supplement the household income.
Although the money from the underground fight last week was enough for him and Wen Yue to live on for a long time, who would complain about having too much money?
Shen Shuyu took out his terminal, but Feng Xing held his hand down and said, “What are you looking at? Eat first, ok?”
Shen Shuyu nodded. “Fine.”
He was a little hungry too.
He was about to ask Wen Jiafei what he wanted to eat, but Wen Jiafei had already picked up his bag and left.
Seeing this, Feng Xing asked, “What’s wrong with him? He looks unhappy all day today.”
Shen Shuyu didn’t know what was wrong with him either. “Maybe he thinks you’re noisy.”
Feng Xing chuckled. “Bullshit.”
However, Shen Shuyu stood up and said, “I won’t eat with you at noon. I’ll go ask Wen Jiafei; I want to ask him for tutoring.”
Feng Xing sighed twice. “It’s fine if you don’t eat with me, but why go find Wen Jiafei? Shouldn’t you find Shen Xili?”
Shen Shuyu was puzzled. “Why find Shen Xili?”
Feng Xing pointed at his clothes. “You two are wearing couple outfits, and you’re still pretending in front of me?”
Couple outfits?
Shen Shuyu looked down and was speechless. “Does the same style have to mean couple outfits? My brother has an identical gray one; am I a couple with my brother when we stand together? Careful he doesn’t hear you and off you.”
Feng Xing was shocked. “Huh? So it’s just a simple clash of outfits?”
The Shen family hadn’t announced Shen Xili’s matter yet. After all, Shen Xili hadn’t agreed to return to the Shen family, so only the parties involved and Yue Cheng knew about this.
Shen Shuyu didn’t intend to tell Feng Xing either. “Rein in your wild imagination. Let’s go, see you in the afternoon.”
“Alright.” Watching Shen Shuyu leave, Feng Xing couldn’t help muttering, “Who would have thought…”
After all, the person who misunderstood didn’t seem to be just him.
Shen Shuyu quickly caught up with Wen Jiafei. He walked in front of him and circled twice. “Are you unhappy today?”
Wen Jiafei glanced at him. “No.”
Shen Shuyu didn’t believe it. After all, he had long mastered reading Wen Jiafei’s micro-expressions.
He said, “Say it if you’re unhappy. If you don’t say it, how would I know what you’re thinking?”
Wen Jiafei looked at him and didn’t make a sound.
Shen Shuyu said, “How is Auntie’s work these past two days?”
“Pretty good.”
“What about Meimei? Haven’t seen it in a long time.”
“Pretty good.”
No matter what Shen Shuyu asked, he solved it with two words: “Pretty good.”
It felt a bit like when their relationship had just started to thaw.
Shen Shuyu sighed. They say an Omega’s mind is hard to guess; he felt an Alpha’s mind was also quite hard to guess.
Wen Jiafei glanced at the sighing Shen Shuyu and lowered his eyes as he walked down the stairs.
He didn’t know what he was unhappy about either, so naturally, he couldn’t answer Shen Shuyu’s question.
