Streaming Earth Cuisine In The Interstellar to Raise Star Cubs chapter 59.2

Part 2

The desert island wasn’t close to Pinminku City. A spaceship would work, but they were too large and not good for stealthy movement.

An electric bike was much more convenient.

He straddled his “throne” and patted the seat behind him. “Get on.”

Zong Hao thought about it and still jumped on. But he didn’t know what to do with his paws. Finally, Ning Yunyi let out a tsk, reached back, and grabbed the paws, placing them around his waist. “Stop dawdling. I won’t care if you fall off; you’ll have to run on your own by then.”

With that, he zoomed out, weaving through various narrow alleys.

Zong Hao had never seen such a thing. He suddenly tightened his paws, only feeling that the waist beneath them was very slender. He had just instinctively let go a bit when the bike suddenly accelerated forward again, and he hugged tightly once more, fearing he really would fall off.

At this time, nightlife was just beginning. This was a city that never slept, and it was noisy everywhere, so he didn’t worry that the sound would travel.

Once they drove out of Pinminku City, Ning Yunyi increased his speed further, heading straight for the desert island according to the map he had memorized.

Over an hour later, Ning Yunyi and the big cat arrived at a place one kilometer away from the desert island ahead.

He put away the electric bike and lay in the bushes looking ahead. He even took out a high-tech infrared telescope. Since he had applied Invisibility Talismans beforehand, he didn’t worry about being exposed.

He continuously zoomed in to locate the desert island, and soon the entire island appeared clearly before his eyes.

The desert island truly was as Ichi had scouted; it was covered in waist-high withered grass, looking as if there were no living creatures.

During the day, no life signs could be detected. But now, in the dark of night, the entire desert island was densely packed with people.

Because of the distance, Ning Yunyi couldn’t tell what their levels were, but given that they were sent to guard, their levels were likely not low.

Ning Yunyi wasn’t in a hurry and kept waiting. Half an hour later, the hundred people hidden in various parts of the desert island seemed to receive a signal and stood up in unison, walking toward one location.

Reaching that opening, they silently lined up.

Before long, an archway just large enough for one person to pass through floated up from beneath the water. Those people systematically passed through the archway and went underwater.

At the same time, another group began to walk from beneath the water up to the island.

One side went into the water while the other came out.

A hundred people worked in shifts without interruption, and they didn’t make a sound during the process.

It wasn’t until dawn that all these people retreated. At the same time, Ning Yunyi saw a faint golden light like a net flicker on the water’s surface, as if a golden wire cage had been built underwater several hundred meters outside the lonely island.

Ning Yunyi watched for most of the night, his brow furrowed and his expression grave.

Beside him, Zong Hao’s expression was also complicated. Clearly, with so many guards in just the outer ring, no one knew what the situation was underwater.

They were invisible, but their bodies were physical. If they accidentally tripped any traps underwater, they would be exposed in a second.

The two returned. Once in the room, Zong Hao lay on the carpet by the bed with his eyes downcast, unable to sleep at all.

Ning Yunyi rolled over and looked down. “It’s no use being anxious. This is only the first day. Go to sleep. This place hasn’t been discovered for so many years, despite being strictly guarded. But if you guard a place for so long without ever having an accident, you’ll easily grow lax… and that will provide a gap large enough for us to sneak in.”

Zong Hao gave a light response. He wanted to ask if he was very useless, but in the end, he didn’t say it. He already couldn’t help much, and if he made Ning Yunyi comfort him, he’d be even more useless.

He could only listen to Ning Yunyi now, not hinder him, and protect him at critical moments.

Over the next two days, Ning Yunyi went out of the hotel at night to wander around various places to search for the fugitive’s whereabouts. Around midnight, he would take the big cat to the desert island to look for defensive patterns and loopholes.

It wasn’t until the third day that he actually found a loophole. So many guards stayed underwater for so long; they couldn’t possibly have no hobbies.

On the third night, not long after Ning Yunyi and the big cat arrived, a spaceship flew to the shore and landed.

Several burly men got off the spaceship, carrying out several boxes of things and several well-sealed food containers.

Next were ten young girls dressed identically in red dresses wearing half-masks of red foxes, and ten young boys with slender builds in white suits wearing half-masks of white foxes, their features clear and handsome.

Ning Yunyi’s expression was eerie as he watched this.

Zong Hao, on the other hand, frowned and looked at this scene in confusion. Why had these people suddenly appeared? Were they new shifters? But why were there no guards?

Not only that, but after the burly men left the boxes and the young people, they took the spaceship and left.

Zong Hao looked at Ning Yunyi in confusion, but Ning Yunyi’s expression was even stranger. He patted the cat and told him to follow that spaceship.

Zong Hao didn’t hesitate and immediately rushed out at a speed faster than ever before.

Ning Yunyi continued to keep watch here. After waiting for about ten minutes, a submarine drove over. Once the hatch opened, someone walked out. They first covered the heads of the twenty young people so they couldn’t see anything, and then took out a device to scan everyone and the boxes. Finally, having confirmed everything was correct, they led them one by one onto the vessel.

The others quickly brought the boxes and food containers onto the submarine. Before long, the hatch closed, and it soon dived underwater.

Ning Yunyi: Although I know these guards couldn’t stay below for decades without a break, I didn’t expect them to play so wildly without regard for gender.

Ning Yunyi kept watching the submarine enter the water and the situation of the guards on the island. He found that they seemed to have received instructions.

The submarine was not attacked by any of the guards on the island.

Ning Yunyi understood that this submarine should be the only exception for this place; as long as everything was confirmed correct, one could enter smoothly.

That device looked like it was for testing mental power. These young people should be without mental power.

Ning Yunyi stared at the water surface with narrowed eyes until the big cat ran back two hours later.

Ning Yunyi waited until the sky was almost light. Seeing the sky begin to turn pale, the submarine surfaced again and sent the twenty people and the clearly empty boxes back up.

The twenty people were still dressed the same as last night. They sent a message, and before long, another spaceship came to pick them up.

Only then did Ning Yunyi take the big cat back to the hotel.

Over the next two days, through investigation, Ning Yunyi found that his previous guess was correct. Those twenty people were specially trained by the largest club on the desert planet to be able to sing and dance.

There were forty of them—twenty young girls and twenty young boys—all carefully selected to have no mental power, and their looks were exceptionally outstanding and beautiful.

These forty people didn’t usually work in the club. Every three days, twenty people were sent to this place, and the next time a different group would go.

All these people had their mouths sealed and were not allowed to leak any news.

Due to the high price given by the boss and threats to their families, the fact that they could rest for three days after one trip meant no one talked.

To prevent anyone from getting sick, the boss had trained ten extra people just in case.

On the third night, Ning Yunyi approached one of the young boys who was very short of money. Getting straight to the point, he produced a small box.

The boy was stunned, frightened by his appearance. “Wh-who are you? What do you want to do?”

Ning Yunyi directly opened the small box, revealing a box full of gold coins—probably several hundred.

The boy froze there, his eyes bulging. He had never seen so many gold coins in his life.

One gold coin was ten thousand star coins. Weren’t there several million star coins here?
