Chapter 171
Although the Survival Battle wouldn’t truly endanger the contestants’ lives, the map inside was large and dense. To prevent accidents, besides the basic time display and recording the health bar, this watch also had a hidden function: positioning.
The positioning was connected to everyone’s terminal, extracting the contestant’s location map from the terminal. The positioning they saw on the tablets in the Survival Battle was also linked to this.
Shen Shuyu took Shen Xili’s terminal out of his pocket. He murmured, “No wonder.”
No wonder Shen Xili left the terminal behind for them.
Wen Jiafei quickly opened Shen Xili’s terminal and searched. Sure enough, he found the small icon for the positioning system. Once clicked, the positioning system automatically started searching.
Shen Shuyu and Wen Jiafei stared at the spinning circle on the terminal. After an unknown amount of time, the location map finally appeared.
“Is this red dot Shen Xili’s location?” Shen Shuyu hadn’t expected to actually find Shen Xili’s location.
It seemed interstellar technology was indeed superior.
Wen Jiafei hummed. “Yes.”
He took out his own terminal and searched for the address name displayed. This place wasn’t in the city center of Amor, but on the outskirts.
“From the school, even without traffic, it takes nearly two hours to drive there. How could they take Shen Xili there so quickly?” Shen Shuyu glanced at Wen Jiafei’s terminal. “It’s only been half an hour from when I received Shen Xili’s message to when the other party messaged me.”
Wen Jiafei said, “They must have used some other method to get there.”
This address was a relatively desolate place. Centuries ago, there were many factories there, but later Amor expanded and rebuilt, so that area was gradually abandoned.
If not for the positioning, no one would guess Shen Xili would appear in that place.
“Do you have any ideas?” Wen Jiafei asked.
Shen Shuyu inhaled. “I’ll go negotiate with them first. You follow behind me and find a chance to raid.”
Wen Jiafei thought for a moment, then shook his head. “I’ll negotiate, you raid.”
The other party was heinous. If they started robbing without a word, the negotiator would be in greater danger. Moreover, they didn’t know Shen Xili’s current condition—was he unconscious or capable of fighting?
Shen Shuyu chuckled lightly. “Wen Jiafei, are you worried about me?”
Wen Jiafei pursed his lips and boldly admitted this time, “Yes.”
Shen Shuyu was stunned. He actually just wanted to lighten the somewhat solemn atmosphere. Hearing Wen Jiafei admit it really gave him an indescribable feeling.
He swallowed and continued, “Me negotiating and you raiding is the best way. After all, the person they wanted to find initially was me. If I don’t appear, they probably won’t believe the item you found, making it more troublesome. I’ll keep communicating with you after I go in later. If you hear anything wrong, come in immediately.”
Shen Shuyu smiled brightly. “Of course, with just the two of us, the chance of winning isn’t big.”
Wen Jiafei tilted his head. “Who else do you want to find?”
Shen Shuyu said, “Of course, find a parent.”
Parent?
Did Shen Xili still have parents?
But seeing Shen Shuyu’s confident look, he nodded. “Okay, I’ll listen to your arrangement.”
Shen Shuyu patted Wen Jiafei’s shoulder. “Don’t worry, I definitely won’t let you get hurt.”
Wen Jiafei looked at him, then withdrew his gaze. “Mn, I believe you.”
Outskirts of Amor.
In the empty, dim warehouse, a few skinny mice and some unnamable insects crawled by occasionally. It was damp and cold here; anyone who inadvertently set foot here would feel creeped out.
In the center of the warehouse, a candle emitted a faint light, illuminating the faces of three people sitting by the table. All three looked fat and big-eared, with flesh piling up on their faces. Their bodies were tall and sturdy, looking very tough to deal with.
One of them spat. “Damn, why is Amor so cold? Doesn’t look like our planet at all.”
“Hahahaha, you call this cold? Fourth, you’re too weak, aren’t you?” Another person laughed loudly. “You haven’t been to the Ice Trace Planet. When Boss and I went to raid that planet, everything was made of ice. That was truly maddening. We froze for three days. After coming back, I became immune to this temperature.”
“Does this count as a blessing in disguise? Hahahaha!”
“Using idioms just because you learned some? You pig brain, why didn’t the cold freeze you stupid back then?”
“Second, what do you mean? Want to fight?”
“Heh, fighting a brainless person like you, I’m afraid of getting dirty.”
“I’m going to cripple you today…”
Second and Third started arguing. Fourth sat aside happily watching the show. But before the two could fight, another voice shouted angrily, “Stop!”
Hearing the voice, the three immediately quieted down, even breathing much lighter.
A person wearing a black robe emerged from the darkness. With a gloomy face, he looked at these three. “Idiots, did I call you here to argue?”
The three looked at each other. Finally, Fourth spoke up. “Sorry Boss… we, we were just talking.”
The person called Boss showed no change in expression, just looking at the person tied up nearby.
He walked over step by step, reached out, pinched Shen Xili’s chin, and with a little force, lifted Shen Xili’s lowered head.
Shen Xili was sweating profusely. The hair on his forehead was wet with sweat, clinging obediently to his forehead. His face was pale, eyes closed tight, as if he had passed out.
The person in the black robe chuckled lightly. “I say, God of War, I didn’t expect that after leaving us, you learned to play dead.”
Shen Xili’s eyelids trembled slightly, then opened, looking coldly at the person pinching his chin.
He was extremely calm, not looking like a heavily injured person at all.
The other three gathered around too. Fourth said, “Damn, actually pretending?”
Black Robe glanced at him sideways. “That’s why I say you are idiots. If you aren’t vigilant, you won’t even know how you died.”
Fourth shut up timidly again.
Shen Xili hooked his lips. He said, “Why curse for me to hear? You tied me so tight; even if I had the will, I don’t have the strength. Besides, I can’t even beat you, how could I beat the three of them.”
Black Robe replied with a smile, “God of War, you are truly modest.”
Second stepped forward. “Boss, why waste so many words with this kid? He hasn’t been our God of War for a long time.”
Black Robe turned around and slapped him. “You talk too much!”
Second was slapped into a daze, looking at Black Robe in disbelief but daring not say another word.
Shen Xili looked at them indifferently. Black Robe turned back again, smiling. “God of War, rest assured. With me here, I absolutely won’t allow them to insult you.”
Shen Xili closed his eyes, too lazy to watch his act.
Seeing this, Third wanted to step forward too but was stopped by Black Robe.
Black Robe said slowly, “God of War, it’s almost time. Do you think your friend will come to find you with the item?”
Shen Xili remained silent, simply closing his eyes to sleep. Suddenly, the wound on his shoulder was pressed hard by someone. He slowly opened his eyes and glanced sideways; it was Black Robe’s hand.
There was still a smile on his face, but the strength in his hand didn’t lessen a bit.
Shen Xili chuckled lightly, closing his eyes to sleep again, letting Black Robe press on his wound as if he felt no pain at all.
Black Robe leaned close to his ear, lowering his voice, “Actually, you don’t have to wait for your friend to come. You just need to tell me where you put the key. Once I get the treasure inside, we can split it fifty-fifty. From then on, the world is yours to roam.”
Shen Xili didn’t open his eyes, only saying indifferently, “Those three idiots behind you, are they willing to let us split it?”
Black Robe let out an “Ah.” “Then what do you wish for me to do?”
Shen Xili opened his eyes, his gaze landing on the three people behind him. “Need I teach you such a small matter?”
His voice wasn’t loud or quiet, just enough for everyone to hear. “Kill them.”
