How Did the Promised Yandere Villain Become a Clingy, Obedient Dog? Chapter 79

Chapter 79: Do You Feel Better Now?

It was unclear when it had been permitted, or who moved first, but in this moment, Wen Ling was already being held in Cheng Ge’s arms.

Wen Ling’s tears still flowed incessantly, and his voice hitched as he spoke. “I thought you were coming to help me… but, but you were blaming me too. You stood on their side…”

“I didn’t stand on their side…” Cheng Ge began, but was interrupted by Wen Ling.

“I was so sad. I… I thought you didn’t want me again. Cheng Ge, I’m sorry. I don’t know, I don’t know what was wrong with me. I didn’t push you on purpose. Don’t leave me. I really know I was wrong…”

“I haven’t left you.”

“…Cheng Ge, I won’t do that again…” Wen Ling’s voice became smaller and smaller, his breath weaker and weaker. Eventually, he stopped, curling up quietly in Cheng Ge’s arms.

Cheng Ge stopped stroking Wen Ling’s back. The person in his arms was so quiet it was terrifying, making Cheng Ge feel at a loss.

“Wen Ling?” Cheng Ge shook Wen Ling’s body, but the person in his arms only swayed limply with his movements.

The chill on Wen Ling’s body gradually faded, replaced by a scorching heat that swept through him like a wildfire. Even through the layers of clothing, Cheng Ge felt that Wen Ling’s temperature was scalding.

[001, 001, 001!]

[Host, please speak.]

[Make his fever go down. Use as many points as it takes.]

[Acknowledged. However, bringing down a fever takes a certain amount of time.]

[How long?]

[Approximately one hour.]

Cheng Ge felt like an over-inflated balloon about to explode. [Wen Ling will have burned to death by then!]

[Negative. Please trust in the power of the points. Furthermore, there is no need to go to a hospital for further intervention.]

[Understood.] Cheng Ge checked the surroundings. Supporting Wen Ling’s back and hooking his hands under Wen Ling’s knees, he carefully lifted him and walked out of the woods.

With a beep, the room door was opened. Cheng Ge held Wen Ling steadily, kicked the door shut with his heel, and hurried to the bathroom.

Wen Ling’s hands loosely circled Cheng Ge. He didn’t even have the strength to lift his eyelids. His voice was incredibly faint. “Where is this?”

“The new dorm.” On the way, Wen Ling had woken up once. He didn’t speak, just tried his best to keep his eyes open to look at Cheng Ge. He tentatively circled his hands around Cheng Ge’s neck, pressing his face against Cheng Ge’s chest before passing out again from exhaustion.

Wen Ling had passed the stage of feeling cold with chilled limbs; he was now in the late stage of high fever. Cheng Ge wanted to give Wen Ling a warm bath to help dissipate the heat and make him feel better.

Right now, Cheng Ge was afraid Wen Ling would fall back into a deep sleep, so he frantically searched for topics while running the warm water into the tub.

“The surprise I mentioned before—we can sleep together from now on.”

“Didn’t you say you can’t sleep at night and always have nightmares? Sleeping together might make it better.”

“You didn’t have many nightmares when we slept together before.”

If he did, Cheng Ge would have a way to coax him. Why would he need to endure it all alone?

He originally thought Wen Ling would be happy to hear this, but to his surprise, after just a few sentences, Wen Ling started crying again.

Wen Ling’s entire face was red. He bit his lip and didn’t speak, just looked at Cheng Ge while tears fell silently. It was a sight that made one’s heart turn soft and aching.

“Why are you crying? Why are you crying again?”

Cheng Ge somewhat helplessly wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes. His heart felt pinched and painful. “What are you crying for?”

Wen Ling buried his face in Cheng Ge’s chest and gave a small shake of his head, still refusing to speak.

Cheng Ge had no other choice. Right now, Wen Ling’s emotions were extremely unstable. He couldn’t be forced or scolded; he could only be coaxed.

His palm continuously stroked Wen Ling’s back. Once the tub was filled, he carefully tried to lower him in.

“No, don’t…” Wen Ling circled Cheng Ge’s neck and gripped his clothes, completely unwilling to leave Cheng Ge for even a second. His tone was excessively fearful and aggrieved. “Don’t go…”

“I’m not going. I wasn’t going to leave. You’re still lying here all sick—how could I leave?” Cheng Ge patiently coaxed Wen Ling, trying again to put him into the tub.

“No, no, Cheng Ge… cough… Cheng Ge, don’t…” Wen Ling began to cough and cry, sounding breathless. His legs struggled to wrap around Cheng Ge’s waist. “Don’t go. I was wrong. I’ll be good.”

Cheng Ge felt the temperature of the person in his arms continuing to rise, hot as a furnace. Anxious and worried, he simply carried the person into the tub with him, bending over to lower him in.

“Help… Cheng Ge, no! I’m scared… don’t leave.” As soon as Wen Ling touched the water, it was as if he’d touched fire. He arched his back, clinging tightly to Cheng Ge.

Cheng Ge had no other choice. When Wen Ling was being single-minded, no one could out-stubborn him. “I’m not going, I’m not going. I’ll stay with you, okay?”

Hearing Cheng Ge’s words, Wen Ling calmed down slightly. His emotions weren’t as intense as before, but he still muttered aggrievedly, “Cheng Ge, don’t leave.”

“I really won’t.” Cheng Ge knelt on one knee in the tub, trying his best to let Wen Ling’s entire body soak in the warm water. But Wen Ling was practically glued to him, so the amount of water he could actually soak in was limited. “Don’t hook your legs. Put them down.”

Wen Ling held Cheng Ge for a good while. His eyes wouldn’t open fully as he stared at Cheng Ge, his legs still refusing to let go.

Cheng Ge pressed his lips against Wen Ling’s face a few times. “Be a bit more obedient.”

Wen Ling really did nothing but stare at Cheng Ge, but his mood had clearly improved. Cheng Ge kissed Wen Ling’s lips again, pecking them a few times, his voice carrying a coaxing tone. “Be good.”

Only then did Wen Ling slowly lower his legs.

“Do you feel a bit better?”

Wen Ling’s rounded eyes blinked once, his long, upturned lashes fluttering—a sign that he felt a bit more comfortable.

Cheng Ge had just let out a breath of relief, but he didn’t realize he had relaxed too early.

In normal circumstances, as long as Cheng Ge initiated intimacy, Wen Ling would take an inch after being given a yard, wanting to claim Cheng Ge for himself. This was even more true now when his heart was filled with extreme fear and a desperate lack of security.

At first, Wen Ling just pressed his lips against Cheng Ge’s jaw and neck, kiss after kiss. Cheng Ge didn’t respond but didn’t stop him either, letting him play.

Cheng Ge’s silent permission was the security and stimulant for Wen Ling’s heart. Gradually, Wen Ling pressed against Cheng Ge’s lips, learning to peck them like Cheng Ge had, then slowly began to bite Cheng Ge’s lip.

Cheng Ge frowned and stroked the hair at the back of Wen Ling’s head. His tone was neutral. “Behave.”

Wen Ling couldn’t behave. Right now, every word and every action of Cheng Ge’s held a fatal attraction for him. Every fearful and insecure cell in his body was screaming to get closer to Cheng Ge. As long as Cheng Ge didn’t push Wen Ling away harshly, any action of Cheng Ge’s was a blatant seduction to Wen Ling.

Wen Ling didn’t let Cheng Ge retreat. He chased Cheng Ge for a kiss, putting all his effort into an urgent and long-lasting kiss. The red on his face that had just barely subsided surged back up. The corners of his eyes, the tip of his nose, and his cheeks were all flushed red.

Wen Ling gripped the corner of Cheng Ge’s shirt. “Cheng Ge… Cheng Ge…”
