Vicious Cannon Fodder, But a Squeamish Heartthrob chapter 24

Chapter 24: I Can’t Fit Into Your Pants

Both of them had returned empty-handed without bringing clothes, so Zhou Yuejun found one of his own shirts for Yu Deng to change into.

“Do you want to wear pants?”

Yu Deng held Zhou Yuejun’s shirt against himself. It was so long it covered his thighs.

The shirt was very new, blue-gray in color, and hadn’t been worn many times. It even had the factory’s name printed on it.

“You were actually an ‘Outstanding Worker’?”

“I can’t fit into your pants; they’ll be too big.”

With Zhou Yuejun’s physique, he could beat ten of him with one punch. He could effortlessly imprison the boy in his arms and bully him.

Zhou Yuejun: “What about underwear? Not wearing those either?”

Instantly, Yu Deng’s expression became strange—a mix of conflict, anger, and bashfulness. Gritting his teeth, he squeezed out two words.

“Not wearing!”

Whether it was wearing dirty ones or wearing Zhou Yuejun’s, he couldn’t accept either.

If he loved cleanliness, he’d have no face; if he wanted face, he’d have to be messy and wear dirty underwear.

So in the end, cleanliness won out.

With a sidelong glance, Yu Deng saw Zhou Yuejun was mocking him with schadenfreude.

Yu Deng’s face turned even redder. He knit his brows but still fiercely fired off words: “Is it very funny?”

Then, he used his body to bump Zhou Yuejun aside and carried the clothes to the bathroom.

By the time Zhou Yuejun came out after his shower, Yu Deng was almost asleep. However, his head was at the foot of the bed, facing the electric fan.

If Yu Deng hadn’t been so bleary-eyed that his eyelids were almost closed, Zhou Yuejun would definitely have taught him a lesson.

Full and soft—it probably wouldn’t hurt much to hit, right?

The bed wasn’t as large as the one in the rental. Yu Deng occupied most of it by himself, his sleeping posture comfortable and at ease.

As Zhou Yuejun approached Yu Deng, he could still smell the fresh fragrance of soap.

The boy’s legs, as white as porcelain, were spread apart, swaying before his eyes. Clearly, they were covered, but Zhou Yuejun still felt the splayed body was exposed before him.

Without a stitch of clothing.

Perhaps because he had drunk some alcohol, his whole body was burning hot. Zhou Yuejun was unable to suppress the heat rising from his body.

The familiar sense of torment made Zhou Yuejun lean close to the small face. His thin lips pressed against Yu Deng’s brows and eyes, greedily capturing every inch.

The lips were soft, red, and ripe. Tasting a mouthful was sweet, like drinking a cool, fine wine.

And he was so obedient and small; he must be very fragile.

Yu Deng woke up because of a sense of suffocation. He couldn’t quite breathe, feeling as though he were submerged in a deep pool, his chest completely unable to take air in or out.

The moment he opened his eyes, he was startled but couldn’t make a sound. He could only whimper helplessly.

“Keep your voice down. The building isn’t soundproof.”

“Do you want the people downstairs to know we’re husband and wife?”

Yu Deng was so scared he didn’t even dare to resist. He could only silently accept Zhou Yuejun’s increasingly wanton wickedness.

His almond eyes were moist with lust, full of hatred and shame, yet Zhou Yuejun even kissed away his tears.

He was a truly pitiable sight.

There weren’t many shops in the small county seat. Yu Deng was still eating his lamb rice noodles when He Yuan and his group arrived.

Zhou Yuejun greeted the other two He Yuan had brought along and asked Yu Deng: “Are you still eating?”

Yu Deng shook his head, and water was brought to his lips.

One of the men stole a couple of glances at Yu Deng: “Jun-ge, how come I’ve never heard you mention you had a younger brother before?”

He always felt it was strange. For a younger brother—especially one who looked fully capable of self-care—did water and tissues really need to be brought to his lips?

Zhou Yuejun had given this explanation many times, so he naturally didn’t feel guilty: “Cousin.”

Not long after Zhou Yuejun and Yu Deng arrived at the school, Yu Guoqing and Yu Tang arrived as well.

Just from their appearance, Yu Tang looked more like Yu Guoqing—both had the look of somewhat educated men.

But their features weren’t very good; they looked like “phoenix men” who were good at calculating.

As for Yu Deng, his refined and magnificent features complemented each other, creating a unique and stunning appearance that wasn’t vulgar but rather like a “little immortal.”

Just looking at him made one feel he was fragrant, obedient, and soft.

Seeing Yu Deng, Yu Guoqing immediately took on a fierce expression: “Yu Deng!”

“You heartless thing! Didn’t you say you were going to the factory to work? Where the hell have you been all these days?”

As Yu Guoqing ran toward Yu Deng, Zhou Yuejun stepped in between the two.

Zhou Yuejun was tall and broad-shouldered. His exposed arms were also firm and muscular. As he pressed forward, Yu Guoqing himself quickly retreated a few steps.

“Who… who are you?”

Zhou Yuejun’s face was cold, looking as if it had been carved with a knife. He narrowed his narrow eyes, remaining silent, giving off a sinister and chilling feeling.

“His relative. Don’t let him attend university—go ahead and try.”

Zhou Yuejun’s pronunciation was cold and hard, his deathly, terrifying hawk-like eyes filled with ferocity.

Yu Guoqing was momentarily intimidated. The arriving Yu Tang supported him and said with a stiff neck: “What relative? This is our family matter. Stay out of it!”

But Zhou Yuejun only narrowed his sharp eyes, and the threat level was maxed out.

He Yuan and his group also quickly gathered around, scaring Yu Guoqing and Yu Tang until their hearts trembled.

Yu Tang tried to put on a brave front, but he was internally panicked, his voice trembling: “Dad, look, Yu Deng even brought people to hit us.”

With Yu Tang leading the way, Yu Guoqing wasn’t as afraid anymore.

No matter what, would Yu Deng really dare to hit him? A son hitting his father—it was unfilial and went against the heavens; he would be cursed by everyone.

“Fine, you little brat! You’ve gained some skill after being out for a few days, even daring to hit me. Hit me then! Go ahead and try hitting me!”

Yu Guoqing felt he had nothing to fear and even pressed his face toward Zhou Yuejun.

Just after this threat was issued, Zhou Yuejun’s arm suddenly rose, scaring Yu Guoqing into immediately clutching his head and curling up.

Yu Tang even quickly hid behind Yu Guoqing.

Zhou Yuejun only stretched his hand and moved his body, the corners of his mouth holding a cold sneer: “He is definitely attending this university.”

“Attending what? Are you his father or am I his father? I won’t give him the tuition! He won’t even think about attending in this lifetime!”

Zhou Yuejun’s expression was cold. The slight protrusion of his cheekbones made him look distinctly ferocious: “Don’t worry. It’s not for you to worry about.”

“What do you mean? You’re going to pay his tuition?”

Yu Guoqing’s eyes rolled as he harbored bad intentions.

Could it be a relative from Yu Deng’s mother’s side who knew Yu Deng could get into a good university and came to support him so they could ask for favors later?

That wouldn’t do. He had raised Yu Deng for over ten years; how could he let all his efforts go to waste now?

Yu Guoqing’s tone was impatient: “Yu Deng, come here.”

Yu Deng ignored him and turned to run away.

As long as he kept stalling like this until the preference form was sent off, it would be fine.

Under the scorching sun, several of them were drenched in sweat. Yu Deng went to buy a few bottles of water and distributed them to everyone.

Because he hadn’t bought any for Yu Guoqing, Yu Guoqing spat. His gaze was full of resentment as he pointed at Yu Deng and began to curse.

“An ungrateful white-eyed wolf! Your father is still here. If I’d known you were such a thing, I should have stomped you to death with a hoe the moment you were born.”

Zhou Yuejun crudely folded back Yu Guoqing’s hand that was pointing at Yu Deng. He wanted to use a stinky rag to gag Yu Guoqing’s mouth, but considering not to make a big scene and attract the police, he glanced at Yu Deng, who had finished his water and was using his hat to fan himself.

“Go inside.”

He didn’t know if it was the original owner’s feelings at work, but Yu Deng really hated Yu Guoqing and Yu Tang and didn’t want to see them at all.

Just as he was about to leave, Yu Tang gave Yu Guoqing’s arm a tug and shouted. Yu Guoqing: “Stop right there, Yu Deng!”

“Weren’t you wanting to attend university? I’ll let you attend.”

Translator’s Note: Welcome to the drama! Our male lead, Zhou Yuejun, is finally showing his protective side in front of those awful family members. He’s not just a hardworking bouncer; he’s a man who will stand as a mountain for his “relative” (ahem, wife).

Here are a few terms:

  • Golden List (金榜): Refers to the list of successful candidates in the ancient imperial examinations. Today, it’s used to congratulate someone on their Gaokao success.
  • Oil Bottle (拖油瓶): A disparaging term for a child from a previous marriage who accompanies their parent into a new marriage—often seen as a burden.
  • Phoenix Man (鳳凰男): A slang term for a man from a poor, rural background who has managed to establish himself in the city but still carries many traditional (often negative) traits and family burdens.
  • White-eyed Wolf (白眼狼): A common idiom for an ungrateful person.

Have a great day!
