Chapter 1: A Shimmering Green Atop the Head
Fense Academy was the Empire’s premier military academy.
The moment Yun Yingzhi woke up in the morning, he immediately logged onto the academy’s official website to see if the roster for today’s Ranking War had been announced.
At the end of every academic year, a friendly competition was held between the Empire’s top ten military academies, also known as the Empire’s Top Ten Ranking War. The participants for this war were generally selected about two months after the start of the term, based on the students’ grades and performance.

Yun Yingzhi’s eyelid twitched. He stared at his personal terminal for a moment before sending another communication request to Huai Boshe.
A prompt came from the other end: The party is currently busy, please try again later.

The atmosphere in the four-man dorm suddenly became tense, as if the three roommates were facing a great enemy. Their exaggerated reactions stunned Yun Yingzhi. He nervously touched his lips and said, “…No, no, I don’t have a girlfriend. It’s… it’s just a friend of mine.”
At Huai Boshe’s request, their relationship had always been a secret. Yun Yingzhi didn’t mind going public, but Huai Boshe said that since they were both male, both sons of Imperial Generals, and still students, it wasn’t good for others to know about their relationship yet.
Hearing Yun Yingzhi’s words, the three finally believed it really was just a “friend.” The tense atmosphere dissipated instantly.

Yu Feiwen patted Yun Yingzhi’s shoulder. “Tell your friend to break up with that lover.”
“If they don’t break up with someone whose heart belongs to someone else, are they waiting for graduation?” one roommate added.
The other said, “He’s already got a lush green grassland on his head.”
Yun Yingzhi instinctively looked up again, feeling like the green grassland had just expanded. “…”
Thinking about it, he couldn’t help but say, “But the lover confessed first, so the lover should… like him… right?” As he spoke, his voice grew less certain.

The title “A Shimmering Green Atop the Head” (頭頂綠油油) refers to the Chinese idiom “wearing a green hat” (戴綠帽子), which means being cheated on or cuckolded. Poor Yingzhi is just starting to realize his “perfect” boyfriend might have some ulterior motives! Also, “School Flower” (校花) is a term usually used for the most beautiful girl in school, but Yingzhi is so pretty he took the title as a guy. Talk about a face that can conquer the stars!
