Not a Dodder Flower Omega, But a Top-Tier Mecha Master Chapter 2

Chapter 2: The Brutal Omega

“Damn you… I think you’re tired of living!” Black Monkey’s already terrifying face grew even more distorted, but he couldn’t hide the fear in his eyes.

Bai Mu gave him a fleeting glance and pressed the maximum current again.

“Ah… ugh…” Black Monkey curled up on the floor in agony. The smell of scorched flesh and blood filled the air; his gland was already a mangled mess.

The chaos in the casino was beginning to subside. Bai Mu had no intention of wasting more time on this scum. Seeing that Black Monkey was no longer able to resist, he wrapped the chain around the man’s neck and pulled with all his might toward both ends. In just a few moments, Black Monkey drew his last breath.

Bai Mu released the chain, leaning one hand against the wall while gasping for breath. The drug’s effects seemed to have eased slightly, but strangling Black Monkey had taken everything out of him. He now felt dizzy and his limbs were weak.

“I didn’t expect an Omega to be this brutal.”

A lazy voice reached Bai Mu’s ears, the tone carrying a hint of someone watching a good show. Bai Mu’s body stiffened in shock. He immediately pulled his hand away from the wall and stood straight, scanning the surroundings warily.

In a corner not far away, a man had appeared at some unknown time. He leaned casually against the wall, looking relaxed. Bai Mu couldn’t see the man’s face clearly, only noting a buzz-cut hairstyle. The man was watching him. Seeing that Bai Mu had discovered him, the man stepped out from the shadows. He wore professional combat gear and had a lean, powerful build—clearly an Alpha. Is this another person who covets me? Bai Mu became even more guarded. He took a step back and said in an icy voice, “If you know what’s good for you, get lost!”

The man wasn’t angry; instead, he laughed. “I just wanted to remind you that an Omega radiating pheromones is in a very dangerous position here.”

Pheromones. Bai Mu only then realized that his gland had been damaged by the electric shocks. It was now uncontrollably leaking pheromones, and the concentration was steadily increasing.

A few brave souls in the casino hadn’t fled immediately after the shooting. Bai Mu’s pheromones undoubtedly revealed his location. Those people were quietly closing in on him, treating him like prey waiting to be caught.

Who wouldn’t want to get their hands on an Omega that had fetched a bid of one hundred million? Whether kept for personal use or sold off, it was a guaranteed profit. Moreover, it was no longer a matter of wealth, but luck and speed.

Bai Mu looked back at the man. He was still standing there, making no move to attack or capture him like the other Alphas. Bai Mu didn’t linger. He stepped over Black Monkey’s corpse and quickly left the casino.

At that moment, a plump Alpha had already quietly reached the front of Bai Mu, with others following behind. All the Alphas instinctively released their pheromones, attempting to use them to suppress their rivals. The fat man closest to him lunged. Bai Mu quickly dodged, and the man slammed into the floor with a thud.

The man scrambled up and lunged again, while the others drew closer. The situation was extremely dangerous. Bai Mu placed Xiao Piao on his fingertips. The ladybug began to expand and transform. Perhaps because it hadn’t been activated in a long time, the armor deployed exceptionally slowly. However, the silver armor finally covered his body before anyone could grab him. Bai Mu tried to take a step, but as expected, the joints of the mecha kept jamming.

“A mecha! He has a mecha! Don’t let him get away!”

Crap!

Hearing their shouts, Bai Mu remembered that this was Laea City, not the Empire. Mechas were rare items here. He shouldn’t have revealed it now.

Human research into mechas had begun as far back as Ancient Earth. In the interstellar era, mechas had become the most important weapons of war. Two hundred years ago, a historic war broke out in the Hongdu Galaxy. The Empire, which held the lead in mecha development, became the galaxy’s hegemon—a status that remained unshaken to this day.

However, since that great war, there had been no breakthrough progress in mecha research. For the past two hundred years, mechas were generally classified into two types: Light Mechas (wearable suits used for close combat that could perform spatial folding) and Heavy Mechas (massive interstellar combat machines equipped with multiple weapons, usually without spatial folding).

City-states or small nations like Laea City lacked the strength and wealth to support mecha R&D. They usually bought mechas from the Empire. To maintain its hegemony, the Empire only sold obsolete models, never active-duty mechas.

This silver light mecha, though viewed as an “idiot” by Bai Mu, was a coveted treasure in the eyes of the crowd.

Greed was ignited once more. Seeing Bai Mu’s mecha, their eyes flashed with avarice. Capturing Bai Mu meant getting both a beautiful Omega and a mecha suit.

Revealing the mecha was already a mistake; he couldn’t stay here. Bai Mu tried to issue a lift-off command, but the mecha didn’t respond. The silver armor reflected a cold, brilliant light in the darkness, but it remained motionless. The crowd was confused; they wanted to approach but didn’t dare. Driven by greed, they didn’t want to retreat either. For a moment, the situation was at a stalemate.

Anxiety flared in Bai Mu’s heart. He tried to drive the mecha again. With a boom, the mecha suddenly lunged upward. Before Bai Mu could even react, the mecha crashed through the casino roof and ascended into the air in the blink of an eye.

The casino roof shattered, creating a massive hole. Debris and dust rained down, and the electrical circuits hissed and sparked, instantly igniting a fire.

Bai Mu hovered in mid-air. His silver armor reflected a frigid light. He looked down like a deity gazing upon mortals. The first person he spotted was the buzz-cut Alpha. He was still standing there, unhurried—a stark contrast to the panicked crowd. He looked up slightly at the armored Bai Mu.

The man held up three fingers toward Bai Mu, then two, then one.

Bai Mu didn’t understand the gesture until the man’s fingers fell and the mecha system’s voice rang in his ear:

[Energy system fuel insufficient. Unable to maintain mecha form. Commencing folding sequence…]

Bai Mu: “…”

Bai Mu fell from the sky just like that. At the last second before impact, Xiao Piao burned its remaining energy to cushion him, preventing him from slamming into the ground. However, the mecha could no longer deploy and could only remain in its ladybug form by his side.

Bai Mu looked quite disheveled.

Xiao Piao said innocently, “Master, strictly speaking, this isn’t my fault.”

It really wasn’t Xiao Piao’s fault; it was his own for never taking this mecha seriously. Yet in his time of need, only Xiao Piao remained. Bai Mu sighed.

He landed in a quiet alley, which appeared to be the backstreet of the casino. There was no sound. Bai Mu figured no one would catch up for a while. From the moment he woke up, his mind had been on high alert—either being humiliated or tortured.

He desperately needed rest.

Unable to hold himself up any longer, he sat against the wall and looked around. The alley was very narrow, with only a single streetlamp emitting a dim light. Under the shadow of that lamp stood a figure, looking in his direction.

Bai Mu’s first reaction was that the buzz-cut man had followed him. But as he looked closer, he saw that this person’s hair wasn’t particularly short, but rather a head of black, messy hair. Bai Mu stood up abruptly, his mind tightening again as he looked at the figure warily.

He couldn’t see the man’s expression, but he could feel the gaze fixed on him. From his build, this was also a lean, powerful Alpha. His face was hidden in the shadows, revealing only a sharp, well-defined profile.

“I just saw him land here!”

“Exactly, it was right here. Look carefully. If we find him, our gambling debts are as good as paid!”

Footsteps suddenly echoed at the entrance of the alley. Bai Mu’s heart sank. He had no time to worry about the person standing nearby; as long as that person didn’t bother him, he had to find a way to avoid the casino crowd. He knew the reason they had found him so quickly was his uncontrollable pheromones, which were becoming increasingly alluring.

The high concentration of sweet, seductive pheromones in the air could drive an Alpha into a mindless frenzy. Moreover, in his current state—bathrobe and bare feet—no Alpha could resist such a provocation. In a lawless city like Laea, facing a group of Alphas driven mad by pheromones, Bai Mu would die a miserable death.

Bai Mu looked at Xiao Piao. The ladybug quickly flew into the air to scout. “Master, people on the left!”

Without hesitation, Bai Mu ran toward the opposite exit. His bathrobe fluttered in the wind, and sweat-dampened hair stuck to his skin as he ran for his life.

“Master, watch out behind you!” Xiao Piao screamed from the air.

Bai Mu was so focused on running that he didn’t notice someone darting out from a dark side-alley. The person agilely grabbed his ankle from behind, and Bai Mu was dragged to the ground.

The man was very burly, and his pheromones smelled like dead fish. His hand wouldn’t stop stroking Bai Mu’s ankle. Bai Mu used the momentum to kick the man’s head. He used all his strength, but the man still gripped his ankle tightly, frantically sniffing his pheromones.

The smell of dead fish, the lustful eyes, and the filthy hand on his ankle—everything made Bai Mu’s skin crawl. His stomach churned again. He decided to end this quickly.

Several more people caught up at the alley entrance. Seeing Bai Mu entangled, they didn’t move, waiting to reap the benefits of the struggle.

Bai Mu kicked again. The man caught both of his feet in his palms. Bai Mu wrapped his legs around the man’s neck and twisted with force. A crack sounded as the man’s neck snapped.

The man’s hands finally released his ankles. His head lolled at a grotesque angle, dead. Bai Mu kicked the disgusting body away with loathing and slowly scrambled up from the ground.

Bai Mu’s face was cold and filled with a murderous aura—a pressuring intimidation that only a strong Alpha should possess, yet it appeared on an Omega.

The crowd was stunned by his ruthless skill. For a moment, no one dared to step forward. Bai Mu stood solitary among the Alphas, his aura domineering. But only he knew he was on the verge of collapse: stinging eyes, a burning gland, and depleted mental power. If these Alphas rushed him together, he was a dead man.

But what he feared most happened—they soon noticed his legs were trembling.

Several Alphas began to close in from all sides. Bai Mu was trapped in the middle, forced into a brawl.

How could he fend off a group of people alone? In a short while, several wounds appeared on his body, and the white bathrobe bloomed with seductive red flowers of blood.

Despite this, he still managed to knock down half of them. Only a few Alphas were still standing to challenge him; most were lying on the ground groaning in pain. Their eyes were filled with fear even as they remained entranted by his pheromones.

The remaining few launched another attack. Just then, someone outside the alley shouted, “The Consul is on night patrol!”

Upon hearing this, those with minor injuries bolted. Even those groaning on the ground stopped making noise, dragging their injured bodies out of the alley. No one cared about the beautiful Omega or the mecha anymore; everyone just wanted to escape.

Bai Mu’s first instinct was to run, too. But after one step, he stopped. First, it was too late to run; a squad of what looked like government troops had already blocked the exit. Second, his instinct to run was based on his status as a fugitive from the Empire. But then he realized—this was Laea City, far from the Empire’s reach.

This place was a gathering spot for the worst of the worst. Here, his status as a fugitive wouldn’t be particularly noteworthy. As the Empire’s Chief Mecha Master, his identity was a top-secret military file; even his trial for treason was closed to the public. In this remote city-state, no one would know who he was.

Furthermore, Xiao Piao’s energy was spent. This was his only weapon. He needed to find a military base to recharge it as soon as possible.

He had to find a way to infiltrate the government. It was risky, but he had no other choice.

The soldiers blocking the alley split into two columns, and a small squad approached from the darkness.

Bai Mu channeled every ounce of his acting skills into this moment. The brutal Omega who had just soloed a group of Alphas suddenly collapsed to the ground. His hands barely supported his weight, and either sweat or tears rolled down his face as he began to sob.

In addition, he gasped for breath, his body trembling uncontrollably—though this part wasn’t an act. He truly had no strength left to support his collapsing body.

Bai Mu looked up. His face was pale, like a camellia crushed by a storm. His bathrobe was in tatters, and frightening wounds on his fair skin were still bleeding.

He saw the men approaching.

They were all in black combat uniforms, but the upright military attire somehow felt thuggish on them. Not a single one followed proper dress code—some had buttons undone, others had sleeves rolled up, and one was even twirling a gun holster. Are these really government troops? Bai Mu couldn’t help but wonder.

Among them, the leader was a blond Alpha. He had simply draped his uniform jacket over his shoulders. His shirt sleeves were rolled high, a shoulder holster crossed his chest, and a pistol was being twirled like a toy in his hand. The blond Alpha looked lazy and casual, seemingly unbothered by the bloody scene.

While Bai Mu was studying the blond Alpha, the man was looking around, seemingly searching for someone.

The people earlier said the Consul was personally leading the patrol. Was this man the Consul?

For a moment, Bai Mu’s heart raced. The blond Alpha scanned the area before his gaze finally landed on him.

Bai Mu didn’t dodge the scrutiny. He looked at the man with eyes brimming with water.

“What happened here?” the blond Alpha finally spoke.

This must be the Consul, Bai Mu thought. He immediately wiped away all traces of his combat ruthlessness and replaced them with an air of pure, pitiful vulnerability. He looked at the suspected Consul and said in a trembling voice, “Officer, these Alphas were bullying and beating me… I need your help!”

The Alphas with broken bones and cracked skulls: “What the f*ck?!”
