Alvin watched Yun Yingzhi, who was grieving with genuine heartbreak, and remained speechless for a long while.
Yun Yingzhi was truly devastated. His eyes and the tip of his nose were rubbed red from crying, but even so, he looked incredibly adorable. It had to be said that Yun Yingzhi was exceptionally beautiful. Alvin had seen many people, but among them all, Yun Yingzhi was undoubtedly the most good-looking.
Alvin wiped away Yun Yingzhi’s tears and suddenly asked, “Zhizhi, who told you that your Mental Power was only C-rank?”
Yun Yingzhi replied with a sobbing voice, “It… it was measured. Mama said so too. She said Zhizhi only has…” He was a “waste” whose highest talent in any category was only C-rank, the shame of the Empire’s General’s Manor.
Alvin picked Yun Yingzhi up again and said, “Zhizhi, do you trust Teacher?”
Yun Yingzhi sobbed, “Zhizhi trusts Teacher Alvin, waaah…” As he cried, he let out a little hiccup.
Alvin patted Yun Yingzhi’s back, but the little guy continued to hiccup from crying. Alvin said, “But, in Teacher’s eyes, our Zhizhi couldn’t possibly have C-rank Mental Power.”
Yun Yingzhi froze. He blinked his watery, large eyes and looked at Alvin with a face full of confusion.
Alvin continued, “Teacher has watched Zhizhi for an entire year. Our Zhizhi’s destructive capability is so high. In Teacher’s opinion, our Zhizhi is at least a 2S-rank, maybe even a 3S-rank Mental Power user!”
Yun Yingzhi was shocked.
Yun Yingzhi’s pupils shook. At his young age, he simply couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He was so startled that his body even forgot to keep hiccuping. He pointed at himself and asked in a childish voice, “Zhizhi? Not C-rank?”
Alvin nodded with certainty and said, “That’s right. Our Zhizhi isn’t a C-rank.”
A glimmer of excitement sparkled in Yun Yingzhi’s eyes. “Zhizhi is… is… 2S-rank! Maybe even 3S-rank Mental Power talent!”
Alvin smiled and glanced around, pointing out several Source Weapon manufacturing materials one by one. “Look, Zhizhi. These are all the materials you’ve wasted over the past few days. If you didn’t have 2S-rank Mental Power, your destructive force wouldn’t be this strong. Our Zhizhi is a little destruction maniac.”
Yun Yingzhi realized belatedly that this might not exactly be a compliment. On one hand, he was happy, but on the other, he felt a bit shy. He buried his small face in Alvin’s chest, seemingly trying to hide himself after being called a destruction maniac.
However, after a few seconds, he looked up at Alvin again and asked, “Teacher Alvin, is Zhizhi really 2S-rank or 3S-rank?” Was he no longer the waste his mother spoke of, whose highest talent was only C-rank?
Alvin confirmed, “Of course.”
Happy little flowers seemed to bloom all around Yun Yingzhi. The entire child looked absolutely radiant. Alvin pinched Yun Yingzhi’s nose and said, “Zhizhi baby, how about Teacher tests your Mental Power talent right now, hm?”
Yun Yingzhi hesitated for a moment, took a deep breath, and nodded vigorously. “Mhm!”
Before reaching adulthood, a child’s talent can change at any time. This is especially true for children who haven’t differentiated their Second Form yet; after differentiation, there is often a qualitative shift. As for children who have already differentiated, their various talents will also increase to some extent. To make it convenient for these minors to test their talent levels, every major district on the Imperial Star has specialized talent testing centers.

Soon, they arrived at the talent testing center. After explaining their purpose, a staff member led the two of them into the testing area. The testing areas in the center were divided into two types: public and private.
In the public area, everyone watching could see the test results. Good scores would draw envy, and bad scores… Well, no one knew each other anyway.
Alvin looked at the child in his arms, who was still humming happily, and asked, “Zhizhi baby, tell Teacher: do you want to test in the public area or in a private room?”
Yun Yingzhi pressed his cheek against Alvin’s and hesitated for a short moment before saying timidly, “Zhizhi wants to test in the public area. Zhizhi wants… wants everyone to know that Zhizhi’s Mental Power is very strong!” He wanted to tell his father and mother that he wasn’t a waste!
Yun Yingzhi tilted his small chin up slightly, full of anticipation for the upcoming test. Alvin replied with a “Good” and informed the staff member. Under their guidance, they headed to the public testing area.
The staff member smiled and said, “If you test in the public area and achieve a score of 2S-rank or higher, the entire testing center will issue a system announcement to congratulate the child.”
Hearing this, even more little flowers radiated from Yun Yingzhi. He couldn’t help but hum a few more times. Infected by Yun Yingzhi’s childish voice, the corners of Alvin’s lips curled up.
Yun Yingzhi pressed his cheek against Alvin’s again and said, “Teacher Alvin, if Zhizhi gets a good score, can Teacher take a picture for Zhizhi?” He added, “Zhizhi wants to show Mama!”
He wanted to tell his mother that he wasn’t the shame of the General’s Manor. He also wanted to show his brother and tell him that he could actually be very impressive.
“Alright,” Alvin responded warmly.
Most of the people testing in the area were teenagers, with children under ten being the majority. Just like Yun Yingzhi, the children were all brought there by their guardians.
The moment Yun Yingzhi entered the public testing area, many eyes turned toward him.
One child even stared blankly at Yun Yingzhi and said to his parent, “Mama, look quickly! That’s your future daughter-in-law!”
Immediately, several other children became unhappy. They huddled together, claiming that Yun Yingzhi was their future wife. Two children, completely infatuated by Yun Yingzhi’s beauty, even started fighting.
The group of adults watched, utterly shocked.
Yun Yingzhi had a blank face. He buried his small head in Alvin’s chest, feeling completely bewildered.
Soon, with the help of the parents and staff, the children stopped fighting. However, more and more children turned their gaze toward Yun Yingzhi’s beautiful face. Following the crowd is a natural instinct. Those children who weren’t particularly interested in Yun Yingzhi at first suddenly felt a deep love for him under the influence of the others. They acted as if they wouldn’t marry anyone but Yun Yingzhi, whom they had only seen once. It was a classic case of being blinded by beauty, leaving the parents between laughter and tears.
Normally, children in the public testing area had to line up for talent tests. However, using his face to pave the way, little Yun Yingzhi was sent directly to the front of the line.
Yun Yingzhi stood nervously at the front, waiting for the test under everyone’s gaze. After the staff member calibrated the Mental Power testing machine, they waited for Yun Yingzhi to begin.
Yun Yingzhi looked back at Alvin. Because he was nervous, his small face was flushed crimson.
Before Alvin could give the child some courage, the other children swarmed around Yun Yingzhi. They comforted him with a flurry of voices and made all sorts of ridiculous promises.
“Little beauty, don’t be afraid. It doesn’t matter if you don’t get a good score. In the future, you can just marry me. I’ll take care of you, and your only job at home will be to look beautiful!”
“No, don’t marry him! You’re a boy, you should marry a big sister, okay?”
“How could such a pretty kid be a boy? Clearly, it’s a girl!”
Seeing that the children were about to start fighting again, the parents quickly took control of their “bear children,” restricting their restless little bodies.
Although Yun Yingzhi was small, he understood that they didn’t think he had powerful Mental Power. He unhappily pulled a “pouty little brat” face, stomped his two small feet together, tossed his head, and gave a delicate “Hmph!” before proceeding with the Mental Power test.
He didn’t know that his adorable actions had become the “White Moonlight” in the hearts of many children and adults alike.
The Mental Power tester began to run. Soon, the results were out.
The result was D-rank Mental Power.
