Not a Dodder Flower Omega, But a Top-Tier Mecha Master Chapter 5

Chapter 5: The Act of Falling into His Arms

It was already late at night when Bai Mu was sent back to the Han Manor from the med-pod. After three days of treatment, his glands no longer pained him, and his wounds had healed well. However, due to the prolonged overexertion of his body, his spirit remained weary, and his limbs felt devoid of strength.

After a quick wash, Bai Mu lay back in bed to rest. He closed his eyes, but sleep eluded him.

He was relieved that the Consul hadn’t kicked him out. Yet, looking at this room that resembled a high-tech cell, Bai Mu knew the Consul hadn’t lowered his guard for a single second. It seemed that getting close to the Consul to infiltrate the mecha base would be difficult; he needed to find another way.

As Bai Mu was calculating his next move, the faint sound of a door opening reached his ears. He instantly went on high alert, but he didn’t move, continuing to feign sleep.

Who could it be at this hour? Had the Imperial agents found him so quickly?

He heard footsteps gradually approaching. The pressure brought by a powerful Alpha was intense. The intruder didn’t seem to act immediately; instead, they paused at the head of the bed for a moment, likely confirming his status. Bai Mu exerted every effort to maintain a steady breathing rhythm, refusing to let the intruder see even a hint of a flaw. Then, the edge of the bed dipped significantly—the person had actually sat down.

This baffled Bai Mu. If they were here to kill him, why not strike immediately? If they weren’t here to kill him, he truly couldn’t think of any other reason for someone to risk sneaking into his room deep at night.

As he pondered, a cold sensation touched his forehead. He finally heard the long-awaited sound of a trigger being cocked. In the split second before the bullet could be fired, Bai Mu suddenly rolled up. With an incredibly fast and cunning movement, he twisted the intruder’s arm behind their back. He then followed up with a brutal elbow strike to the person’s back, pinning them face-down onto the bed and disarming them.

The entire sequence was fluid and seamless, leaving the intruder with no opportunity to react.

The person pinned beneath him was wearing a doctor’s coat, clearly having snuck in by following the medical team that escorted him back. However, the coat was short and tight on him, making him look somewhat ridiculous.

Bai Mu pressed the gun against the back of the man’s head and said coldly, “Don’t move!”

The man was very obedient. Once told not to move, he truly stayed still, though he let out a low chuckle. “It seems you’ve recovered quite well!”

Bai Mu’s hand holding the gun faltered slightly. He recognized that voice—it was the Flying Eagle mercenary!

The mercenary knew he was leaving the med-pod today and knew exactly when he would be sent back. This meant he was under the mercenary’s constant, tight surveillance at all times. The realization made Bai Mu’s skin crawl.

Bai Mu’s expression grew even colder, his tone like tempered ice. “Who hired you?”

“You look a bit cute when you’re acting all fierce. No wonder the boss was willing to pay such a high price for you,” the mercenary said flippantly, dodging the question.

“Are you the one who brought me to Laea City?”

“You’re being so unfriendly; it’s making things difficult for me…”

It seemed he wouldn’t get any answers out of this man. From the moment he realized it was the mercenary, Bai Mu knew the man had no intention of resisting. Otherwise, with his current strength, he stood no chance against a powerful Alpha.

As Bai Mu was thinking, the mercenary suddenly surged upward without warning. A massive burst of strength exploded from the wrist Bai Mu was holding. With the sound of cracking bones, the man easily broke free from his restraint and lunged to reclaim the gun.

Bai Mu reacted instantly, raising a leg to kick the mercenary’s lower back. The mercenary seemed prepared and dodged quickly, but Bai Mu still managed to land a kick on his shoulder. The mercenary let out a cry of pain.

Bai Mu knew that cry was mostly a joke; it couldn’t have hurt that much. He attacked again, and the two became entangled in a brawl. Bai Mu’s moves targeted vital points, but the mercenary handled him with ease, always managing to neutralize his strikes effortlessly. After several exchanges, Bai Mu was pinned to the bed, unable to move. Faced with the mercenary’s absolute physical dominance, he was helpless and gasping for breath.

The mercenary, however, seemed entirely unaffected. Even his breathing was as steady as usual as he spoke in that same playful tone, “Since you’re fine, I’ll be going now.”

With that, the mercenary released his hold, turned, and vanished from the room in the blink of an eye.

Bai Mu propped himself up and massaged his sore, numb arms, completely bewildered by the mercenary’s behavior.

This was the Han Manor—a government office. It stored Laea City’s highest-level secrets and was arguably the most secure place in the city. The mercenary risked entering this place just to say a few meaningless words and check on his recovery?

The mystery deepened, but he couldn’t find a single thread of logic. Bai Mu tried to calm his emotions. The fight with the mercenary had left him covered in a thin layer of sweat, so he got up to take another shower.

Walking into the bathroom, he looked into the mirror. The person reflected there had sunken cheeks and a haggard appearance. For a moment, Bai Mu was dazed; he could hardly believe that the pale, miserable face in the mirror was his own. He splashed cold water on his face, trying to stay calm.

Knock, knock, knock!

A knock sounded at the door.

Bai Mu’s heart leaped. The mercenary was back!

He quickly turned off the bathroom light and stood silently by the door, listening to the movement outside. Why was the mercenary back? Had he received new orders from his “boss”?

The knock sounded only once and didn’t repeat. Bai Mu waited silently. After about a minute, a faint glimmer of light appeared as the door was opened. A blurry silhouette entered the room in the darkness. After warily circling the room once, the figure locked onto the bathroom and slowly walked toward it.

It seemed the mercenary had indeed returned. What was he planning this time? In that instant, a murderous intent flashed across Bai Mu’s face. He couldn’t let this mercenary keep harassing and stalking him; he had to get rid of him!

A support rod was leaning in the corner; he picked it up and gripped it tightly.

The person outside guessed that Bai Mu was hiding in the bathroom and realized the danger. He was extremely cautious, standing outside the door without moving immediately.

Bai Mu was pressed against the inside of the door, separated from the person outside by only a thin barrier.

The darkness amplified all his senses. The undercurrents hidden beneath the surface began to rise, swirling into a massive vortex.

The person outside moved again, looking like they were about to burst in. Bai Mu decided to strike first. Before the other could push, Bai Mu suddenly yanked the door open.

He swung the support rod toward the person’s head, but in that flash of movement, he suddenly caught a whiff of a crisp, cold pheromone. He had just been in contact with the mercenary and knew his pheromones were a slightly bitter Patchouli. This crisp scent clearly belonged to—

The Consul!

By then, it was too late for Bai Mu to pull back his momentum. Though he managed to stop the rod, his entire body lunged toward the Consul. Unavoidably, Bai Mu crashed straight into the Consul’s arms.

Bai Mu felt the Consul’s body stiffen again.

As the warm, soft body of an Omega crashed into him, Han Naijin had to admit that this fragile yet resilient Omega was incredibly attractive to an Alpha. It would be a lie to say his heart didn’t stir. However, in just a second, Han Naijin sensed something wrong. This wasn’t some late-night seduction or a “falling into arms” act, because he could smell the scent of another Alpha. Though the scent was faint, the message it conveyed was powerful. Han Naijin suddenly realized: this Omega had just had a secret meeting with someone in this room.

That person likely hadn’t left and was hiding in the bathroom. The Omega lunging into his arms was meant to distract him so the other could escape. Thinking of this, Han Naijin suddenly wrapped his arm around Bai Mu’s neck, pinning him in a hostage-like hold. He pressed his gun against Bai Mu’s forehead, and a hot, whispered breath reached Bai Mu’s ear: “Don’t even think about playing tricks!”

Han Naijin held Bai Mu tightly against him. The muscles of the arm constricting his neck were bulging and powerful. Bai Mu’s back was pressed firmly against Han Naijin’s chest; he could clearly feel the burning heat from the chest cavity behind him. Han Naijin led him toward the bathroom in that restricted posture. He kicked the bathroom door open and swept the gun back and forth, only to find that there was no third person in the bathroom as he had expected.

Bai Mu felt the person above him let out a very slight sigh of relief. Before he could react, a massive force pushed him forward. Bai Mu was shoved against the cold bathroom wall. Han Naijin’s body pressed up against him, a leg wedged between Bai Mu’s knees to keep him from moving, while the gun was once again pressed against his forehead.

Throughout this series of neutralizing moves, Bai Mu had been exceptionally cooperative. But since Han Naijin had found no evidence and still wouldn’t let him go, Bai Mu felt a surge of irritation. He said in a slightly provocative tone, “Officer, isn’t it inappropriate to break into an Omega’s room deep at night when you should be sleeping?”

After Bai Mu spoke, Han Naijin only let out a cold snort. At the same time, he slowly moved the gun from Bai Mu’s forehead to his cheek, then down along his jawline. The gun was like the flicking tongue of a poisonous snake, tracing a circle on his face before finally resting against his carotid artery. Han Naijin said in a deep voice, “Isn’t it also inappropriate to have a secret meeting with another Alpha deep at night in my house?”

Bai Mu’s body instantly froze. It seemed the Consul already knew someone had been in the room, and he likely guessed it was the mercenary!

The gun was against his neck; a simple twitch of a finger could take his life. Yet Bai Mu didn’t show a hint of panic.

The two faced off in that cramped space, their adult bodies pressed tightly together, their breaths even intertwining.

The air gradually condensed, becoming as sticky and inseparable as lotus silk.

The cold wall was gradually warmed by Bai Mu’s body heat, but his frame was growing colder. He let out an uncontrollable shiver. The person pinning him sensed the tremble and let out a couple of “tsk tsk” sounds, seemingly filled with disdain for his fragile body.

Han Naijin finally holstered his gun, but he still didn’t release his hold. The arm wrapped around Bai Mu’s neck moved down to his shoulder, and then the other hand joined in. Both hands slid down his thin back, reaching his waist.

Bai Mu’s mind went blank for a second. He was wearing only thin cotton pajamas. The heat from those large hands traveled through the fabric to his skin, bringing a strange sensation. Bai Mu had never had such an intimate interaction with any Alpha, leaving him at a loss. The hands didn’t stop, instead continuing to roam and search around his waist. Bai Mu quickly realized: the Consul was frisking him!

Right, as a suspicious person who had just spent time alone with a mercenary, the Consul surely thought he had hidden something. If even he knew the mercenary wasn’t there to kill him, how could the Consul not see it? In the Consul’s eyes, he and the mercenary were accomplices or co-conspirators.

Thinking of this, Bai Mu stretched his arms out in the air and stood straight, turning around to look at Han Naijin with an expressionless face.

Han Naijin found neither a mecha nor any suspicious items. He withdrew his hands and let out a nonchalant laugh. “Thanks for the cooperation.”

After the struggle with the mercenary and being held captive by Han Naijin for so long, Bai Mu’s recovering body was once again unable to support itself. When Han Naijin pulled his hands away, Bai Mu’s frame swayed and he began to fall backward. Just before the back of his head could hit the wall, those large hands caught his waist in time, pulling him back and pressing him against the wall again. Their bodies were once again pressed tight.

The Omega’s pheromones swirled around Han Naijin’s nose. The scent was like mountain snow with a hint of sweetness. Unlike the cloying floral or milky scents of most Omegas, Han Naijin found this scent very pleasant. At the same time, he noticed his body seemed to be growing warmer, and his breathing grew rapid. He was usually not very sensitive to pheromones, but this specific scent acted precisely on the sensitive, primal nerve of his Alpha instincts.

Han Naijin didn’t want to stay any longer. Seeing that Bai Mu was fine, he quickly withdrew his hands and strode toward the door, unbuttoning his collar to ease his breathing.

Just as he opened the door, Han Naijin saw Situ approaching from the corner. The two of them froze on the spot.

Suspicion appeared on Situ’s face, followed by a look of sudden realization as his expression became “meaningful.” He was looking at a specific scene—

In the middle of the night, an Alpha was fleeing an Omega’s room in a panic. The Alpha’s shirt button was missing, his collar was wide open, the hem of his shirt had been pulled out of his trousers, and his trousers had slipped below his waistline. This… was clearly the result of an Omega’s resistance and struggle…

Hiss—

A mental image full of pixels and censorship formed in Situ’s mind. Situ opened his mouth, his tone a mix of curiosity and “senior guidance”: “Well… don’t be in such a hurry. Take it slow, take it slow.”

Han Naijin: “…”

Only then did Han Naijin realize how much his current appearance invited wild imagination. He straightened his open shirt and let out a light cough to hide the embarrassment.

Han Naijin signaled for Situ to come over. Situ curled his lips and leaned in. “I couldn’t tell before, but you actually like this kind of… flavor.”

Han Naijin said thoughtfully, “Do you think he…”

Han Naijin wanted to ask if Situ found the Omega suspicious, but Situ’s mind was currently looping an “Alpha forcing an Omega” gif. He interrupted Han Naijin before he could finish, winking repeatedly. “You can’t use force with this kind of sickly beauty. You have to…”

Thud—

As Han Naijin and Situ were talking, a muffled thud suddenly rang out, followed by a piercing alarm echoing throughout the building. Their conversation stopped instantly. They both looked toward the source of the sound and then shared a glance. The sound came from nowhere else but Bai Mu’s room!

The door to that room was tightly closed, but faint wisps of white smoke were seeping through the cracks!

The smoke bomb continued to release thick fumes. Bai Mu could see nothing but white smoke. He couldn’t make a sound; his throat burned as if on fire, and his body was drenched in cold sweat. A sense of suffocation rose from his chest to his head; he felt like he would die the next second. He used all his strength to pound on the door, not knowing if anyone would come to his rescue or if Han Naijin had already walked away.

Bai Mu felt his chest was about to explode, and his brain was expanding rapidly. His consciousness grew hazy. He no longer had the strength to pound the door; his body began to slide down. Just then, the door was suddenly yanked open. His survival instinct caused him to lunge out of the room. As fresh air entered his lungs, Bai Mu began to cough violently, gasping for air. He leaned against the wall, greedily sucking in the fresh atmosphere.

For a full two or three minutes, he did nothing but gasp, while Han Naijin and Situ stood by with cold faces, watching him without a word. Once he finally caught his breath and the darkness in his vision faded, a large hand pinched his chin. The hand was calloused from guns and moved roughly, forcing him to look up. He met Han Naijin’s sharp, piercing gaze. Han Naijin’s voice held a hint of ruthlessness: “Did you do this?”

Bai Mu continued to gasp heavily, barely squeezing out a word: “What?”

Han Naijin continued to pinch his chin, but in an instant, the cold hardness on his face was suppressed, replaced once again by a lazy expression. “You deliberately triggered the alarm!”

It wasn’t a question, but a statement.

Bai Mu’s brow furrowed, his face looking bewildered as if thinking. Then, as if remembering something, he said in confusion, “Officer, could it be that you accidentally triggered the alarm while you were searching the room earlier?”
