The Straight Heartthrob: Ruthlessly Forced by a Madman Chapter 56

Chapter 56: The Night Is Still Long

Fu Xingjian went out, likely to the kitchen to cook. Only Wen Yuhuai was left in the room, neurotically staring at the chain on his ankle.

The chain was long—long enough for him to move freely within the room and even use the bathroom, but that was all.

After his trip outside, his range of movement had shrunk from the entire villa to this single room.

Wen Yuhuai fell into a state of trance and self-doubt. Was this law-breaking lunatic really one of the male leads?

Were there such plots in the original novel?

It seemed like there actually were.

Wen Yuhuai racked his brain for a while and remembered similar plots, but those were part of the female lead’s storyline. What did they have to do with him, a villainous supporting male character?

He couldn’t figure it out. No matter how hard he thought, he couldn’t understand why he was following the female lead’s plot, nor why he was being locked up here.

Fu Xingjian returned shortly with the freshly prepared dinner.

Perhaps because time was tight, what he made today was very simple compared to the previous days: lean meat porridge and a few plates of light side dishes. There wasn’t even any rice.

“A-Yu, come and eat.”

Wen Yuhuai remained motionless in his spot, like a statue. He didn’t even give him a glance.

Fu Xingjian placed the tray on a nearby table and walked over to him, his tone ambiguous. “Don’t want to eat? Then don’t. Perfect—let’s do something more interesting instead.”

Wen Yuhuai finally reacted. His resentful gaze landed directly on him. “Get out.”

Fu Xingjian’s footsteps paused, but the expression on his face remained unchanged, and his tone was still gentle. “Really not eating? If you don’t eat, we’ll skip to the next step.”

Food and sex—Wen Yuhuai could guess what the next step was even with his toes. Still, he didn’t want to submit. He just looked at him coldly. “I’ll eat, but either you unlock this chain or you get out.”

Fu Xingjian narrowed his eyes. “A-Yu, it won’t do you any good to reach a deadlock with me right now.”

Wen Yuhuai just let out a disdainful cold snort. “You say that as if following your wishes would lead to anything good. You dead homosexual, you damn gay, don’t think I don’t know what you’re thinking.”

Fu Xingjian was provoked into a laugh. “You know? Then tell me, what am I thinking?”

Wen Yuhuai pressed his lips together tightly, unable to speak. He felt disgusted just thinking about those filthy ideas, let alone saying them aloud.

Fu Xingjian sat down on the edge of the bed with the porridge, issuing a light threat. “My patience has limits. If you don’t want to go to bed on an empty stomach, be good and eat the porridge. Don’t force me to pry your mouth open and pour it down.”

Wen Yuhuai had originally been ready to compromise, but seeing him like this, he was suddenly filled with rage. In a fit of temper, he reached out and knocked the bowl over, saying firmly, “I’m not eating.”

The piercing sound of porcelain shattering followed. The porridge splashed onto the floor, the bed, and some even landed on the back of Fu Xingjian’s hand.

The porridge was still quite hot. The skin on the back of Fu Xingjian’s hand instantly turned red.

Wen Yuhuai’s heart jumped for a second. He thought Fu Xingjian would surely be furious and tear him apart. He retreated into the blankets, nervously waiting for the next reaction.

To his great surprise, Fu Xingjian had no reaction at all. He just stared at him quietly with a hard-to-decipher look for a moment, then slowly leaned down to pick up the shards. Without a word, he walked straight out of the room.

Wen Yuhuai couldn’t tell what was going through his mind. He watched the door nervously, wondering if the man was so angry he wouldn’t come back.

He was disappointed again. Before long, Fu Xingjian returned with another bowl of porridge, followed by a robot vacuum.

This time, there was only one concise word, carrying an indecipherable chill.

“Eat.”

Wen Yuhuai could see that the man’s emotions were on the verge of losing control. He didn’t dare to cause any more trouble. He took the bowl and ate obediently. While eating, he glanced at him. “Aren’t… you eating?”

He didn’t mean anything by the question, nor was he trying to show concern. He was just uncomfortable eating under such an intense gaze.

The gloom on Fu Xingjian’s body dissipated quite a bit because of those words. “I’ll eat later.”

Wen Yuhuai didn’t speak again. He finished the bowl of porridge quietly. Fu Xingjian then picked him up, blankets and all, and placed him on the sofa while he changed the porridge-stained bedsheets.

The leftover food was quickly cleared away. Soon, he left again with the tray.

Wen Yuhuai’s nerves had been tight since he was caught. Even after the man left, he didn’t relax. His intuition told him that today, Fu Xingjian wouldn’t be leaving.

His intuition was correct.

Fu Xingjian returned half an hour later. He seemed to have just showered, wearing only a loose bathrobe that was wide open at the chest, revealing his well-defined serratus anterior muscles.

“Why… why aren’t you wearing clothes properly?” Wen Yuhuai’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he retreated nervously.

Fu Xingjian continued to approach step by step, staring down at him. His long eyelashes couldn’t hide the intensity in his eyes.

“Since I’ll have to take them off anyway, I might as well not wear them.”

These words were a direct declaration. Wen Yuhuai’s face turned uncontrollably pale for a moment. His words of questioning sounded incredibly weak.

“You clearly promised me that you’d wait until I figured things out—”

Fu Xingjian curled his lips, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes. “Is that so? But that was based on the premise that you were obedient. Were you obedient today?”

Wen Yuhuai: “Am I a cat or dog you’re raising? Why should I listen to you—”

Fu Xingjian nodded and curled his lips again. “Exactly. You don’t have to listen to me, and I don’t have to listen to you. We’re even.”

Wen Yuhuai felt as though the man behind him had transformed into a greedy demon that would swallow him whole in the next second, leaving not even a bone behind.

Fear instantly gripped his heart. Without thinking, he scrambled toward the other side of the bed, the chain on his ankle clattering with every move.

Fu Xingjian let out a sneer at his clumsy movements. He hooked a finger into the thin chain and gave it a light tug, leaving Wen Yuhuai trapped and unable to move.

“Let go! Get away—”

Wen Yuhuai had nowhere to run. In his desperation, he actually used his other leg to kick him.

Naturally, his ankle was caught. With just a slight exertion of force from the man behind him, he was dragged back inch by inch, leaving a clear trail across the dark gray bedsheets.

“Be good. Save your energy. The night is still long.”
