Chapter 101: “I Don’t Want to Lose You.”
“A bird?”
Huo Chen frowned slightly. “There are still birds in this season? Where? Let me see.”
Just as Huo Chen turned to look out the window, Lin Huaizhi suddenly began to jump down. “Iâm coming down! Catch me!”
The youth fell rapidly.
Huo Chen no longer had the mind to look out the window; he only stretched out his hands, staring fixedly at Lin Huaizhi. He then took two steps back and caught Lin Huaizhi in a full embrace.
Lin Huaizhi laughed heartily.
“How can you jump down without giving a warning?”
The manâs face turned cold, and his voice also chilled several degrees. That expression, which made his subordinates at the company tremble with fear, was, in Lin Huaizhiâs eyes, incredibly cute.
He put his arms around Huo Chenâs neck, his legs also wrapped around the manâs waistâthe very picture of an “old vine winding around a tree.”
“I did say so, aya.”
There was seemingly only a difference of one word between [I said so] and [I said so, aya], but the role of modal particles in a conversation was incredibly huge.
Especially this “aya” fell into Huo Chenâs ears as if Lin Huaizhi were acting spoiled.
His heart softened first.
But sometimes, when a matter was too significant, acting spoiled couldn’t completely resolve the problemâfor example, right now.
Huo Chen did not relax his expression because of Lin Huaizhiâs acting spoiled. Holding Lin Huaizhi, he stood before the long floor-to-ceiling windows on the first floor and began to lecture: “Thatâs not called ‘saying so,’ itâs called ‘notifying.'”
“The ladder is so high. If I hadn’t caught you and you fell on your legs or back, what would happen?”
This tone of earnest instruction actually had quite a bit of a “Daddy-style Boyfriend” flavor.
Lin Huaizhi swung his legs like a carefree child. “No, our Huo Chen has long arms and long legs. Besides, that ladder wasn’t high at all. You definitely could catch me.”
Our Huo Chen.
These three words made Huo Chen raise the white flag almost instantly. Undeniably, Lin Huaizhi had him completely figured out, and he indeed could not resist this kind of sense of recognition.
It was different from the recognition of those subordinates at the company who followed him to make money.
He needed a very close person to recognize him, to tell him that he was not a useless person, that he was someone worthy of being loved, and someone who could be called “Our Huo Chen” or “Our Baby.”
In the past, his parents should have given it.
But they didn’t.
His parents only said, “You useless thing, why can’t you even do this well?” They also always called him by his full nameâHuo Chen, Huo Chenâand then said, “Look at what kind of seed you were born from.”
Now, Lin Huaizhi had given it.
This lover, who had braved all difficulties to come before him and love him, said “Our Huo Chen,” and said, “Your ability is very strong, youâre great, youâre also handsome, your figure is very good, I especially like you and love you.”
Lin Huaizhi wasn’t like the sun.
He was like the wind.
The kind of wind that was occasionally a gale and occasionally a breeze.
The gale blew open the doors of his heart, and the breeze blew away the accumulated ailments in his soul.
He still didn’t quite understand love.
But he wanted to be with Lin Huaizhi every single day. The moment he woke up, he wanted to see Lin Huaizhiâs face, and he wanted to eat every meal with Lin Huaizhi.
He didn’t know if this counted as love.
If it did.
Then he loved Lin Huaizhi very much right now. “Very much” had to be repeated many times.
Huo Chen looked into the youthâs eyes, his gaze and voice softening a few degrees: “I can’t guarantee that I will definitely catch you. I can only do my best to do so. And everything has two sides; success and failure also complement each other.”
“If I hadn’t caught you and you really fell and hurt your legs or back, or even worseâwhat would happen then?”
“Lin Huaizhi.”
The man called the youthâs name, his gaze extremely serious.
“Don’t do things like this that might harm yourself. I don’t want to lose you, and I even more so don’t want to lose you because of my own reasons.”
“Otherwise, I would never forgive myself.”
Lin Huaizhi was listening in a daze.
He hugged the manâs neck and sighed deeply toward the sky. “Who would believe youâve never been in a relationship? These words are so flirtatious; Iâm almost being flirted to death by you.”
Huo Chen was indeed a straight man.
Even these words confessing his thoughts were said very seriously, but damn it, they were just very flirtatious.
Lin Huaizhi just happened to fall for this!
Huo Chen had a quick mind and a high IQ, but only when facing emotions and facing Lin Huaizhi did he always show an extraordinary level of seriousness.
Just like now, he could even explain to Lin Huaizhi: “I indeed have never been in a relationship, and I really don’t have the intention of flirting with you.”
Lin Huaizhi: “…”
Lin Huaizhiâs little bit of “spring heart” budding was completely spoiled by these words. “Forget it, youâd better not continue explaining. I don’t want to hear explanations. How about some direct action?”
Huo Chen asked humbly.
“What direct action do you want?”
Lin Huaizhi hooked the corner of his mouth: “How about we first have a kiss, then have a sleep? Once youâve ‘served’ me until Iâm satisfied, Iâll listen to everything you say.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Lin Huaizhi felt an extra hand on the back of his head.
That hand exerted a bit of force, and he leaned forward. However, he hadn’t leaned far before a pair of mild, somewhat cold lips pressed against his.
Probably all men are like this.
They are naturally gifted in kissing and intimate matters, able to master them after just a few tries.
Lin Huaizhi didn’t fight with Huo Chen for dominance. He liked the feeling of being kissed by Huo Chen until he was breathless; it made him feel that he was being loved.
The two kissed passionately.
Ever since they started dating, as long as it didn’t involve matters of principle, Huo Chen always went along with Lin Huaizhi.
Things like kisses and passion…
He would even less so refuse Lin Huaizhi.
The curtains on the second floor of the villa were drawn, and the “spring sentiments” inside were also hidden away.
A long time later, Lin Huaizhi felt another hand slide between his own. As their fingers interlaced, Huo Chenâs voice sounded in his ear.
“Lin Huaizhi, will you love me forever?”
Lin Huaizhi heard his own fragmented and out-of-tune answer: “…Yes, I will… love you… forever.”
This villa was Huo Chenâs private property.
Like Lin Huaizhi, Huo Chen had bought many houses. However, while the former did so to flaunt wealth in a “revenge-buying” fashion, the latter wanted to find a free harbor.
But as the world changed and time passed, it wasn’t until the several-year-old Huo Chen became the twenty-something Huo Chen that he understood a true free harbor was not a location.
But a heart.
As well as love.
In this house that Huo Chen had personally picked out, he possessed a lover and he possessed freedom.
